Panorama- JiJi’s worth it for dinner?

Would love to hear what everyone thinks of JiJi for dinner. Is it worth the upcharge?

My husband and I prefer Ji Ji's to the steakhouse or Cucina!  There's beautifully prepared food and impeccable service. I think it is worth every penny!

We've done JiJi's once for dinner and enjoyed it a great deal. Would absolutely choose over the steakhouse. I'd have to think on whether we liked it better than Cucina. My instincts tell me we would likely alternate the two.

Did Ji Ji’s on the Sunshine recently and it was amazing! Definitely worth it! One of the best meals we had all week! 
 

Pics are below of what we had. The duck and pork belly apps are outstanding! we also got the pig shank and Singapore shrimp entrees, spicy fried potato fingers and wide noodle sides and rose crème brûlée and fried wonton desserts! Only thing I didn’t love was the fried wontons. Most a texture thing…expected the shells to be crispy but they weren’t. But flavor was great!

For us, we far preferred the meal we had at JiJi’s to anything else we had on the ship.  Well worth the cost.

Absolutely, positively worth it! So good that we eat there twice when we are on ships that have it. Haven't had anything on the menu that we didn't like.

On Panorama the chef noticed we came back a second time and sent over a big bowl of delicious soup and personally came to thank us for returning. Love that place!

It was the best meal I had on Panorama.  I’m doing B2B cruises on Panorama in January and have booked JiJi’s for both cruises.  Much better than the steakhouse or Cucina.

I'm not a huge fan of specialty restaurants when there are tons of sufficient items for no charge.

 

However, we did Jiji's, and would do it again. It's reasonably priced for a great experience.

Love JiJis! It is our favorite specialty restaurant on the Vista class ships.

We had two excellent experiences with JiJI’s on the Vista and Panorama but on our Panorama cruise two weeks ago with a group of 7 it was very disappointing. One person has a shellfish food allergy and was able to order an appetizer, entree and dessert. The remaining 6 in our party had to choose three appetizers and three entrees to share and we could each order our own dessert. It was just a mess of a dining experience all around and we are not picky or demanding. It could have been an off night with perhaps a new crew, hubby ordered a drink when the first server approached and got a deer in headlights response. The food was decent but not up to the standards set by out first two experiences.

My favorite carnival pay restaurant.  I think they do a better job on some things than any other place to eat. That dessert with the hard shell ... best version ever. I'm a big yes. .. though I ate there a couple times in vista. .. so much food.

I wasn't impressed with Jiji's lunch as everything was premade. So, we never tried the dinner. But, a lot of people have highly recommended it, so maybe next cruise we'll give Jiji's dinner a try.

We have had dinner twice at Ji Ji's, Dec 2019 Vista and Dec 2022 Panorama.  Vista was a great experience, Panorama not so much.  I think it was just our experience.  I had booked a 5:30 pm seating on the Panorama and arrived at 5:30 pm sharp.  There were guests already seated and all the window tables were full.  One window table that was able to seat four had a single.  Since all the window tables were full, we were seated at a table where I looked at the wall behind my husband's head.  The service was not great but I think I was already disappointed in our seating and so it goes.  We are on the Panorama Dec 2023 and maybe will try Ji Ji's again but are considering trying the Italian restaurant.  We take a December cruise because it is our anniversary.  If we do book Ji Ji's, I will arrive way before 5:30 pm to get the table I desire.

The price isn't too bad, but I wasn't really impressed when we tried it last. Maybe I'll give it another try when we sail on a ship that offers it

Best restaurant on board by far!! We eat there at least twice per cruise.
