auntiedodo Posted August 14, 2016 #1 Share Posted August 14, 2016 We monitor our bill constantly to correct any "mistakes" immediately. We got our bill yesterday morning and owed $0.98 and that was because the casino charged us for taking our OBC out to gamble...we explained we were gambling, again, but the guy wouldn't remove it. Oh well...BUT whe we checked out bill once we got home this morning there was a charge for $14.80! We never used the minibar...can't get anyone to remove the charge. Don't mind getting stiffed once, but twice? Sitting on rot to customer service!

39august Posted August 14, 2016 #3 Share Posted August 14, 2016 Does the charge show as "pending"? That has happened to us and I was told it would drop off automatically. Guess what? It did the next day. So maybe wait to call and see if the charge disappears.

Now apparently they aren't, so do what I've started doing. Set up your Seapass account as a cash account. I've done this more than once now and the only negative is that I have to settle my account by 11 pm the last night.

If you dispute the charge on your credit card, that particular card will be flagged, and you will not be able to use it on a future cruise. luvscruising2007 Posted August 14, 2016 #12 Share Posted August 14, 2016 (edited) This happened to us after our last cruise. I discovered it when we got home. Because we booked with a local travel agent, I stopped in her agency and she took care of it for me. Also, contacting RC on the after cruise number should take care of the issue. Also, we had a credit one time after a cruise. It was for almost $100 dollars. RC couldn't explain it. TA checked it out and the credit stood. RC didn't know why. Said we were overcharged. auntiedodo Posted August 16, 2016 Author #14 Share Posted August 16, 2016 Thanks for the advice to call post cruise customer support: (800) 256-6649 This morning there were MORE charges and they had gone through so I called customer support and the very nice woman said they were "mini bar" charges which we never used. She said she would reverse them. Will wait and see. In October we will have the mini bar emptied at the start of the cruise!

RoyalDiamond Posted August 16, 2016 #16 Share Posted August 16, 2016 It has happened to us once or twice...very annoying. But they've always removed the charges. Now we also do a "cash account." It has pros and cons, but the biggest benefit to a cash account is NO FEE when withdrawing cash (on board credit) from the casino. They usually limit you to $300 per day in this case, so if you have more than that, don't wait until the end of the cruise to do it... Tralynn222 Posted August 16, 2016 #17 Share Posted August 16, 2016 A funny story happened to us last year on Oasis. My husband and I both had the Premium beverage pkg. One night at dinner, I was coughing, more like a "clearing my throat" kinda cough and a server (not our server) walked up to our table and set a bottle of water down in front of me. I never thought twice about it, I picked it up and drank it which helped me stop coughing. He never asked me for my card and he disappeared as quickly as he appeared. When we received our bill there was an 11.00 charge for water. When my husband went to dispute it, she mentioned it was purchased in the dining room. She did remove the charge once she saw that we had the beverage package, but we just couldn't believe that he charged us without any kind of notice, we didn't even order it.
ryano Posted August 16, 2016 #18 Share Posted August 16, 2016 (edited) There is no telling how much money they rake in on erroneous charges like this that go unnoticed. Mini fridge, towels, I bet it adds up. They likely wont but they should take a page out of Carnivals book and remove the mini fridge items totally. MOST cruisers seem to want it that way so they can keep their water in the fridge. For those that want the items, they could simply request the fridge to be stocked. Many, many years ago, when Mariner was sailing from Port Canaveral, I made the mistake of saying yes to Pelligrino while we were dining in Chops. Back then, it was around $8 or something close to that. I could see the $11 now for that large bottle.

That's exactly what my husband and I said. How did he charge us?? But when the customer rep said it was in the dining room, it came back to us. Because I never order water in the dining room, I always drink what they pour, it had to be that bottle he set in front of me. Before someone says that maybe it was a drink they charged me for, I don't order drinks in the dining room. I always try to hydrate with water at dinner after drinking all day so it had to be that bottle he set down in front of me.

The guy argued with me that I had to sign, even though I had a package. I agreed with him, but told him I would only sign a $0 slip. After a discussion between our waiter and the other waiter, not in English, with lots of looks towards me, I was given a $0 slip to sign.
