Good evening. Rain, we have rain and a heavy rain at that. Monty could do without the thunder. Next couple of days promise to be really wet. Can but hope.

@Cruzin TerriMy next door neighbor used several respite cares for her folks when she was their caregiver. I think it saved her sanity.... I know it helped mine since I tried to help her much as I could. A couple times it was a "day care" situation but once it was in a nursing/rehab facility while we did a short trip. Check around and see what your area offers.

Good evening from Boston!

 

On the recommendation from a friend we went to Antico Forno in the North End for dinner.  We were all starved as we only had cannoli for lunch.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

We walked back to the hotel after dinner and decided we had earned dessert.

Thank you all for your comments and advice.

Just to be clear.  I will not put DH in respite and go on a cruise or anywhere else by myself.

If I go, he goes. If he can’t go, I don’t go.  that is the way it is.

Not sure what I will do for the future. I need to look into a few resources and then pray a lot.

I know I will do what is right in due time.

@Cruzin Terri  sorry that your DH refused to attend the appointment yesterday.  For several years I was involved as a volunteer Day/Night sitter, a service to help carers in their own home.  A volunteer would sit with the patient while the carer left the house for a break, such as shopping, lunch out, hairdresser etc.   The night sitter would sit in the patients room, while the carer slept in a separate room.   

Would there anything similar available in your area?

There are people who perform that service.  However, we are not at that point yet. 

I am starting to get information for the day when we will need such services.
