Passion island and tourcozumel?

I am truely sorry to hear that this has happened to so many people. I had trouble with them last year in August. I came back to post my experience and my post was deleted minutes after I posted. After that day, I had not been back on this section of the boards, because I didn't want to be flamed for the trouble we went through.

DBF and I were told that the US side of the company was not paying the side in Coz. And after some tears and some phone calls back and forth we went. Carrie told me that she was going to refund me and never did. I didn't want one, because we did go, but it was not the trip that was described to us.

Sorry to hear that!

I suggest anybody who has had any negative experience with Carrie and the TC company file complaints with the BBB and with the Clay Co Sheriffs Office. Hoping to get enough people in contact with them to shut these people down for good!

Athough I don't believe I'll get my money back I won't be happy till they stop what they are doing!! I don't want them to ruin some little kids vacation! They have several of their own kids. Wonder how they would feel!!

That's wonderful!! Please let me know. I've still heard nothing from her facebook page yet ... Darn it, you can't tell the last time she logged in! I sure hope they aren't ripping anyone else off meanwhile!

I didn't have a chance to go look at the facebook page until this morning and now it is gone...

My Family also lost money by booking through this company. I think this is my first post but I have been reading this thread since April, after I realized I probably made a mistake by booking through them.

I have contacted Florida's Attorney General, but they will only investigate if a large number of people have been affected and contact them. I will also look into filing with the BBB and the police dept. mentioned.

We really enjoyed our day at Mr. Sancho's though and plan to return there on our next cruise.

Well they certainily ruined my kids vacation....

Even though I got my money back I would still like to put a noose around Ken's neck... Getting my money back still does not make up for destroying our day in Cozumel.

I posted a review about my experience in October (which started the thread, by the way!). My initial post was removed because of the policy of not posting a review unless someone asks for one. Host Mach kindly asked and I kindly posted. :)

We had a great day, with just a few glitches on the side of Tour Cozumel and I hate it that so many people have had trouble with them. I hope folks keep trying to get to Pasion Isle though, as it was a great day in Coz!

The orginal thread that introduced Carrie (to the best of my knowledge), is here:

http://boards.cruisecritic.com/showthread.php?t=55918&page=39

The trouble posts start about two pages afterwards. Re-reading just a few of Ken's comments are sorta laughable now (no make that devious), knowing he and Carrie are together. Should have known someone so defensive was not just a cheerleader, but had a more personal interest in good reviews.

Do you have contact info for the Attorney General?

Just sent in my complaint to the Florida AG's office. IMO, this could be the route that gets us the results we want - everyone should be sending their complaints. It's really easy - just an online form to fill out with your contact info and space to write in your complaint.

I hope that everyone has saved their emails and paypal/bank statements from TC. I've posted the links to these threads in the forms that I've submitted to the different law enforement agencies and to the AG. I'm hoping they look at them and realize there are a lot more people affected by this than what will actually file complaints.

I received my response via e-mail yesterday. Hopefully we can flood their office and they will want to get this taken care of as soon as possible!

What kind of response did you get? I just got my response today as well and they have referred me to another agency. I still have yet to hear back form the Clay Co Sheriff....

This is the email I received from the Florida AG

Florida Attorney General Bill McCollum received your email regarding your

concerns with **************** . Attorney General McCollum asked that I

respond on his behalf.

Attorney General McCollum is concerned with all potentially unfair and

deceptive trade practices that mislead consumers. By law, this office

exercises statutory authority to address consumer fraud under Chapter 501,

Part II, Florida Statutes, known as Florida's Unfair and Deceptive Trade

Practices Act. Our office focuses its enforcement efforts on business

practices by companies which harm numerous consumers in more than one

judicial circuit. We use complaints to develop information about patterns

of business activity which may indicate the need for formal investigation

or action by our office to protect the broad public interest. Please note

that our office does not mediate individual consumer complaints.

To file a complaint at the state level, please contact the Florida

Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services, Division of Consumer

Services (DACS). The DACS registers sellers of travel in this state, and

also serves as the state's consumer complaint clearinghouse. This agency

offers a voluntary mediation program to assist individual consumers. In

an effort to be of assistance, I have provided contact information for the

DACS below:

Florida Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services

Division of Consumer Services

2005 Apalachee Parkway

Tallahassee, Florida 32399

Telephone: (850)488-2221

Website: http://www.800helpfla.com/

Finally, Florida's Deceptive and Unfair Trade Practices Act provides

individuals with a private remedy to bring an action for damages,

attorney's fees and court costs. An attorney can provide the legal advice

which our office cannot give to private individuals. Please consult a

private attorney if you need any legal guidance. The Florida Bar offers a

Lawyer Referral Service toll-free at (800) 342-8060.

We will retain your information in our consumer files. Thank you for

taking the time to share your concerns with Attorney General McCollum's

Office. I hope this issue is resolved to your satisfaction.

Sincerely,

Samantha Santana

Office of Citizen Services

Here is my response from the Florida AG's office. Similar, but a little different.

Florida Attorney General Bill McCollum received your email regarding your

concerns with Tour Cozumel. Attorney General McCollum asked that I

respond.

Our office uses complaints such as yours to develop information about

patterns of business activity which may indicate the need for formal

investigation or action to protect the broad public interest. In cases of

statewide significance, when substantive evidence is accumulated

indicating that a firm is systematically violating Florida law, we may

investigate and take action on behalf of the collective legal interests of

the people of this state. However, this office does not mediate

individual consumer complaints.

To file an individual complaint at the state level, please contact the

Florida Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services, Division of

Consumer Services (DACS). DACS registers sellers of travel in this state,

and also serves as the state's consumer complaint clearinghouse. DACS

provides an online complaint form online at:

http://www.800helpfla.com/

You may also contact DACS at:

2005 Apalachee Parkway

Tallahassee, Florida 32399

Telephone: (850)488-2221

Toll-free within FL: (800)435-7352

If you know where the company is located, you should also contact that

area's local Better Business Bureau and/or county consumer protection

office. The following website provides contact information:

http://www.bbb.org

In addition, you may contact the following consumer agencies as you seek

to resolve your individual complaint:

Federal Trade Commission

Toll-free: (877) 382-4357

Internet: http://www.ftc.gov

Also, if you made the purchase with your credit card, the following

information from the Federal Trade Commission's (FTC) website about the

Fair Credit Billing Act and Fair Debt Collection Practices Act may be

helpful to you. The FTC can provide you with information on how to dispute

the charges with your credit card company:

http://www.ftc.gov/bcp/edu/pubs/consumer/credit/cre16.shtm

http://www.ftc.gov/bcp/edu/pubs/consumer/credit/cre18.pdf

If the charge came directly out of your bank account, you may wish to work

with your bank to find out about the possibility of having the charges

reversed under Federal Regulation "E." If your bank is a member of the

National Automated Clearing House Rules Association, that organization's

rules permit the reversal of any unauthorized automated clearinghouse

transaction if reported within sixty days after the transaction. More

information is available online at:

http://www.nacha.org

Finally, Florida's Deceptive and Unfair Trade Practices Act provides

individuals with a private remedy to bring an action for damages,

attorney's fees and court costs. Please consult a private attorney if you

need any legal guidance. The Florida Bar offers a Lawyer Referral Service

toll-free at (800) 342-8060.

Please understand that our duties are defined by law. Thank you for

contacting Attorney General McCollum's Office. I hope this information

proves to be helpful.

Sincerely,

Travis Dudley
