What a crazy day! I haven't really caught up with CC today. Have been in and out.

 

Since we were in Port (FLL) we called family and friends to wish them Merry Christmas and saved my favorites for last as they love to talk!

 

Jacqui and others who are grieving a loss today, my condolences. 

 

Celebration for all cruising! Lot's of screamers at Lido tonight. Soon the pool will close and we will have the Mariners cocktail party. 

 

I will catch up tomorrow.

In 2018 on Zaandam, we were also fortunate to see their 4th of July Parade.  It was a warm, sunny day in the mid 80s, and the locals were complaining about the heat.  It was the only time we've left the ship in shorts and without a raincoat.  We watched the parade from the ship, which gave us a great viewpoint.

Glad you made it safely. I will have socks in my carry on to put on when I land at Logan tomorrow. 😎

Sorry, I posted earlier,  but it didn't post....

Our tour was not very good. Island is very clean, mega cactus everywhere and outside of the city, not much else.

I will post more tomorrow.

I am in Amherst NH and snuggled under a large blanket and big dog!It is cold. Enjoy your visit with your family.

DD and SDIL landed safely in Phoenix.  It looks like they can make it here because of the Interstate.  Rain should stop before they get here.

Yippee! I just booked our flight to Athens for our November cruise. I was able to use our AlaskaAir miles on Iberia Airlines (I am so tired of British Air being the only option-lousy service and pricy fees). Only drawback is DH will be in Business and I'll be in Premium Economy, but hopefully another seat will open up in the coming months. Now to find tickets from Rome to Atlanta, where we'll stop off to visit DS and DDIL for an early Thanksgiving on the way back-and the long wait!

The fog cleared for a few hours this  afternoon, but has returned.

 @kazu  and @1ANGELCAT  sincere sympathy to you both for your losses.

@bennybear  Like you, our first cruise was to Alaska for a week to see if we liked cruising, after  the long flight  to Vancouver, we decided yes, thanks to the beautiful Volendam and Alaska.  

One evening we had dinner in the Lido, Captain Visser sat at the next table and talked with us.  We also  had the pleasure of sailing with him on his last cruise, he was piped ashore at Sydney, then he and his wife stood at the Opera House waving,  as we sailed by, with lots of tooting from the ship. it was quite an emotional sail out from Sydney.

Christmas Eve tomorrow.
