Northern Aurora Posted April 26, 2017 #51 Share Posted April 26, 2017 I am sensing some confusion regarding the afternoon tea options. An "Afternoon Tea Time" is offered on all ships and available to all passengers daily in the Oceanview Cafe. There will be a selection of small sandwiches (4 or 5 types), small cakes and cookies, sliced fruit, and scones. We are presently on the Infinity, and the "Afternoon Tea Time" is held from 3:30 - 4:30 PM. We spent a month on the Solstice last fall, and when we left in late October the daily delivery of a tea selection with the small sandwiches and cakes to Suite staterooms was being altered. But if you are in a Suite your butler will still deliver the "goodies" to your stateroom if you request him to do so. But the Butler team is serving tea in Michael's Club from 3 to 4 PM. We boarded the Infinity on April 2nd, and the tea service in Michael's Club is actually working better than I had expected. We are on a B2B in a Suite, and the afternoon tea is surprisingly well attended in Michael's Club. It is yet another opportunity to chat will your fellow Suite passengers and I have found that I actually prefer to drop by MC if so inclined. Dimarie40 Posted April 27, 2017 #53 Share Posted April 27, 2017 When we were on the Reflection in October last year the aft side of the Sunset bar was designated for smokers. We learned that the hard way when we walked through there to access the Sunset bar. We learned very quickly to cross to the starboard side, across the lawn before making our way to the bar. Is the smoking section close enough to bother you? I'm allergic to smoke so I figured that I would have to avoid that area altogether.
southernbreezes Posted April 27, 2017 #55 Share Posted April 27, 2017 I would like to know this also. From pictures I have seen it looks like there is a top bar and a bar in the middle that you can pull down I didn't see any shelves/cubbies.Also about what depth is the storage that is over the bed I was thinking of bringing some of those fold up cubbies to put up there. The storage area above the bed held 6 fold up storage cubes. We also brought a hanging shoe holder for my wife's 16+ pairs of shoes and sandals. :D Smoking at the Sunset Bar was not very bad, my wife hates the smell but it's outside and we sat there everyday half the time in the smoking section. There is also smoking Starboard Side on the pool deck and Starboard Side mid ship on deck 5 outside. Our Cabin was on deck 6 just above the smoking area and never smelled any smoke. The smokers were very considerate I thought. It was windy the first couple of days we still sat at the pool every morning. Maybe the worst weather we have had in April but we have had much worse weather on other cruises. Never a bad day on a Cruise Ship!

That's new to me that they moved the smoking sections to the starboard side...I seem to remember that they were on the port side so we've always chosen cabins on the starboard to avoid the smoke from deck 5 reaching our balcony. JaniceB Posted April 27, 2017 #58 Share Posted April 27, 2017 Just off the same sailing. $5 table limits for the whole cruise Thanks, Bobby Dee. Guess I'll have to take some gambling money with me. I can justify finding other things to do when $10 tables are involved but $5 tables call my name! :p Thanks for this information. $5 tables call my name too. I am not much of a gambler but like to try.

Living4acruise2day Posted April 27, 2017 #61 Share Posted April 27, 2017 Yes, cant escape it Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-G891A using Forums mobile app I am a little confused. Would you kindly explain? I will be on this ship in a few months and have been reading all of the reviews and posts. I have yet to read a complaint about smokers smoking in the smoking section. Were you sitting in the smoking section? I could understand if your balcony neighbor was smoking or if someone lit up a cig in an undesignated area, but this is not the case. Again, I am confused. Plus, this is an outdoor area, correct?
Barwick Cruiser Posted April 27, 2017 #62 Share Posted April 27, 2017 Sorry, all the smoking is on the port side (left) of the ship.:D Oh, thank goodness, we're booked in a starboard balcony cabin on the equinox this fall and I was hoping we wouldn't have to go through the hassle of trying to move! You should be fine if you sit on the other side of the bar, and there are a number of times thru the day and night that there are very few smokers near the bar. cruisingagentone Posted April 27, 2017 #68 Share Posted April 27, 2017 There are 3 smoking areas on the ship so there is lots of space to avoid it. I don't understand Pier290 how cigar smoke doesn't bother you but cigarette does? Please don't worry about inundated with cigarette smoke its simply not true. Blue_Flame Posted April 27, 2017 #69 Share Posted April 27, 2017 Hi :) 3 questions, please1.) Did you go to the Hot Glass Show? 2.) By any chance, did you notice if Cafe al Bacio has black and white cookies? 3.) How were the seas? Thank you! I hope you had a great cruise! I didn't see if anyone else answered #2 but I was on this cruise and I did get black and white cookies in the early afternoon on a couple of days. griffy116 Posted April 29, 2017 #72 Share Posted April 29, 2017 I smoke and we obey the rules with few exceptions and those that break the rules are probably rude and break more rules than smoking. Doesn't matter if we're in a designated smoking area, we still get dogged by people who know they are coming to one of the very few areas smoking is allowed and frowning, holding their hand over their face, or waving their hands and some of these folks do it repeatedly. Give it a rest. If you see someone sitting in a non-smoking area, and they're smoking, report them instead of intentionally going to the smoking area and complaining to the staff that there are smokers in the smoking area that are smoking and that it's ruining your cruise. I follow the rules. I don't need a lecture on smoking or your story about a rude smoker on a cruise you were on 15 years ago that caused your clothing to reek in a casino to highjack the questions about the Equinox. chamima Posted April 29, 2017 #74 Share Posted April 29, 2017 I have a question..... Did you have a drink package? Supposedly the rules have now changed and the classic includes ALL drinks up to $9 and you just pay the difference if the drink is over $9. Also, supposedly canned soda pop is no longer included at all in the Classic package. Did you have any experience with any of this? Thanks! bradleyk Posted April 29, 2017 #75 Share Posted April 29, 2017 I have a question: Are you going to answer the questions? ;) :) In all seriousness, how was the weather during sail away? Was the ship lively? Party atmosphere? Or mellow? Dude I am going to have to hang out with you! You are a riot. See you on board
