  1. I’m not disagreeing with you, I agree that as a whole, not just on cruises, kids probably behaved better 25-30 years ago. But either way, Carnival isn’t going to police language of guests. They cannot and don’t have time for it. Now, if the “kids” in serenity were being rowdy, or doing something against the rules, yes they could enforce it. They could remind them of the rules or ask them to leave. If you’re removed so many times you don’t get to come back. But I just don’t think they’re going to do that over language.
  2. Honestly, I don’t think it is. Unless you think the kids will be drinking a lot of soda. Like 3 or mor a day every day. It does not include other things like cheers does so it’s just soda. No Gatorade, milkshakes etc.
  3. Security is for sure not going to monitor language. And honestly the guys that stand by at the pools, are they security? I don’t really think they are. I remember they’re really just watching to make sure you follow the pool rules like no running, no diving etc.
  4. Correct! And fttf in January did not get use of the priority lounge either. Just so the OP knows. If I paid for fttf, I would personally be there before boarding starts, priority boarding happens pretty quickly.
  5. We had a similar experience on the Mardi Gras. We like our house between 65-68 as well. Sometimes I would close the balcony curtain to help cool off because of the way the sun was shining in. But the turbo mode really helped! We were comfortable on the Mardi Gras!
  6. So on the Mardi Gras in January, FTTF was a part of priority boarding. There was the on time line, the late line, and the priority line. So, although we were suites and not FTTF, it was my understanding that it didn’t matter what arrival appointment you selected at check in, you could arrive any time you wanted and get in that priority line. If you got there before boarding started you would board when they called fttf. If you got there after you would go though security and board in the priority line. I hope that makes sense. So if you checked in and got a noon appointment, you could still choose to arrive at 10:30 if you wanted to.
  7. I feel like the earlier you can get on board and get to guest services the better. The first 2 days on the Mardi Gras was super busy at guest services. But muster wasn’t bad. I feel like the potential to wait a long time for muster isn’t as big as a deal.
  8. When should we expect to see carnival release Alaska 2025 itineraries? I really want to book something for summer 2025. Summer 2024 is off the table, we have the jubilee booked. Can anyone remember when the 2024 itinerary came out?
  9. I’m really enjoying your review. And you’re making me really want to try an Alaskan cruise. Do you have any excursions booked? I know Alaskan excursions can be $$$ and we’re not big organized tour people. I always wondered if we could have fun in Alaska just wandering around on our own.
  10. So they call it cruise elegant now you’ll see a wide range of people who really want to dress up nicely and then others who don’t want to. I don’t think there’s any ships that don’t do it at all. But you’re not required to do it.
  11. Oh there’s flamingos at the port area in costa maya? That’s pretty much what we just did on our cruise. We just stayed in the port area as we weren’t sure what our kiddos (currently 4) would enjoy. We were more than fine doing that and still would be for this cruise. I just don’t know anything about this port, so I wasn’t sure if there was anything that is a don’t miss activity!
  12. We’re in the beginning stages of planning a cruise next summer. We’re going to Cozumel, mahogany bay, and costa maya. We know we want to do the beach in mahogany bay, unsure of Cozumel yet, and we’ve never been to costa maya. Our kids are still on the young side, they’ll be almost 6 for this cruise. I am hoping to find something that they would love without breaking the bank. Any family friendly things you can think of? I’m not at all against doing a ship excursion but don’t necessarily want to wander off on our own like we did before kids.
  13. Do you know how much the magic chair rides are if you don’t have a cabana?
  14. So it’s neither. It’s a couch, but the part you sit on flips over to make a bed. My 4 year old twins shared it because they didn’t want to do the Pullman. It was a tight fit that wouldn’t probably work when they’re older, but they didn’t mind this time. I attached a pic.
  15. Honestly, if you have an itinerary and a deal you’re willing to book, do it. Especially in the Havana area I think you’ll be fine. Is the service comparable with Celebrity? Probably not. But, that doesn’t mean you won’t have a good time! I’d say go for it.
  16. Ugh the speakers. I don’t mind them when people use them in their rooms. But one past cruise we had a balcony neighbor who had their own dance club on their balcony. Like dude, no one wants to hear it.
  17. Thanks for doing a live review. I’m sure they’re a lot of work but I really enjoyed it!
  18. Wow, your pictures are incredible! Barcelona is for sure on my bucket list one day.
  19. I thought the same thing and wondered who else would comment!
  20. Wonderful review so far! I can’t wait to read more. Thanks for putting the time into this!
