NAME THE SHIPS Genisis

Recommended Posts

I went with:

Paradise of the Seas

Rapture of the Seas

Great minds must think alike, those were my exact two submissions yesterday around 11am central. I am sure someone else thought of it and submitted it before me though!

Thanks so much for answering my question! I had not seen the points system. Didn't really read the rules. :o

No problem!

Normally I don't actually read all the rules either, they aren't the most entertaining thing to read! But I think I was just really bored when the contest was posted and couldn't believe the grand prize was actually all they said it was.. so I read to make sure.:)

Okay...I submitted mine a few days ago...and think they're really, really good...

Then I read this thread finally today...and am somewhat relieved that no one here has duplicated mine...at least that's posted...

But, I'm not going to reveal mine--don't want anyone copying them...

In the meantime...I thought I'd share some I didn't submit:

For our "President":

Surge of the Seas

Strategery of the Seas

For some of my old high school buddies:

Cheech of the Seas

Chong of the Seas

For my nephew:

Beavis of the Seas

Butthead of the Seas

For the movie buffs:

Titanic of the Seas

Poseidon of the Seas

For the seasick:

Turbulence of the Seas

Rocking of the Seas

Or...

Planet of the Seas

Beneath the Planet of the Seas

Battle for the Planet of the Seas

Conquest of the Planet of the Seas

Escape from the Planet of the Seas

Return to the Planet of the Seas...

I went with names that go along with the project name Genesis:

1. Resplendence of the Seas- Representing the brilliant glory of creation

2. Promise of the Seas- Representing the promise of salvation after the fall in Genesis 3

I'm still liking "Titanic of the Seas."

What? Why is everyone looking at me like that? The ship is big, right? You want a name that expresses the sheer size and might of the ship, right? I mean, that would make sense. So, how about Tita......

Oh, I see. Nevermind. I'll keep thinking.

I got one. RAMBO of the Seas!!!!!!!!!

i looked thru a thesaurus as well- lol

great names- keep em coming!

for those that don't want to divulge, you are safe since your entry has a time stamp on it - first one to submit winning name gets the prize - so if someone copies you it won't matter as you have already submitted the big name! :) hope that made sense....

Pinnacle and Utopia

I entered "Pinnacle" and "Summit" on Monday. Yeah, yeah, one name is a HAL restaurant and the other a Celebrity ship, but hopefully the judges aren't too cruise savy!

Looks like there will be sooooo much repetition. Sure with I had read about the contest sooner.

Mosaic of the Seas & Kaleidoscope of the Seas....

I do really like Promise of the Seas!

I like Mosaic and Kaleidoscope of the Seas...I can even picture the ships in my minds eye. You have captured the essence well with this. Very creative and unique. I liked my entry but this is a good one! I can pray to be one the four but there a some good ones out there...:o

I like Resplendance and Promise:)

I entered this morning. Generation of the Seas and Expanse of the Seas

Thanks! You picked 2 good Genesis words as well, in fact, the Book of Genesis is built on a structure of 10 "generations" (Toledot in Hebrew). (Can you tell I'm a seminary prof?) It will be interesting to see if they go with something related to Genesis.
