eepellet Posted April 7, 2016 #1 Share Posted April 7, 2016 I've seen people mention that they found out how many ships will be in a port on a certain day. How do you do that?
Clarea Posted April 7, 2016 #2 Share Posted April 7, 2016 I've seen people mention that they found out how many ships will be in a port on a certain day. How do you do that? I use cruisett.com.
Rare Essiesmom Posted April 7, 2016 #3 Share Posted April 7, 2016 http://www.cruisetimetables.com Cruisecal.com - use itinerary lookup from the menu bar. the rest of the site is member only. Some recommend cruisett.com, but their accuracy is erratic. EM
Shmoo here Posted April 7, 2016 #4 Share Posted April 7, 2016 I primarily use http://www.cruisetimetables.com/ But you can google the port(s) you're interested in. For example Grand Cayman Port Schedule.

kdkstormy Posted April 7, 2016 #7 Share Posted April 7, 2016 I look at each port and go to that port's website. Found that is the most accurate. As some said cruisett isn't always very accurate
Rare Keith1010 Posted April 7, 2016 #8 Share Posted April 7, 2016 kdstormy has it right. Many ports actually have schedules. That is the most accurate. I find that the sites mentioned are not always up to date, have inaccurate information and for several ports such as those outside the USA/Caribbean do not include several ships that are part of cruise lines that are not the typical ones that USA based passengers sail. kayjay76 Posted April 9, 2016 #10 Share Posted April 9, 2016 Hi everyone, whats the norm for the number of ships in a port? First time cruiser here :) 2 of 3 of our ports have 3 total and one just has our ship. Is 3 the norm or is that a lot? Thank you!!!
kayjay76 Posted April 9, 2016 #11 Share Posted April 9, 2016 this seemed to be a great site to check as well for ports: http://ports.cruisett.com/
wheezedr Posted April 9, 2016 #12 Share Posted April 9, 2016 Hi everyone, whats the norm for the number of ships in a port? First time cruiser here :) 2 of 3 of our ports have 3 total and one just has our ship. Is 3 the norm or is that a lot? Thank you!!! Can vary all over the place. Depends on where you are cruising and time of year. You can be on the only ship in port or can be up to 5 or 6 in a place like st. Thomas. Greatest impact often in tender ports or places where you have to battle for transportation. Also nice to know how many passengers as well as the port time of the other ships. For instance I am going to santorini next month and the number of other passengers will impact lines for the cable car. I use what's in port but like others have said none of the websites is 100% accurate
kdkstormy Posted April 9, 2016 #13 Share Posted April 9, 2016 this seemed to be a great site to check as well for ports: http://ports.cruisett.com/ While they do seem to have all the info it isn't always accurate as others have stated. Which is why I check the actual port website for that location.
LynnTTT Posted April 9, 2016 #14 Share Posted April 9, 2016 Type in the name of the port + cruise ships and you'll get a link somewhere
OCruisers Posted April 9, 2016 #15 Share Posted April 9, 2016 None of the sites are completely accurate ... but will give you some idea of what to expect.
zqvol Posted April 9, 2016 #16 Share Posted April 9, 2016 The ONLY sites that are 100% accurate are the ports own web sites, but keep in mind that they can change and be updated on a daily basis.
slidergirl Posted April 9, 2016 #17 Share Posted April 9, 2016 I just used this to see what ships will be in San Juan for when I'm staying at the Sheraton Old Town (I'm not going on a cruise). Looks like I'll be waking up to a full pier at the Old Town dock!! Now, I have to figure out how to negotiate a free upgrade to that full harbor view suite!!! I'd love to be able to sit out on that balcony, with a drink in my hand, and look at the ships all lit up at night!
Krazy Kruizers Posted April 9, 2016 #18 Share Posted April 9, 2016 I have found that cruisetimetables is more accurate than some of the other sites -- other than just going and searching each port. Once I get the names of the ships, I use this site: http://www.shipparade.com/ to find out how many passengers the other ships can hold.
