Rare Woobstr112G Posted October 28, 2012 #101 Share Posted October 28, 2012 Amelia, Vickie, Pia and Toto: This one's for you! My friend Cathy and I got organized and left for the port at about 10 am. Priority check-in was easy with no wait whatsoever. We were told we were going to port in Boston but no details were given. We met Mary Kay and Roland in the waiting room and boarded just before 12 noon and had no trouble bringing on our wine. I should mention that the NYPD had a sniffer dog in the terminal. I guess they must have heard that this was going to be a party cruise We easily found our window suite and were very pleased. I love that we are so close to the water. We have two nice big windows, flowers and a fruit basket. Ricardo from the Phillipines is our room steward. His cabins include all the window suites and some cabins on deck 5. Wow! We met Mary Kay for lunch in the dining room and shared a bottle of nice Pino Grigio. I had the spinach and ricotta ravioli, appetizer size, the salmon with dill butter, and the orange souflee, smaller but a better size in my opinion. All were delicious. When we returned to our suite we found our evening canapes already delivered. What's up with that? Our luggage was already there and Ricardo delivered our complimentary Champagne (the good stuff in case you were wondering). I drank both because Cathy is not fond of Champagne. We unpacked.and are all moved in. The weather is warm, humid and cloudy with bursts of sunshine. The waters are calm so far, as is the wind. Muster is at 4 pm and we are due to sail at 5 pm. Headed for Boston on Monday, porting in Boston tomorrow night at 11 pm, Monday in Boston, then play it by ear when we see what Sandy is doing. Carolyn; Hope you and Cathy have a great cruise, despite of Sandy.....:):):) Bob
RNGALNG Posted October 28, 2012 #102 Share Posted October 28, 2012 May the forces be with them all as they sail to who knows where! May the food hold out and the wine flow! Can't wait to hear of all the fun they have! What stories we will hear upon their return! Hopefully we will get updates from someone onboard during too! If this is a 4 day cruise and you're spending Sunday night and Monday in Boston, are you going to a foreign port on Tuesday? Don't you disembark on Wednesday?? Pam in CA Posted October 28, 2012 #104 Share Posted October 28, 2012 I'm not sure I understand. If this is a 4 day cruise and you're spending Sunday night and Monday in Boston, are you going to a foreign port on Tuesday? Don't you disembark on Wednesday??As discussed previously, it's possible to request and get a waiver to the PVSA due to unusual circumstances. Chances are, this is what Princess has done. luvtheships Posted October 28, 2012 #105 Share Posted October 28, 2012 I just had Limoncello for the first time on my cruise back in June & loved it:D. Is it considered a wine...can I bring it on with me? Thanks we were in the Med this summer also and at our Naples port there was a store giving samples of the stuff:eek:..it was 100 degrees..we were exhausted from our day in gorgeous Capri...and just one sip of it and I was literally drunk!!!! Carolyn R Posted October 28, 2012 Author #109 Share Posted October 28, 2012 It is 11 pm and we are hightailing it out of Dodge. I can feel the motion of the ocean which I love but nothing extreme. I had lady luck by my side in the casino tonight after a very nice dinner in Sabatini's which was a suite perk. We did get charged the corking fee for the bottle of wine we brought on board and the waiter did not get an additional tip. I will talk to you all tomorrow. The internet sucks. Sorry for the double post.

emcee207 Posted October 28, 2012 #113 Share Posted October 28, 2012 A good seafood restaurant within a mile of the ship would be the new Legal SeaFoods flagship restaurant "Legal Harborside". Three levels right on the water, great food and fun atmosphere. Might be fun for a close place to the ship depending on the weather. Try the White Clam Pizza, yum! And there are a few other places at the same location, a steak house, a mexican place and a sports bar "Jerry Remy's", one of our tv announcers for the Red Sox. Have fun! compozer Posted October 28, 2012 #114 Share Posted October 28, 2012 Looking forward to meeting everyone this morning - 11:00 Skywalkers - Right? I woke up twice and it looked like we were going to have a great photo op for a sunrise picture but all of a sudden it was cloudy. I hope everyone on the west coast and Canada are safe after the earthquake.

Bouy average in your area has the winds at 29 knots at 78°F, 18°C. Should not be too rough on-board. I just did an AIS track on your position and the ship is just East of Newport and now heading North East around Cape Cod. The ETA for Boston is 2 AM Monday. The Captain has been taking his time going only 16.6 knots all night and just reduced to 13.4 knots following the turn. Carolyn R Posted October 28, 2012 Author #120 Share Posted October 28, 2012 It is Sunday morning and the seas have gotten a little rougher but not bad so far. The sun is shining into our cabin. I love the window suite and being down low so close to the water. The spray is flying by our windows. We are somewhere in the north Atlantic cruising. We just had breakfast at Sabatini's, very nice. The ship is very quiet this morning. I think we are still on a mystery cruise and I have my doubts about going to Boston as I hear the storm is intensifying. I also have my doubts that we will get back into Brooklyn on Wednesday. Mike, I will let you know about the suite internet when I check my folio. Donna, I have a corkscrew. I am in F301. compozer Posted October 28, 2012 #121 Share Posted October 28, 2012 Carolyn, You should have unlimited internet since you booked before July 15th. I brought a copy of my letter from Princess that lists my upcoming cruises booked in suites to prove I booked before they changed the policy. When we logged in, they gave us our Captain Circle minutes so we'll see what happens when we use them up.
