Just got off Ft. Lauderdale on our first World Cruise aboard the lovely Pacific Princess. Incredible staff - very attentive and hospitable. We were totally spoiled! There is no one else like your friendly Maitre D', Oscar! And his partnership with the new Executive Chef, S. Seepardad Vashish is outstanding. Great food and service - and everyone is so accessible. Your internet manager, Dejan, is helpful and accommodating. In 2018 we are doing the post-World Cruise Panama canal segments BTB Ft. Lauderdale-LA-Ft. Lauderdale and look forward to reading about your experiences.

Good afternoon (late) from the Pacific Princess. We’ve been on board now for about 6 -7 hours. We were supposed to sail at 1600pst but after the Muster drill, the Captain came on the public-address system to announce that some maintenance issues would delay our departure till at least1930pst. Oh well.

A couple observations about my experiences so far. My first impression of the ship is wow. Now I see why so many people say the Pacific Princess is their favoritePrincess ship. I absolutely love the old world feel and the coziness of his small ship gem. I really think I’m going to like this ship.

I’ll post more later to include a picture or two. This on the fly because I have to get ready for dinner.

Take Care All…..:):):)

True words. Oscar had to fix a snafu with our late seating arrangements. What a pleasurable experience. He is a class act.....:):):)

Good evening from thePacific Princess. Holli & I just returned from dinner and a short stop at the shops to pick up a few sundry items. The food in the MDR was very good. I had the Curtis Stone offering which was white fish and muscles in a somewhat spicy cream sauce. Holli had the always available salmon while her DS and hubby had a rather sizable portion of prime rib. Everyone enjoyed their dinner. Our waitstaff seems to be very good as well. After dinner Holli and I made a short stop at the shops to pick up a few sundry items. Holli’s DS and her hubby decided to go to the show but we decided to head back to the cabin to get some rest. Right now, I’m sitting on our balcony listening to some classical music as we work our way out of the San Pedro harbor area.

So far, I am very impressed with the Pacific Princess. While it will take a day or two to get use to the layout, I haven’t seen anything negative except for one item. As of this moment, the forward observation above the lounge is closed because they stacked a ton of carpet rolls there. I heard that they are going to be replacing carpet in public areas during our cruise.

Tomorrow we have our CC Meet & Greet in another roll call member’s cabin. Prior to that, we plan to have breakfast in Sabatini’s. We postponed our free specialty dining dinner till the day after tomorrow because we wanted to dine in Sterling’s but it is not open until then.

That’s about all for now. I’ll post more tomorrow morning…..

We were also on the 14 day holiday cruise and I will never forget Oscar in a different Santa hat every night.

He acts silly but is really a fantastic Maitre D' who runs an efficient, happy dining room!!

Special gentleman!

Enjoy!

The best ship I have ever been on. So small, we never took an elevator. Please say HI! to Sammi Conneen Baker for us. Tell her Kevin the Irish DJ will be on the June 9 cruise. Pay attention to how she demonstrates how to find your way around the Pacific Princess ("Fun in the front and food in the back!").

Good morning from thePacific Princess. It is around 0630 pst. Today is a full sea day as we journey towards our first port stop of Cabo San Lucas. Right now the skies are overcast and a little dreary. Temps aren’t too bad now. Seas are a tad choppy but not too bad. The forecast for today is a high of 64f (18c) and a low of 59c (15c). Sunrise was at 0555 with sunset being at 1933.

Today Holli and I will beheaded to Sabatini’s around 0900. After that, I’ll probably hit the fitness center. After the gym, who knows, my day could be crammed with activities or Icould do nothing at all as I’m on vacation.

Entertainment options for today are as follows: **I won’t list everything, but I will post all the patters to my flickr page when we get back**

The Wake Show on channel 21 till 1100

Comedy Showtime featuringScott Harris Cabaret Lounge 1945 & 2145

Music of David Crathorne Casino Bar 2045 to late

Feel free to post any and all questions. I got a ton of internet minutes to burn through for the cruise.

Internet has been very good so far. We are in an aft OS and get a great signal in the cabin without having to open the door. Signal on the balcony is not at as good but still able to connect. If I want to upload any pictures, I’ll have to do them in the cabin.

One quick question for you techies out there. I am using MS Word (MAC version) to compose before I post. I noted that when I post, a number of words are run together and need correcting. This only happened after the redesigned boards when live several months ago. Any ideas?

That’s all for now. I’ll probably pop back in after breakfast at the Italian joint.

Thanks Bob! I was surprised to see Oscar is still there. He was on board October through January (at least) so he's either gone home and returned or is about to go home.

Captain Maresca is fantastic. Glad to see he's the current relief captain on the Pacific Princess.

Have a fun day at sea!

Bob,

I know you will love Oscar as well as Sammi. They are both terrific at what they do on a ship. Have a fantastic time. So very jealous right now. :halo:

Was there no Trivia? I thought there was a law that all cruise ships had to offer that several times a day :D

As to the missing spaces: I have reported this to the Admins, but didn't get any answer.

Yes sir, there is morning Trivia, I just didn't list it. It is at 1100 in the Pacific lounge. As far as the posting issues. I used my Mac Book Pro w/MS Word last September on the CB. Never had a problem. It's just a little annoying having to go back and correct stuff. Eats up a few internet minutes but not too many.....:):):)

Just took care of a very important thing when it comes to Princess Cruises. I just purchased two more Future Cruise Credits (FCC's). Guess I'll just have to book another Princess Cruise:D. It's very convenient being able to do in from the "My Princess" site.....:):):)

Bob,

Enjoy the PP. We were on her for the Princess 50th Anniversary cruise in December 2015 and fell in love with her. We are booked on a 12 day Greek Isle cruise on the PP starting on 30 October 2018 which goes from Venice (one of our favorite cities) to Rome. We are booked in an OS (7114), so we would appreciate any pictures, comments, hints or observations about the cabin. When we were on for the 50th to Mexico we had Oscar as M'D and Sami Baker as cruise director. Could not ask for better personnel. Have a great cruise, Looking forward to your posts. How do we access your Flkr Page??

It's not just you, Bob. I've noticed it in a lot of the posts. One lady who was posting a review had the problem. Suggested she try a different font and voilà, problem solved.
