Since a number of people were having an issue with the excessive vibration in the rear cabins (my BIL included); he decided to hit up the Captain who happened to be eating dinner during late seating tonight. The Captain told him it was due to having to run at top speed to make it to the next port on time. This is what my BIL told me and I did not hear it from the Captain myself, nor did I corroborate what I was told. My cabin is vibrating quite a bit right now, but thankfully it does not bother me.....:):):)

Thanks for the report Bob.

Another passenger told me that their fruit bowl fell off the table in the middle of the night which is why I asked. Hopefully it is not too bad up the coast of Norway over to Murmansk Russia and back.

I was wondering if speed and/or deep water made the difference. When we were in an aft OS on the Pacific Princess we felt very little vibration. Ours was a French Polynesia cruise at slow speeds and in not a lot of open ocean as it was mainly island hopping.

Bob,

We were in the cabin next to yours (6093) on the Ocean Princess last year for 64 days. This is the same class ship and it had the same problems with vibration. We did notice it was much worse when higher speeds were required to make the next port on time. At other times though it was gone. We sort of got used to it but have decided to skip the lower aft cabins on this ship in the future.

On a similar note, if you're in port and the waves are coming in just right, they'll slap the aft of the ship with a loud and recurring bang.

Regardless, we very much enjoyed this class of ship and are scheduled for another 54 days next year. This includes the same cruise you're doing now.

Get to know the cruise staff/dancers. They're doing double duty and typically are great kids. Lots of fun.

A very good morning from the Pacific Princess. Today is our second full sea day as we sail towards Nicaragua. Holli and I will be headed down to Sabatini's for breakfast. in about an hour. SO far the food and service there has been outstanding. After breakfast I don't have much planned, but I'm sure I'll find something to do.

Hope All Are Well.....:):):)

Bob!

So glad to follow along with you on this one. Good to see you again!

Jeff and I are on the Pacific Princess later this year for a couple cruises while she is in Europe. Our first small ship experience as well.

Say hello to Holli (and milkbones to Misha upon your return home)!

Is this cruise the retirement cruise?

Good evening from thePacific Princess. We are finishing up our second full sea day as we make our way to Nicaragua. Holli & I just got back from a great dinner in the MDR. It was a very enjoyable evening. The dining room staff was all dressed up in Mexican attire even though the menu was not Mexican themed. 2/3rd’ of the way thru dinner, Mexican music and Oscar led the entire staff on a parade through the dining room. I took the above picture right before we went to dinner. I tried to post it then, but the internet was very slow.

Holli’s sister and her hubby went to the pre-dinner show in the Cabaret lounge. The performer was singer Minda Lawson that they both said was very good.

Holli and I are getting ready to play some cards which is a tradition for us on every cruise. I’m not trying to brag, but I usually win:D.

The entertainment options today were as follows:

Are you certain the music and dress were Mexican and not Central American in origin?

Good morning from the Pacific Princess. Today is our third of three sea days before we arrive in Nicaragua. Seas right now are like glass. Temps are abound the mid 70's and the humidity seems to be getting a little worse. GOt the usual sea day activities for today. Tonight is our second of three formal nights where I will once again enjoy getting dressed up in my tux.

Tomorrow in Nicaragua, we have selected a short driving excursion. I was looking at a few other options, but eventually decided on this one to minimize the stress on Holli's back.

That's about all for now. I'll check in later.

Hope all are well.....:):):)

We were on the Ocean (6093) in Norway and noticed the vibration anytime the speed was above 20 knots. I too avoid the rear facing cabins. We were on the Pacific Princess in 7016 and an aft cabin port side for 120 days and never noticed any vibration.

Good afternoon all from the Pacific Princess. I just love these leisurely sea day afternoons. You can do as much or as little as you want. Just kicking back relaxing for the next several hours until I have to start getting all dolled up for formal night. I'm looking forward to another great dining experience with Oscar at the helm in the MDR. Usually you would find me in the casino in the afternoons on sea days, but I decided to stay away from it for awhile as initially the establishment has not been very giving, but has taken a bit of my money:D.

An early good evening from the Pacific Princess. Just getting ready to get into my tux and then head out for a couple of 007 martinis before dinner. I've discovered that the Casino Bar is basically what I would consider Crooners on the larger ships. They have the exact bar menu as Crooners which the other bars on the ship do not have.

Holli found out something interesting today at her hair appointment. It seems that the ship has changed the third formal night to the first sea day after Aruba. It was originally scheduled to be the sea day before Aruba. Funny thing is that I haven't heard any official announcement from the ship.

Anyways, I hope all are well and are continuing to enjoy my live from postings. I really enjoy doing them.....:):):)

I hope this is not a shock to you, Bob, but that is the strategy of all casinos--towards all their patrons. Normally, though, they prefer to take all, not just a bit, of your money.

Bob it is nice to read your thread about PA. I am looking at the Princess book and can't find some things on the ship layout. Where is the Atrium and Platinum/Elite lounge?

We were on the R-4 in 2001 for 10 day Tahiti & islands cruise and then again when it was the Tahitian Princess 14 days Tahiti to Hawaii. That ship has been sent to Europe and is probably a P&O ship. For a while it was named Ocean Princess. (We were on the old Ocean Princess in 2002 for Panama Canal cruise FLL to SF.)

We plan to book the World Cruise for 2019 but will only be in a Balcony cabin, preferably deck 7 mid ship. We will check when we do the Emerald Princess next year 28 day South Pacific R/T LA.

RCL has trees and a gardener on the Oasis class ships because the trees and plants on her are all alive.

The R-4 is now the Oceania Sirena. There is no Atrium like on larger ships but it probably refers to the area on the starboard side of deck four adjacent to Guest Services. That is where the Venetian mask making class was held on our Med cruise. The P/E/S Lounge is held in the Pacific Lounge or one of the specialty restaurants.

A late good evening from the Pacific Princess. Holli & I just returned from a great dining experience in the MDR. It was great to dress up and experience formal night (I'm a traditionalist and hop that Princess never ends the event). The menu had some great choices tonite. Lobster, Chateaubriand, and a duck dish were offered. I had the Lobster along with the Chateaubriand and both were excellent. Tonite was also the Captain's cocktail party. I did not attend, so I cannot comment on it. I did however make another run at the Casino. Luck was a little more on my side tonight as I came away a little over $100 more than I started with.

No entertainment listings tonight as I am kinda tired.

Hope all are well.....:):):)

Such a nice problem to have.. tell us what the lucky numbers are [emoji13]

I have a request of you if you do not mind.. I believe you are right next-door in fact.

Could you kindly ask the neighbors if you would be able to take a picture or several of one of the following cabins: 8066/8069. They are basically verandas but have aft views.

The reason I started following this thread is because of a planned trip on Pacific Princess.. and I'm looking very seriously at grabbing one of those two for this Fall.

Thank you in advance, Bob!

Cheers,

(Another) Bob
