Everything.. ESCAPE (live 29 Oct 2015!)

Recommended Posts

I bet that´s more than optimistic as Meyer Werft speaker told the NDR TV station the ems conveyance is planned to start at noon on Wednesday. So unless the ship can be at two locations at the same time...:D

It´s a bit weiry that Meyer Werft still hasn´t disclosed any schedule. This is pretty late!! Usually a time table is announced about a week ahead. It may be revised due to weather conditions. But this time there´s nothing so far.

Severe weather warning for tomorrow due to high winds.

Arrival in Bremerhaven on Sept 25th, staying for one or two days, then off for sea trial.

They finish the ship (furniture, equipment, etc.) in Bremerhaven between Oct 2nd - 25th.

Due to the total weight of the ship they have to finish it after the conveyance.

This from the Eemshaven port website, apologies for the poor English blame a well known translation website for it's interpretation!

"The expectation is that the newest, most beautiful cruise ship Meyer Werft, the Norwegian Escape Wednesday, September 16th arrived around 12:00 at the mouth of the Eemshaven. This remains subject to weather conditions and water levels on the river Ems!

In connection with increasing international safety standards are unfortunately not allowed interested parties to stand on the docks and in the harbor areas. On the map below shows where it is possible to admire the Norwegian Escape.

It is expected that the cruise ship until September 23 remains in the Eemshaven. After that, a trial takes place."

The hand over to NCL is scheduled for Oct 22nd. She´s expected to arrive in Hamburg on the 23rd of October (there´s a two night pre inaugural out of Hamburg for media and travel agents). There´s a 2 night paid passenger cruise out of Hamburg on the 25th to Southampton.

Unfortunately the NWZ article doesn´t open. But according to google it was published a week ago. So I can´t say whether this is up to date (and how good FreestyleNovice´s German skills are ;)).

There´s some wind in the forecast for tomorrow (plus 90% chance of rain) but not for Wednesday (75% chance of rain).

I guess you are referring to a different weather forecast ... dwd.de

DWD offers just an overview for a region but not a detailed weather forecast on its website. Check out websites like wetter.com or wetter.de or wetteronline.de. They have a more detailed weather forecast (based on the data of DWD) and you can search for a certain location like Papenburg. I checked wetter.com and wetteronline.de - both do not show any heavy winds for Wednesday but only for tomorrow.

I did that already and they have occasionally strong winds "Böen" until Saturday.

FYI, the feed from the float out is still live, so you can get a quick verification of the current weather conditions. Looks rainy and dreary at the moment.

This is getting me more hyped, hopefully everyone will have a kickass time on their respective cruises.

Here's the original text from Google's cache:

„Escape“ nimmt Kurs auf Seestadt

Heiner Otto

BREMERHAVEN Die amerikanische Kreuzfahrtreederei Norwegian Cruise Line (NCL) hält Wort.

Rocky4ever, both websites did only show a slight wind for Wednesday but more for the rest of the week. I was only referring to the forecast for tomorrow (Wednesday).

Thanks, FreestyleNovice, you´re German skills are pretty well! Anway that article was published Sep 8th. The confirmation by the spokesperson of Meyer Werft via NDR was a little later. In case those dates are correct I assume she will go to Eemshafen first and then move over to Bremerhaven on the 25th (still assuming an Ems conveyance tomorrow). Then more sea trials and back to Bremerhaven on Oct 2nd. BTW now the NWZ websites works again.

Still no details by Meyer Werft. NDR is talking about noon tomorrow.

Don´t think it´s glass. And the only thing you would see is the canopy of the band stand ;).

Got a confirmation for the conveyance for tomorrow. A press release by Meyer Werft is to come later (whenever) this afternoon. Of course it´s still depending on the weather conditions.

Those new screens look great!

And that catwalk above the podium, could that be a glass floor?

That would be an odd place to put a glass floor, since there's nothing to see below it.

Great picture! Thanks for sharing.

It looks like only 2 hot tubs by the main pool, compared to 4 on BA/GA. Maybe because of the cantilevered ones a couple decks above?
