  1. If both the app and device - of whatever type - are not updated there will be issues. Clearing the cache and rebooting makes it work on ever my wife's 6 year old android phone - never well, but works. Found long ago to use my TA for bookings and look at Celebrity or a "very fast" travel site to see the details on promos.
  2. Have never had any issues from smokers except walking beside the pool port side. If the ship is underway the breeze carries the smoke away. I personally wish the designated smoking area was 200 meters aft of the ship.
  3. I did not suggest calling anyone. Calling either just confuses things. The email to Celebrity works perfectly. I have spoken with the Celebrity executive team and they are people that handle downline needs for Celebrity and others do the same for Royal. Currently mostly for entertainers and staff. Different people in what I agree are likely the same office.
  4. The exact reason to use a TA along with a bunch of OBC. As for the booking issue, simply cancell and rebook if you want to do it online.
  5. Jelayne really? If you make a request to begin or end a cruise at ports other than the designated locations it is handled in Miami. When we did it years ago the email said Celebrity. It could have said RCCL; just so we had permission to downline. Makes no difference and those changes come out of pretty much the same office. Yes, they were easy to reach and helpful. And hopefully soon passengers can do itinerary changes again.
  6. Great comment. Agree the if (when) bookings fall for Aqua and suites that AI will.be dropped and replaced with something else. Supply and demand is the force that drives policy and prices.
  7. It is certainly different. Had a cruise this August. There was certainly sparkle. There was also the obvious situation of a business starting back up. No different from many others. Supply chain issues and personnel shortages will improve over time. Did we have a good time - absolutely. Have 3 more upcoming cruises. Expect that each will move a bit more toward the standards the cruiseline has for its passengers.
  8. I would expect a couple hundred kids. Schools here finish on either the 16th or 17th.
  9. Was told not allowed on a Pacific Coast cruise ending in Vancouver. Same answer ending in SAN pedro.
  10. Haven't we discussed this over and over? Dress codes are being relaxed and sometimes ignored. Things are indeed changing. Our last cruise saw lots of Tshirts in the MDR, but no shorts. And the t-shirts had no objectionable sayings and were not for Megadeath.
  11. Have had no issues at all using my Android phone and Chrome/Firefox. Celebrity is down at night once a week (Florida time) for updating on usually Saturday or Sunday. Thus certainly would regularly effect Europe and Australia.
  12. Actually best to call your broker and ask them for a letter saying you have 100 shares of RCCL in your account. Nothing blocked out. I got almost instantly approved for multiple cruises. Did it via email.
  13. Nor sure that will help as every cruiseline is facing the same shortages in staff while passenger count in pretty much full. On a high demand cruise on Summit recently the ship was pretty much full - was told only a handful of empty cabins reserved for covid issues - and staff about 200 short. Lots of new staff who worked really hard and service improved each day. With the visa issues still huge it is hard to get staff and about half the old experienced staff of pre-COVID have not returned. Seems it will take some months to get staff in place and trained. By June of 23 that should be accomplished but am hearing that the staffing and supply issues are much the same everywhere and possibly worse in Europe. About 6% of the workforce in the US are not working or doing gig work. Look at your local grocery or? Help wanted signs everyplace.
  14. Love the waterskis on my wife- Size 6 and my grandson- Size 15. Also the floor length robe on my wife which it more like a hospital gown on me. We bring some sandals. Easier.
  15. Impossible to tell except Chef's Table will be sold out. Never was good at predicting the future. On our recent Summit cruise there were opening every night for 8pm or later.
  16. Up to 48 hours before sailing you can cancel.
  17. What you suggest is way too easy. Maybe you could send your comment to the executive offices where someone with the ability to make changes, especially positive ones, might fix this. Include your CClub number and phone contact.
  18. You will be Elite for the 2nd cruise. It might require a visit to the Captain's Club host once the 2nd cruise begins. Suggest waiting till there is no line as they can correct anything then.
  19. It will vary as to availability but on our recent Summit cruise there were three wines and at least 2 NA beers on board.
  20. You need to remember there are "special" people on every cruise. They seem to go out of their way to challenge rules and guidelines of all sorts. One also needs to remember that a Caribbean cruise is likely to be more casual than one in the Mediterranean. Also that covid changed lots of behaviors such as the passengers in Blu on Summit who went on a rant about his wine service.
  21. As Jim already asked - How are you submitting your request? They handle them immediately on receipt and I have had credits applied in as little as an hour or had it take 3 days - never longer. Apply via email. Put RCCL shareholder OBC in the title line. Include your name, address, booking number, ship and cruise date in the body of the email. Take a photo of a broker statement showing you hold 100+ RCCL shares. Attach it to your email. Make sure the name matches. Nothing else. The shoreside concierge does not handle these. They only pass them on and it confuses things even more. Hope this helps. PS I received a credit for a cruise one YEAR in the future.
  22. Excellent list. In our last 5 Celebrity cruises we have had 4 missed ports. 2 due to weather, 1 to a dockage issue and one a medical emergency. For all we were notified 24 hours or less before our planned stop. On private tours read the fine print. The tour operator sets the refund rules. In the past on a missed port they have varied from full to no refund. I am seeing many operators moving to a 10-20% non refundable booking fee.
  23. Different cruiselines have different rules. This rule has been the same on Celebrity for many many years and has not changed. Sadly information received from Celebrity via their website is often in error and sometimes contradictory or unclear. For example their mobile site has differences in Captain's Club benefits from the full site. We have received checkin details for cruises that Celebrity has cancelled weeks before.
  24. Weather is usually good, but certainly impossible to predict. You can get storms in any month any place.
  25. Here in Arizona the country health departments are giving them out for free. Walgreens has on the shelf at under $7.
