Because of our work commitments and our DD college committments we can only travel once a year and it is now in August next year............prices are high, like they usually are for summer months.

One day when we move to another month or (months:D) we will be able to cruise more by paying less, since we wont be at "prime" time.

Sue, I know what you mean about peak pricing. I was in education, so for 30 years I was tied to a school schedule for vacations. That meant crowded, Spring Break or holiday (top dollar) cruises. I retired in 2012, and it's a whole new ball game. I just upgraded on the Oasis (week before Thanksgiving). My husband and I are in an Aqua Theater suite for less than we paid for a JS on the Voyager one year at Spring Break!

On deck 11 and 12, on both sides of the new Wonderland there are two sets of stairs. Are they open to passengers? Any pro knows? :)

No, that´s crew only. Deck 11 and 12 are connected by that spiral staircase which is shown on the deck plan.

If I remember correct we sailed with you on Oasis in May of 2012.

Indeed we did! And doing it again this coming May (this time with my DS, DIL, and GD). By most reports, she will be a fully transformed ship by then.

We sailed with you as well 3 dog (Randy if I remember right) on that great Grand Suite deal. You were kind enough to send me pictures of me on the zipline!

Indeed I remember you too! And yes, that was an awesome deal. Hoping to be similarly lucky this cruise too, but I have become enough used to the GS, that this is my starting point, so luck could well be to one of the two new suites on deck 17. :D

Hey, come join us (A&L too); we'll call it a "Reunion Cruise"!

Since that cruise I only will book GS or RFS when I see a good deal, since we can drive and airfare isn't an issue. Booked a GS Oasis last May for September break at the start of the BOGO sale for 1749 pp minus my Diamond discount, then saw the threads about the new GS and booked 11330 immediatly. I got lucky again.

When are you sailing again?

Too funny. We were actually looking at May, but decided for November. I remember Irishgal by her roll call name too.

As you have become to the GS, we have fallen prey to the SLS on the Oasis class. We have stayed in the RS on Allure (which sounds like it will too disappear post dry dock) and the RLS on Oasis a couple of times. I can only imagine what the new RS will look like as a hybrid of both.

You had a sign in your cabin on the cabin crawl, wasn't it "SOL Travel Agency". It's been so long I can't remember though.

If you actually look the the different time periods there is a discrepancy for deck 17.

Oasis Deck Plans from Deck Plans from 14-Oct-2014 to 27-Oct-2014 and 01-Nov-2014 to 30-May-2015 show the new RS, suite lounge as well as the costal kitchen on deck 17.

Oasis Deck Plans from 06-Jun-2015 to 30-Apr-2016 show the new RS, suite lounge and ck gone and the space has reverted back to the VCL on deck 17.

Lots of construction just to change it back. :p:D Good old RC IT.

Edit:

Some of the other decks revert back to the original deck plans for the June 6, 2015 time period and after on my iPad. For example Cup Cake cupboard is gone until May 2015 on deck 5, and then it is back after June 6, 2015 on deck 5.

I wonder is it RC IT, or the latest software update from Apple:confused:

So OA's Coastal Kitchen will not allow JS passengers?

I have to admit that I cruise on a budget. I usually book a balcony cabin, but then have always enjoyed eating in the dining room and not paying for the premium restaurants. With this dynamic dining concept, will there still be free dining rooms that offer the same sort of food and table service as previously offered? I have not sailed on the super mega ships yet, and wondered what is "Wonderland?"

I was just getting ready to take the plunge and try out the mega sized ships, and now I am thinking that I should just stay with the smaller class size.

On Oasis, there will be three complimentary restaurants in place of the dining room, and on Quantum, there will be four. Their menus remain the same each night, but you can choose whichever one you want to eat at each night. There will be an additional complimentary restaurant on both Oasis and Quantum that is for suite guests (either Junior or Grand Suites and above, not sure)..

Wonderland is a new specialty restaurant that will be on Quantum, Anthem, and Oasis.

There will still be free dining venues, but the menus will not be the same as the current dining room menus.

I also wonder what wonderland is and it's supposed to double as a lounge. I am currently booked in a nearby cabin and hope it will not be noisy.

I think the patrons could be a little boisterous. It's kind of a food as art concept. That turns dinner and possibly after dinner into a show. Not as bad as a disco though

Looks like its not just RCCL adding cabins

New Island Princess

The new deck plans are now posted for the Island Princess.

Added about 121 new cabins, 242 passengers at 2 per cabin. They include full suites, balcony cabins, OV and inside, and are on decks 14,12,11,10,9,7,6.

Eliminated:

360 degree promenade, which will now be "U" shaped.

The entire Universe Lounge.

Sanctuary Pool

Portion of the Youth Center

Moved or changed:

Churchill's

Sanctuary, which is enlarged and totally on Deck 15 aft

Fitness Center

Smaller Casino

Missing: International Cafe.

121 cabins, Oasis i think was 41

Indeed! I'm wondering if those were a tease, and we will see "real" ones on Tuesday. Or, more likely, that someone inadvertently made them live sooner than they were supposed to. In any case, I am still not sure why there is so much secrecy. I hope there is some significant WOW when the announcements officially come.

The American Cruise ships never had a "class" distinction as to who could use facilities and dining venues. Now with RC and othe companies having dining options open to only the higher priced cabins, or the larger pocketbook passengers, they are starting to make a definite distinction just as the Cunard ships do.

It's been going on for a lot longer than you realize. NCL, had had it for years, Oasis an Allure have had full lunch an breakfast in CL since inception. Celebrity had it as well. Heck I even think Carnival had a spa restaurant for those cabins
