Merion_Mom Posted October 25, 2016 #2 Share Posted October 25, 2016 Does anyone know if there would be a microwave available to use on the empress of the seas? NO. Not on the Empress, not on any ship.
cb at sea Posted October 25, 2016 #3 Share Posted October 25, 2016 (edited) Not on ANY ship..no matter which cruise line. Sorry! What do you need it for? If you need to "heat" a bottle for a baby, simply run the hot water (it gets REALLY hot) into the sink...immerse the bottle...it will warm the milk/formula in no time! We've had the same problem.......what is this cruise line coming to? No chocolates on the bed, no toiletries, no rolls, no pepper grinders, now the micro waves don't work!!;)
Bailey & Sophie Posted October 26, 2016 #6 Share Posted October 26, 2016 We have a small one in our cabinet, but the food never seems to get hot. Did you put in the correct combination? Is it the beige one? I heard those don't work at all.

Funny we had a white one, no control settings I could find, everything came out about the temperate as when we put it in.
kmorg1234 Posted October 26, 2016 #15 Share Posted October 26, 2016 Actually, there is one that works really well-- it is located to the right of the bananas in a bowl next to the ketchup and mayo.
Rare ReneeFLL Posted October 26, 2016 #16 Share Posted October 26, 2016 If you are wanting to heat some sort of liquid look into these. Rare A&L_Ont Posted October 26, 2016 #18 Share Posted October 26, 2016 (edited) We have a small one in our cabinet, but the food never seems to get hot. I've tried both of them in my cabin. The one just by the TV makes my canned soup semi warm and the other one is no better. I enter the cooking time and it just beeps and locks. I guess I don't have to worry about nefarious crew who will steal it.;) I also wondered why they have it in my closet? What gives Bob? You usually know all the answers. :D Edited October 26, 2016 by A&L_Ont

When I was a kid we were at a hotel and my mother used one of those and it fell out of the cup and ended up causing a fire.

griffy116 Posted October 26, 2016 #21 Share Posted October 26, 2016 Serious Answer: You can order hot water for tea from room service. Ask them NOT to put the tea in the pot. It will be hotter than the faucet and will heat the bottle faster. Also if you order it for two, you can have a nice cup of tea while the bottle is heating. In the dining room, you can ask the waiter for hot water. If you carry a thermos bottle on board you can take the hot water back to the cabin and it will be hot when you are ready to use it.
