  1. Enjoying your review. The video did load. Looks like the people i the elevator were having a great time ! mac_tlc
  2. It sure would. I miss the periscope days a lot. It was a great cruising community. Jarvis does some You Tube broadcasts, but it ain’t periscope. I actually miss periscoping my cruises. Such a great group of folks. mac_tlc
  3. For my 1/29/23 Beyond sailing, the app does not show any room service charge between 5am and 11pm. For Aqua and Suites, it says 24 hr complimentary. mac_tlc
  4. And that’s why personal value is more important than just price. As a I have recently posted, we are interested in O. Frankly, though, I have not found a price advantage for the times I have looked at, even before leveling the playing field for tips, beverages and any OBC. By reading everything I have, it seems the food is much better on O—— but how much am I willing to pay for that? It’s not “better food at any cost”. I think we will dip our toe in the O water, but on a shorter itinerary so the $$ in play are less. And probably on one the the larger ships. I don’t think we would enjoy the 600+ passenger ships. My wife has mobility issues, so Port after Port after Port is not appealing to us. O seems to often have more ports for the same total itinerary length. For some, that’s exactly what they want, for us not so much. I have enjoyed this thread and the comparisons people have found. It’s given me something to do over the holiday weekend! mac_tlc
  5. For us it’s deck 10, near forward elevators, Port side, room without the pole on the balcony. mac_tlc
  6. We have been on 46 and we have ordered room service many times. Not sure what our comments add to the discussion, but in the interest of balance…… mac_tlc
  7. For the 2023 X cruises I have booked, they do hit the spot, as do the ones booked for 2024. However most were booked a while ago. If I were to look at any of them at todays prices ( except for our 2024 Edge Alaska trip), it would be a big time pass. The same can be said for any GS or higher on Royal. Looking at Oceania for late 2024/early 2025, maybe MSC Yacht Club, but so far have not found anything that is a no brainer. The search continues… mac_tlc
  8. I never understood the “I do it now” rationale. That why I go on vacation, to not have to do what I do now. Is any one “change” earthshattering —- of course not, but the slow but sure removal of services adds up. At some point, it’s time to look elsewhere. That time is different for everyone. mac_tlc
  9. I agree. The use of WhatApp worked so well. We had 8 of us in the 4 Bedroom Villa suite and he responded so quickly to any of us. Not sure he will remember but tell him Mike, Terri and the family of 8 from August say HI! If you happen to see Mariana, she is a Loft Attendant on that side of the lofts, in the hallway tell her Mike and Terri said Hello. She is one of the sweetest people we have met. Have a wonderful time ! BTW, I still miss periscope! mac_tlc
  10. We are also eyeing the PC itinerary in early 2025 on the Vista. Looks intriguing. mac_tlc
  11. We will be crossing the Arctic Circle on Jewel of the Seas on our birthday this upcoming June. Wait ..... did I say "we"??? ..... Yes I did --- my wife and I have the same birthday ----- she is the older women, by exactly 365 days! We will also be on the Oasis for our 40th anniversary in August, with the kids and grandkids. mac_tlc
  12. A fairer system I believe. And the Iconic Suite on Edge class ships gets 24 pts per night. It’s somewhat related to $$ spent. How the Royal Loft Suite gets the same as a JS when it is many times the cost seems crazy. At least Royal could throw Star class an extra point per night. mac_tlc
  13. With these five points I will make E+ after my January Beyond sailing. It is there I will languish for the remainder of my time on the water. I agree with some others, those B2B2B itineraries look very intriguing. mac_tlc
  14. Baring any unforeseen circumstances, Odyssey always uses Pier 18. Beyond/Apex/Edge always use pier 25—- one time I remember the Equinox was “stuck” at pier 18 and Edge used the pier right across from it, pier 22. Here is a link to the “official” port schedule, it only goes out 7 days. https://pevvesseltraffic.broward.org/webx/ I have an app that shows the 30 day harbor master schedule—- go to the AppStore and search “ cruiseschedule port Everglades”. mac_tlc
  15. We have taken the auto train a number of times, both northbound and southbound, and can agree the wifi is abysmal. mac_tlc
  16. I’m sure it will eventually. old was $69 to $84, $15 + 20% = $18 new is $89 to $109, $20 + 20% = $24 mac_tlc
  17. Just checked my January Beyond sailing: Premium $109, current discount to $98.99. Classic $89, current discount to $80.99 All prices in US dollars mac_ tlc
  18. I agree the Icon and Wonder suite prices are crazy. Too steep for us. The "price creep" on other Oasis class is also noticeable. We contemplated Symphony out of NJ, but its just too much for a GS or OS or CLS. mac_tlc
  19. I don’t expect Celebrity to buy it and resell it. But if the Duty Free ship has something, then it is available and the “supply chain” rationale is wearing thin. mac_tlc
  20. It certainly is bigger. For us, At the GS vs SS comparison, it’s really a trade off of the extra space vs. included amenities. We have done both on multiple ships. We have grown a little tired of the 6000 people on Oasis ships. The drawback for us is that a JS, close in size to an SS, includes nothing . mac_tlc
  21. Diamond gets 4 drinks per day, Diamond Plus 5/day, Pinnacle 6/day. Coastal Kitchen only on Oasis and Quantum class, not on Adventure (Voyager class). On an Oasis or Quantum class. I agree with you on Coastal Kitchen. Although future GS prices on those can be more than an E-class SS. All depends on date. mac_tlc
  22. Don’t be at all concerned. We have done Royal Star class three times with three different genies. They all were wonderful. Our latest was on Harmony with a group of 8, ages 63 to 4. The genie will book any restaurant for anyone anytime. With the younger kids, our plans changed early and often. Genie handled it all. Most use Whatapp to communicate. They can bring just about anything to the cabin whenever you want it. We had bourbon and wine every afternoon along with pizza and fries for the kids. Milkshakes for after dinner snack! You will have reserved seats for every show and, again, the genie can handle last minute changes. Have a great time! mac_tlc
  23. If I hadn't stumbled onto the lower price, I would not book it at current pricing. The CS on the Ascent Fall 2024 TA is currently $40,288 for two ! WOW !!! mac_tlc
