  1. Exactly, we all have different opinions on what constitutes good entertainment. I don't envy HAL trying to find the best answers to keep the most people happy.
  2. I agree. More details would really help people that have specific concerns.
  3. For us, we couldn't care less about these things. Listening to band and dancing for a couple hours is preferable than watching a production show or sitting quietly listening to chamber music for us. If HAL is going to cut things, I'm OK with what they have chosen to eliminate. Of course, others will feel differently.
  4. But that is very subjective. What is easy for some will be strenuous for others. Some are fine with uphill but downhill is difficult or vice versa. Stairs versus an incline, standing for an hour versus walking etc. And you will still have people that underestimate their physical capabilities. There just is no easy answer.
  5. I hope you continue to enjoy your sailing. Could you tell me if you feel there are enough activities to keep you entertained during the day?
  6. Same here. We have our photos and our memories. Oops! I forgot, I also have cruises listed in my signature. Shows how helpful my memory is! LOL
  7. You will have to go through them for some things like price adjustments or changing your cabin.
  8. Yes you can. Once you log in, you'll be able to go to your account and select your booking. From there you will see excursions, dinning reservations etc that are available. These things may not be available until about 6-8 months before your cruise.
  9. I imagine they find something else that better suits their budget and tastes.
  10. I'm always fascinated by industrial ports. I love watching the ships being unload, all the activity is interesting to me. Don't get me wrong I do enjoy a beautiful sail in with natural beauty but where some people dread the "ugly" industrial ports, I always look forward to them.
  11. There is a "Throw Back" happy hour listed under Drinks from 4- 5. It doesn't say what the offer is though.
  12. It could be that the ship is changing regions and there are different menus that will be loaded shortly? Just a guess
  13. Agreed. If I'm comfortable with what I pay for what I get, I'm not going to fuss about what others pay. If I feel it's so unfair that I'm paying more than others than I wouldn't pay that price.
  14. I've been reading about that on another WC blog that I've been following. This couple follow the rules and every time they get to the bus most of the seats are already full! It amazes me that grow ups will act that way😣
  15. We don't eat dinner with people we haven't met previously. Even if it means waiting for a table. We don't go to any of the large singing/dancing shows. No spa services. No door decorations. There is a number that tells us which cabin is ours. We never play trivia but will listen if we're in the area. We don't fuss about how things "used to be". We enjoy what is.
  16. I will probably cruise more then than I do now. As we get older, I think it will be easier than independent land travel.
  17. True, but what you and others are pointing out is the length of the meal is too much for young children. That's what I was addressing not the cost involved.
  18. By that reasoning children should not eat dinner in the MDR either. That can be an even longer experience.
  19. This happens with some land based hotels also. It is a hold not a charge.
  20. A good place to start is the HAL website. Even if you're not interested in ship excursions, it will give you an idea of what might be of interest to you in each port.
  21. Thanks for the information! One of nice things about not having tried it before is that we won't miss what's been taken off on the new menu. From what I'm seeing we will like either menu, so we'll see what we get in May.
