Royal Princess to move to California?

Window suites are only on the Caribbean, Golden and Grand. There are only seven on each ship on Fiesta deck. They are twice the size of an oceanview cabin with two windows. F301 is significantly smaller and F315 is an accessible cabin. F303 through F311 are identical cabins.

Thanks...maybe one day we'll experience the suite life & a WS cabin would be great for us.

Six of our cruises have been in Full Suites. Two of the three Window Suite cruises were the first two weeks of September of the Alaskan season in 2012 when the launch pricing for the WS was less than the price of a mini-suite, balcony cabin or oceanview :eek: We have also twice accepted an upsell from an Emerald deck mini to a full suite when DD was traveling with us. The last time was in an Owner's Suite on the Pacific which is probably the second largest suite in the fleet. We also booked a 4 day coastal in 2014 when they had the book a cabin and get your cruise fare back as a FCC so that cruise was free. in between we have sailed in oceanviews, balconies and mini-suites. Almost anything except an inside works for us as long as were are on a cruise :D

Please, please, please, do not try this one day. I have enough competition as it is. I am trying very hard to discourage anyone from sailing in a Window Suite.

* There's no balcony.

* You are too close to the casino (can go there in your PJ's early in the morning).

* You won't get the exercise because you are in the midst of all the Atrium activities.

* IC is right around the corner. I'm just trying to save you calories (again, not enough walking/climbing stairs).

* Too close to EFFY

Thank you for reconsidering.

Well, at least I had an aft view suite booked for a full day for that Golden cruise. After talking it over with Holli we decided to hold off on any long range cruise plans due our beloved Golden Misha getting on in years. So we will still cruise the Pacific Princess next month and for now, we also still plan doing that 12 day R/T Alaskan itinerary next April......:):):)

  • 4 weeks later...
I'm hoping that's when the new ship will be deployed to the Caribbean to replace the Royal for 10 day trips. :);)

If the past 3 new ships are any indication, the next one will go into service in the spring and spend the summer doing Mediterranean cruises before coming to the Caribbean area, or Asia in the case of the Majestic Princess,for the winter season.

I'll hate to see it leave the Caribbean. :( It's still one of the better Princess ships around....along with the Regal.

I feel the same way about the Royal & Regal (but not the changes made to the Majestic) & will be very happy to drive to LA to board the Royal. :D

Three of our four future cruises are on the Royal (29 of 43 days) so obviously we enjoy the ship. If the next Royal-Class ship deploys to the Caribbean one change was recently posted. The source quoted on this forum was from an onboard future cruise consultant who saw a video from the CCL CEO. They're planning to replace Princess Live with an Explorers Lounge type of a venue. That would be an improvement for me & they could use the millions of dollars savings on something else instead of a TV studio with uncomfortable seating.

So you may get lucky & have an improved Royal-Class ship as the design continues to evolve based on passengers input. And such a change would probably generate more income & cost less than Princess Live and they could record the Wake Show elsewhere on the ship just like on other ships.

We booked the 49 day repositioning cruise from FLL to LA around the Horn. Holy cow!

Congratulations! :D

A couple of years ago we enjoyed sailing the Golden from Buenos Aires to LA. It was good to only have to fly to BA & to drive home from LA. Although for you it's even better with only flying to FLL & back to the Bay Area at the end of the cruise. :)

Congratulations! I would have loved to have done that one, but waiting for DH to retire (4-5 years) and we don't want to leave our dogs for that long. :(

Ok, Thrak, you're the winner. No more entries will be accepted.

I am SO jealous.

Yeah, I get all choked up thinking about it. At least when I think about the price. Yikes! :eek:

Thrak,

It's only money.

When you get back you can get rid of your sign. Not Elite. I like to be the first one to welcome you to the Princess Elite club. :D

Congratulations on booking all 49 days. We booked the 30 day version from Buenos Aires around to LA.

Hopefully when the Sip and Sail comes out the price will stay the same and then later on a series of price drops if the AIBP is not your cup of tea.
