I will make this short.
While yesterday was a happy day for us in that we received good news from Jim’s neurologist, today we received very sad news.
My friend Anita, who had her kidney removed on March 11, passed away on March 27. Her funeral is Tuesday, April 16. I only found out about it today. It makes me so sad. I never found out what hospital she was in or was able to get in touch with anyone who knew anything. Her obituary was in the newspaper today.
Please keep her in your prayers.
Thanks
TerriMy condolences, Terri, on the loss of your friend, Anita. I'm sorry you are just now finding out. That makes it harder.

I'm a newbie, and lurker...
But these Indian dishes look lovely and delicious. Thank you!
I'll learn protocol and how this all works as I continue lurking...
And a huge thank you for these recipe pages! YUM!
I'm from Texas and Galveston is my home port. I've been looking into some HAL cruises and was invited to read this thread. Cozumel is a frequent port for me... and mostly on Carnival. But as a CCL Shareholder, I'll enjoy benefits on HAL, too!
Sorry for me blurting out here, and thank you!
Welcome to the Daily! We'd love to have you blurt out a bit more!

@RMLincoln I'm glad the report from the oncologist was a good one! Warm thoughts to you, your DB and family with the developments of your SIL. I wish her and the family peace and comfort.
@Cruzin Terri Great news on Jim and I'm glad it is forward progress on the trip to Italy.

Good morning, everyone!
We have another chilly rainy day in store here in mid-Michigan. The high is only 46F and rain is supposed to last all day. I started the day by spilling a full cup of coffee all over the desk and floor. The fortunate part is most of the carpet was covered by a plastic mat for the chair. What a mess. And what a waste of good coffee!
Not much on the agenda for today. Farkle is postponed until tomorrow as tonight DB and DSIL will be going to their grandson's birthday celebration. Probably a good day for movies and popcorn after the gym.
I'll take a pass on today's meal due to the carb load. But, it might be good as a side dish with small servings. This first recipe is for the instant pot or top of the stove. https://www.skinnytaste.com/lentil-curry/
This recipe is a bit more complicated, but I bet the flavor is great. https://www.chelseasmessyapron.com/lentil-curry/
Here's one more recipe that is somewhere between the first two on complexity. https://www.recipetineats.com/lentil-curry-mega-flavour-lentil-recipe/
I hope this finds everyone well and wish you a wonderful day.

Good morning, everyone!
We have rain today and it is supposed to last all day and be heavy at times. High is forecast to be 50F. It will be a good day for some inside work. Perhaps I can get the borders to my quilt cut and ready to be sewn on. Going to the gym this morning and then a zoom meeting at 11:15. Nothing else on the agenda after that.
Happy Birthday to @Haljo1935's DH!
Today's meal sounds interesting and with the cauliflower crust in the first recipe within my carb limits. I fear most of the topping would fall off and I'd end up eating it as a salad. https://www.eatingwell.com/recipe/7890177/3-ingredient-chicken-caesar-flatbread/
This one uses pita bread as the crust. https://recipecenter.giantfoodstores.com/recipes/148614/chicken-caesar-flatbread
And this one uses naan bread. https://www.callmepmc.com/20-minute-chicken-caesar-flatbread/
With the exception of what is used as the flatbread, most of the recipes are very similar.
Hoping this finds everyone well and wishing you all a wonderful day.

I'm loving all the pictures of siblings. @Haljo1935 I love the cup! I'm sure the tea tastes a lot better from that one!
@smitty34877 How wonderful that your mom started you all on cruising. I'm sure she really enjoyed having all her kids with her on that cruise.
@Cruising-along Beautiful pictures! Sisters Weekends are the greatest. We haven't done one is a while as the pandemic put a damper on them. Sue, Barb, and I did one, but Jodie wouldn't come as it was too dangerous.

My siblings and I are pretty close as siblings go. Well, Sue wanted to trade the brothers for a pony, but Dad wouldn't go for it. Mom's biggest worry was that when she and Dad were gone that we'd kind of go our own ways. We sort of have done that, but we make a point of getting together as siblings each year. We also have a family picnic in the summer and all the grandkids and great grandkids come.
Dad liked to take pictures on Sundays after church, so we had to sit on the couch or the coffee table and pose. You can see that we were very happy to do this.
This was a Saturday in early fall.
A variation of sitting on the couch was standing on the porch. This was in winter and Sue is showing you how cold it was out there.

Good morning, everyone!
It is going to be a very nice day here in mid-Michigan. The sun is shining and the temperature is supposed to reach 70F. My plan is to enjoy it while it is here. Tomorrow is colder with rain. I'm heading to the gym this morning and then plan on some yard work this afternoon.
The eye is much better. I just have a scab of some sort on the upper lid. I would say the infection is all cleared up, but I'll use the eye drops to completion. Thank you for including me on the care list, @JazzyV Vanessa, but I think I can come off now.
Stuffed cabbage is ok by me, but I prefer the carnivore type. I'm sure these are great, but the carb count is too high for me. I try to limit to 30 grams of carbs in a meal and these have 61g. https://www.eatingwell.com/recipe/252621/vegetarian-stuffed-cabbage/
They look good, but I'm still passing on them. The next recipe says only 23g carbs for each roll. That would leave me kind of hungry. https://www.lazycatkitchen.com/baked-vegan-cabbage-rolls/
The two previous recipes had mushrooms in the stuffing. This one does not. I think I'd prefer the mushroom stuffing, but some people don't like the shrooms. https://www.themediterraneandish.com/vegetarian-stuffed-cabbage-rolls/
Hoping this finds you all well and wishing you a wonderful day!

