Dynamic Dining postponed for Oasis & Allure

i understand the harmony will have dynamic dining or classic rotational.

if you pick classic how will a table number go on your sea pass card when you will rotate every night to a different dining room?

confused.

I have understood that those that opt for classic are given a schedule in their cabin. They then have table numbers for the classic section in each dining room that will correspond with the rotational identification on the sea pass. You are seated on arrival at each dining room and your tablemates are escorted as well to that evenings assigned table.

Ships with dynamic dining don't have table numbers on the seapass card - the classic option simply gives you a standing reservation (instead of doing it yourself) within the system. As mentioned above, the details of that reservation (table, order of venues, etc.) is given in the cabin upon embarkation.

Biker, who wonders what the % of classic dining reservations are allowed per ship (Oasis class ships could have higher % vs. Quantum class due to the higher seating capacity).

It's my understanding that for classic you do have the same table number for all the restaurants, so I would guess that this number could be printed on your sea pass card.

As we have seen in the past six months, virtually everything with dynamic dining is subject to change.

i was on Oasis twice 2 and 3 weeks ago. late seating traditional. we were in silk (deck 5) both times. deck 3 (american icon) was MTD and deck 4, i don't remember what it was.

MDT was deck 3? Does deck 3 have less seating capacity that it did before the drydock? Or, perhaps MTD is starting to outnumber traditional on this ship?

Last time we were on, before dry dock, MTD was on Deck 5, with traditional on Decks 3-4. Is there still a Captain's Table on Deck 3?

MTD is deck three because when traditional fills up (in advance) MTD is all that is available. from deck 4 and 5 you used to be able to look down and se the captains table. it is not visable from up above now.

after you get your number of nights for rotational, what do they give you? pay dining?

don't know if i mentioned i am asking these questions based on quantum/anthem because i am looking at Harmony. not oasis or allure.

Not exactly sure what you mean here...but if you're asking where you go after you've eaten at all the restaurants once, you just repeat them in the sam order. Of course, you can go go to specialty dining if your choose.

I think I read that the menus will change once mid-cruise.

The other day I emailed C&A to ask about DD and express my thoughts on how I would at least like to know if they have any plan to implement DD on Oasis and Allure, and if I will have it on my January cruise. I wasn't expecting any information that I didn't already know, but I figured I'd give it a shot. Today I received a response. One sentence caught my attention, as I hadn't seen it written before (usually the reps will just respond with exactly what is written on the website. Here it is... "There has been no new information regarding when, or if, the plan will continue." Prior to this email, I had not seen them reference the phrase "or if".

Not really a big deal, but it made me wonder whether or not they are still sticking with their plan of "later in the year".

Yes, each restaurant has a "Classics" menu that consists of, I think, a beef, chicken, fish, and pasta dish.

Yes, that does sound a bit different than previous communiques. I won't hold my breath for the changeover, at least for our upcoming Oasis sailings. Thanks for making the effort to email them. :)

  • 3 weeks later...
Well it looks like no dynamic dining on Oasis class, including Harmony.

(Hopefully this link is allowed).

Thanks for posting. I wonder if they will change the names of the Dining rooms on Oasis and Allure.

That's too bad. I was looking forward to the new menus that DD had to offer.

Thanks for posting.

Now I need to decide what we want to do, early , late or MTD.

Any suggestions as to what's best for dinner and still seeing the shows? What are the set dining times 6:15 & 8:00 ?

Usually 6pm and 8:30pm. We have early seating on Oasis and have had no problem scheduling shows.
