AndyMichelle Posted April 26 #1 Share Posted April 26 So we are off on Britannia today, very excited. I won't do any sort of blog as I don't have the eloquence of many of you who have posted recently, which we find interesting and useful, but will report back about some of the frequently asked questions which pop up on here. We have a few firsts for us on this cruise. We are parking at West Quay. We are travelling with others, including a GF vegetarian, a smoker and 'Hyacinth Bucket'... 😂 We have a late boarding time, but will drop bags off earlier and walk across to Oxford Street. Unfortunately one of our party is unwell and can't come, so 8 has become 7 in 4 adjoining balcony cabins. We have late sitting club dining on our own table for 8. We will possibly be using the gym for the first time as Michelle has a physio plan she needs to keep up. The refurb seems to have been lots of new carpet and a spruce up, but will check for any major changes. Apparently the Casino will be open as was closed for the last cruise. Just going through that last minute 'what have we forgot' sequence😂 Andy
Rare SarahHben Posted April 26 #2 Share Posted April 26 Hi Andy, I hope you have a wonderful cruise! It’s such a shame for the person in your party who’s unwell. We’ve got 5 weeks until our Britannia cruise so would be very interested to know if the theatre has to be booked on ‘my holiday’ or do you just turn up? The same question for MDR breakfasts and dinners? Also keen to find out if the muster drill is video in cabin or muster stations with/without life jackets? Have a great time.
Beckett Posted April 26 #3 Share Posted April 26 Morning Andy and Michelle Your party of now 7 ( so sorry to hear one of whom has had to drop out - I hope he/she is ok) sounds like a very diverse group and you're all set up for great fun. I hope Hyacinth doesn't show you up all too much! Have a wonderful time both and I look forward hearing all about it. Love Britannia. Very best wishes. jaydee6969 Posted April 26 #4 Share Posted April 26 Have a smashing time and enjoy. We are also on board in 5 weeks, same as SarahHben. I am sure my brother has delivered enough booze this morning, ready for your party to board! 4

When we were on Britannia theatre shows needed to by booked. We had fixed dining so not sure about booking for dinners. Muster drill is report to muster station then watch the video in the cabin (which was the same on our recent Azura and Arvia cruises). Hope that helps. 1

Hope that helps. Unfortunately, we are having to do a 'full' muster drill, but I'm hoping it is not becoming the norm... It seems they are running 2 systems for the restaurants, the app or just turn up, but will check this out. It doesn't seem you have to book the theatre either, but will find out and report back. Rare Cloudyrain Posted April 26 #8 Share Posted April 26 Have a great time 😊 Haven’t they added a new dining venue option, or was that something I dreamt?

Rare TigerB Posted April 26 #10 Share Posted April 26 Here's hoping you and your gang have a great time. Will you be walking about barefoot to really benefit from that new carpet experience?🤭 I have one request, if you don't mind; can you please report back on food and beverage price increases, which should be happening about now, if not already? Perhaps, if you're able to, post a couple of photos of a physical bar menu or a screenshot from one on the My Holiday app/non-app. Ta muchly 🙂 Again, have a great time.

I go to get away from carpets... 😁 Will definitely post a drinks menu, hoping they haven't gone up too much... Andy 4

In Feb this year, no booking of theatres but using the app to book MDR dining was simple and we rarely waited more than 10 minutes for the message to say our table was ready. Muster drill was turn up at your station but to misquote Phil Collins, no life jacket required.

Rare Megabear2 Posted April 26 #15 Share Posted April 26 Have a great cruise. If Hyacinth gets too overcome with excitement perhaps you can don your Onslow persona and wear her out on the dance floor. I would be very interested in whether the spa has undergone any upgrade and if the thermal suite in particular has had the warm beds and ice room sorted - they were not operational in January along with various other niggling broken bits and pieces. Thank you, have a fabulous time, I'm not jealous at all .... 1

Thank you, have a fabulous time, I'm not jealous at all .... 'Our Hyacinth' is lovely, but she does have very high expectations... She thinks she will be having candlelit soirees with the captain, and I am much more Onslow, 'not paying all this money to eat with the staff' 😂 I will see what I can find out about the spa. He can't stop tutting " Have a great cruise.

Rare Eddie99 Posted April 26 #21 Share Posted April 26 Have a wonderful time, both of you - and the rest of your party. What a shame someone is missing 😕. I think there should be much raising of glasses on your exclusive dinner table, “To absent friends” I hope you have a lovely waiting team Enjoy the carpets! (I had an email from P&O wrt my booking from the 2026 schedule … “We can’t wait to welcome you onboard - just 126 weeks” 😳🤣)