Good morning, everyone!
What a day yesterday. Traffic was heavy to and from Toledo, but we made it with time to spare to see the eclipse. We got off the highway and took back roads into town and that helped. Unfortunately, others discovered our back road route for the trip home and even though we waited several hours after the event, roads were clogged. A 2.5 hour trip took us a little over 4 hours. But, it was totally worth it.
Nothing is on the agenda for today. I may go to the gym and I may not. After yesterday's events, I want a day of rest.
Now, for dinner. We actually had the broccoli and egg muffins a few weeks ago, so I looked for some variations of egg muffins. The first one is very adaptable and you can make up a bunch and have them ready in the fridge for a busy morning. https://www.allrecipes.com/recipe/278443/easy-breakfast-egg-muffins/
I wish I had one of those right now! This next one has bell peppers, tomatoes and cheese. Sundried tomatoes would be great in these! https://sallysbakingaddiction.com/egg-muffins-recipe/
This last one has bacon in it. Who can resist bacon? Mmmm https://www.dinneratthezoo.com/breakfast-egg-muffins/
I hope this gives you all a great idea for breakfast! I like to start the day out with some protein and these low-carb muffins are the way to go for me!
Hoping this finds you all well and wishing you a wonderful day!

Is it possible to switch the website to a desktop version site? Has anyone tried this? I’d like to give it a shot but can’t find this option on the website.
I don't think it will matter. I have all the same problems on my desktop, laptop, and phone.

Good morning, everyone!
We have a balmy start to the day and looking forward to mostly sunny skies and a high of 75. That forecast is always welcome! It is looking good for the eclipse so we are making the trek to Toledo where we'll watch the eclipse from a friend's front yard.
The eye seems a little better this morning. It looks like it has drained a bit as it isn't as swollen or sore. We'll see as the day wears on how it does. It is generally better in the morning.
Today's meal sounds like one I would like to try. I better hurry and do it though as grilling season is fast approaching. https://www.budgetbytes.com/creamy-spinach-artichoke-chicken/
That looks really good to me! This next one doesn't have as much sauce and that can be a good thing if you're watching calories. https://downshiftology.com/recipes/spinach-artichoke-chicken-bake/
Here's spinach and artichoke dip on your chicken. https://www.saltandlavender.com/spinach-artichoke-chicken/
Hoping this finds you all well and wishing you a wonderful day! Be careful looking at the eclipse.

Thank you to all who expresssed concern about my symptons this morning. My medication has remained the same for over 2 months so I doubt that it is medication related. If it happens again I think I will call 911 to go to E.R. as I certainly would not be able to drive to a doctor's office.
Jane
That sounds like a smart idea. Something was going on if it wasn't medication and that is more scary. Maybe you should call the office tomorrow anyways.

Made it home to a very windy and chilly Durango this afternoon. I do feel sometimes that I am still on the ship. The plane trip San Diego to Phoenix to Durango was easy except for having to be a the airport for a 6:20 morning departure. It may take a day or so for my body to realize that we are back on dry land. I will pick up the dogs at the kennel tomorrow morning and then tackle a very dusty and disorganized house. And taxes. Going to be a busy week. No one is going to cook for me or straighten my room.
Welcome home!

@Cruising-along Welcome home! I'm sure you all had a wonderful time! The boys will be so excited to see you and Henry!
@luvteaching Hugs to you, Karen. Lean on us when you need to.
@kazu Sorry you are under the weather. Hopefully some of the aches and pains are due to the weather and will resolve as it gets better. That is what I blame everything on.

Good morning, everyone!
It is a frosty start to the day here in mid-Michigan, but we will warm to about 60F with sunny skies. It will be a nice day for a stroll through the gardens. The eye is pretty much the same. It isn't as painful, but it is still swollen.
The weather is looking good for our eclipse journey. We have a nice spot all picked out.
Bon Voyage to @Heartgrove's DW, @Overhead Fred, and @Vict0riann
Everyone has a favorite potato salad recipe and it is usually what Mom made. I know my Mom's potato salad would rank higher than the recipes. These are an attempt to make them healthy and the main way they do that is to substitute for the mayo in the potato salad. Hmmm, we shall see. https://www.wellplated.com/healthy-potato-salad/
This one uses a bit of mayo and mixes it with Greek yogurt. https://www.healthyseasonalrecipes.com/healthy-classic-potato-salad-with-hard-boiled-eggs/
You can pair that healthy potato salad with a delicious grilled hamburger. Here are directions from Bobby Flay: https://www.foodnetwork.com/recipes/bobby-flay/perfect-burger-recipe-1957542
Hoping this finds everyone well and wishing you all a wonderful day!

Good morning, everyone!
The rain has left us for a while and we have bright, sunshiny skies. Temps are supposed to get up to the mid 60s today, so a beautiful day in store for mid-Michigan. Nothing is on the agenda for today other than a trip to the gym. I like these kinds of days.
@puppycanducruise My condolences on the loss of your friend. She was so young.
@AncientWanderer Bon Voyage. I hope you enjoy every moment of your cruise.
Today's meal is interesting. I don't know that I'd actually make it, but I would try it if it was made for me. It looks easy enough and I'm guessing you could make it easier with a prepared pie crust. https://www.stephaniesdish.com/recipe/swiss-chard-and-double-goat-cheese-tart/
This next one contains leeks and pine nuts. Makes it interesting. https://www.healthyseasonalrecipes.com/swiss-chard-tart-with-chevre-and-leeks/
And here's one with a current and pine nut relish. https://joanne-eatswellwithothers.com/2019/01/swiss-chard-and-goat-cheese-tart-with-a-currant-pine-nut-relish.html
I hope this has found all of you well and I wish you all a wonderful day.
