Momma Rene Posted September 13, 2016 #1 Share Posted September 13, 2016 We love breakfast! However, when looking at the Lumanie breakfast, it looked like less options as compared to Blu or the MDR. Can you go into Blu for breakfast when you are "assigned" Lumanie?
CHEZMARYLOU Posted September 13, 2016 #2 Share Posted September 13, 2016 Yes, you can go to Blu for any meal if you are in a suite. We didn't find the Luminae menu to be limiting and you can request items like yogurt and berries.
Karynanne Posted September 13, 2016 #3 Share Posted September 13, 2016 If you don't see something on the Luminae menu, just ask for it. They'll easily accommodate you. Sent from my iPhone using Forums
Northern Aurora Posted September 13, 2016 #4 Share Posted September 13, 2016 For those who enjoy huevos rancheros, we've found them to be excellent in Luminae.
absolutboy20 Posted September 13, 2016 #5 Share Posted September 13, 2016 (edited) I also thought the breakfast menu in Luminae is pretty comprehensive. What is it that you feel that you are missing? They also have assorted pastries that they will come around and offer from a large basket. Edited September 13, 2016 by absolutboy20
jelayne Posted September 13, 2016 #6 Share Posted September 13, 2016 I felt like there were more options for breakfast in Luminae than Blu. As someone else mentioned if you don't see what you want, or want something modified must ask & they will do their best to get it.
thebutlerdidit Posted September 13, 2016 #7 Share Posted September 13, 2016 I feel that there's something for everyone on each menu. Mix it up a little and visit them both. Then come back and let us know what you think.

If I ate one I couldn't eat much else but they were lovely.

I guess I will just ask! Perhaps I am comparing old menus.
cynbar Posted September 13, 2016 #10 Share Posted September 13, 2016 Luminae is a space sectioned off from the MDR. If you want something from the MDR menu just ask, it should be very simple for them to bring it to you. Blu is in a different part of the ship, at least on S class, so that would be a little trickier although you can still ask.
twins_to_alaska Posted September 13, 2016 #11 Share Posted September 13, 2016 (edited) We thought there was a great selection on the Luminae breakfast menu. I'm sure if you wanted something else they'd make it. We were told that we could have filet mignon another night if we asked in advance... so sure you could have steak with eggs in morning. Wj420 Posted September 14, 2016 #12 Share Posted September 14, 2016 Breakfast in Luminae is one of the highlights. The last morning of the trip having a full relaxed breakfast in Luminae is the best! Enjoy.

ClaudiaB Posted September 14, 2016 #14 Share Posted September 14, 2016 You can get pancakes, waffles, delicious pastries, omelets or eggs any way you want, bacon, sausage, yogurt and granola and berries, cereal, grits, hash browns ----- in Luminae. Just ask if you don't see it on the menu. We love breakfast there. We also love it in Blu but it seems like there is more selection in Luminae. At least that was our experience. Happy Cruiser 6143 Posted September 14, 2016 #15 Share Posted September 14, 2016 Anybody know if they're restored the muesli cart to Blu? I don't believe that's offered in Luminae. That would be worth a detour to Blu if it's back.

They either assemble your order in the kitchen or in front of you.

Rare chemmo Posted September 14, 2016 #19 Share Posted September 14, 2016 (edited) The only thing we found a little lacking in Luminae was the fruit plates which had large chunks of melon and a few berries. The next day I asked for a fruit plate with less melon and more berries and got the same fruit plate with a tiny dish with a few extra berries in it! We did find the portion sizes large in Luminae and after leaving far too full the first few days of the cruise we varied Luminae with pastries and coffee in the room, Elite salmon bagels and even trips to the buffet (best place for my fruit selection). twins_to_alaska Posted September 14, 2016 #21 Share Posted September 14, 2016 I asked for mixed berries several days to mix into my plain yogurt.
Rare chemmo Posted September 14, 2016 #22 Share Posted September 14, 2016 You certainly got a bigger dish of berries than I did! I will ask again on our next cruise. Perhaps there were fewer on our cruise because of the location/itinerary (South Pacific)...They certainly had lots of melon!
Ayton lady Posted September 14, 2016 #23 Share Posted September 14, 2016 We have experienced 2 very different standards of Luminae breakfast. The first on Silhouette was SLOW, very little fruit offered, no decent tea and everything for the cooked breakfast delivered in separate small dishes. Recently on Solstice it was excellent. Lovely fruit with variety, good cooked options and Twinings tea. Couldn't have been happier. Still slightly slow service but when the breakfast is so good we didn't mind waiting. BunnyLebowski Posted September 14, 2016 #24 Share Posted September 14, 2016 Has anyone ever tried to order from the breakfast menu at lunchtime? Or successfully had any items from Luminae delivered to your suite?
ClaudiaB Posted September 14, 2016 #25 Share Posted September 14, 2016 I just ask for a bowl of berries. That and some yogurt and a small bowl of granola -- all in separate bowls --- and I mix it myself. When I want mixed fruit I ask for the specific fruits I want. With the language barrier they don't really "get" when you ask for something like "heavy on the berries." You know what I mean? You also have to ask them NOT to put on the asparagus and potato and mushroom garnish in Blu and other places. I would always leave it and hate for it to go to waste. That's too much food and seems more dinner-y to me. I also get berries at pretty much any venue I want. You just have to ask. And be specific. They have standard plates (pictures in the galley show that) but you can, in the smaller venues like Blu and Luminae and the specialties, have it how you want. Hey, they ought to use a similar slogan for a burger joint.... I find a good serving size of lettuces and of green veggies very lacking ship-wide. They're used more as a garnish. Like two small florets of broccoli. Seriously? So I ask. Voila! One of my favorite "my way" lunches in Luminae was a full plate of mixed greens with grilled chicken on top with some garnishes I specifically asked for: feta, blueberries, nuts and vinaigrette. He even said it should be on the menu!! Well duh. I've also asked for and received a little bowl of steamed broccoli or spinach or green beans to share for the table at dinner.
