Aqua Class Complimentary classes on 13 day cruise

Recommended Posts

I searched, not very well I know but I have not been in AQ for a while, before covid, and I know it says free classes, does anyone know how many that entails.  I think it's 3 pp in the room or is it 6.  I am on the 13 day TA on Silhouette coming up and will be using them to make time flow by and relax.

Elite+ (and Zenith) will get a free fitness class as well. Last time I was in Aqua, I was able to add that additional class to my AQ allotment.

Thats good to know,  I have the 6 for the TA which should be all I need.  Wont be on Celebrity for at least a few years after this cruise as have other lines and travels booked out thru 2026 at this point and Im guessing thru 2027 as we plan on doing Antartica in Jan/Feb 2027 on Scenic or Seaborn.

I know it says 6 classes (e.g., yoga) on a 12 day cruise however, we were in Aqua on a 12 day cruise and when we asked the person in the fitness center said 3.

We didn't question the answer because in the end my wife only found 1 class that fit her schedule.

Ill just save where the info is on Celebrity site so in case I don't have issues, I would guess the person in the fitness class might not be aware of the 12+ day cruise info, would just escalate it to the spa director.  Celebrity does not do many over 12 day + cruises anymore so would make sense that staff is not fully aware of the extras.

Elite Plus? Where can I find this on line, please?

I just double checked to confirm. Yes indeed, Elite Plus and Zenith are entitled to one free class!

- Go to the Celebrity website (no need to login).

- Click onto Captain's Club Tiers and Benefits.

- Scroll down a bit to "Full List: View All Benefits."

- You'll bring up the grid that displays the complete listing of all tier benefits.

- Look towards the bottom of the page to the SPA listing.

- You'll see "One complimentary fitness class (yoga,Pilates, spin) for Elite Plus and Zenith.

Not all instructors will inform you of this benefit. I'd suggest you copy the benefit grid page to bring with you. I frequently take advantage of this much appreciated perk.

Just seeking clarification that the free classes are the live ones in the fitness center correct (not some ki d of in room video)?  We are Aqua Class coming up (10) day and I am looking forward to taking free classes.

Thanks

They are the in class/fitness center ones.   I did a few and they are not great.   They get you moving.

Just be prepared for a hard sell for the class packages. On the Summit last July I went to sign up for my included classes that I got with Aqua and the guy absolutely would not listen that I wanted to TRY them with the included class and may well buy more if I liked them. The third time I said that he literally walked away from me and went to someone else - didn't sign me up for anything. The spa person walking around with me had to pick her jaw up off the floor before we moved on. When we got to the spa desk to end the tour, she said something to the manager about what had happened and the manager to her credit did apologize to me and offer to sign me up, but at that point I said no thank you. All I needed was for that guy to be the one leading the class - he'd probably make it extra hard just to punish me.

Class quality can vary greatly. Much depends on the expertise of the instructor, their background and experience with specific disciplines. I've had "marginal" classes and absolutely fabulous classes. Agreed, at the very worst, "they get you moving!"

I would not expect a more dance/yoga trained individual to conduct a super challenging Boot Camp class. Nor would I expect a beefy soccer player/body-builder type to teach a perfect yoga class.

Bottom line, you make the best of it. Then go have breakfast!!

Instructors need to cater to student fitness levels.  If one has a high level of fitness and most other students have a low level of fitness, it probably won't be a very challenging class for the one with a high fitness level.  Or worst case, the instructors get lazy "Just do as many burpees as you can"

IMO, besides yoga classes which aren't technically fitness classes in the sense they won't get you in shape, on a ship, a fitness class is a waste of time unless the scheduled class and/or having an instructor is the only way to motivate yourself.  Otherwise, wake up whenever you want, put on workout gear, grab a coffee, go to the fitness center, do at least a half hour of weights and another half hour doing cardio

Sorry ... absolutely incorrect. Yoga should be considered a mind and body fitness class. It's been around several thousand years for a reason! Maybe you should try one and see for yourself. Furthermore, many of us (even this old girl) enjoy starting our cruise day with a fitness class. There's a particular camaraderie with those who do the morning classes and I've met some really great people. I don't have to be motivated by a teacher; I simply enjoy an AM class. Furthermore, everyone in a class adjusts to their own level ... could be higher or lower than the instructor.

I don't judge folks who bob around in a crowded ship's pool, or play pickleball in the wind, or any other fitness endeavor my fellow cruisers might think is beneficial. I don't judge and I most certainly would not proclaim that those cruisers are "wasting their time."

To each her own!

We're splitting hairs at this point, yoga has many benefits which my post didn't intend to downplay and I occasionally join free yoga classes on cruises where the schedule aligns.  The overall point is if you go to the doctor who states you need to lose 20+ lbs, you want to train for a marathon, etc, yoga alone will not get you there
