Truthfully, I now think 3 nights for dinner would be fine if they were the right three nights.

Sorry they made you feel less than special. There is also a manager of CK. To bad you didn't get a chance to let him/her know how you were treated. You could also lodge a complaint with GS's. You are the customer.

FWIW, we will sail on Harmony for president cruise. That's going to be interesting.

John's suggestion is good -- I would have said something to the manager also as well as the Diamond Concierge (we are D+ but not Pinnacle yet). We are sailing on HM and as we eat around 8 PM (which for ships sailing from Port Canaveral is less desired -- cruisers tht board here like earlier seatings) , we hope they allow us to book more than 3 nights on HM once she moves to Port C.

On our recent OA cruise, we and our traveling companions both had JSs and reserved 8 PM dinners. The chef and the rest of the staff in CK took great care with us including one of our traveling companions who needed a special vegetable menu. He visited with us and prepared her vegetable meal differently for each nigh.

But a Star class passenger paid 3 to 4 times as much for their cabin and amenities. Of course they get results. Just like a person that buys a Rolls Royce gets better quality and service than one that buys even the best Ford. Money makes the world go round. It's the way of things. And we can argue if that's right or wrong but the fact of the matter, it just is.

As for the door knocking, they have that because if you're in a JS you're not entitled to be there for free cocktails, hang out all day or eat other meals. Those that work there should not have to check each person's card. They want to just be able to assume if you're in there, you belong there. Not sure why it's such a big deal. We did it in a JS . No prob, just waited and were patient, polite and didn't take ourselves to seriously or take it personally. Everyone is so easily offended now days.

The treatment in the restaurant during the dinner should be the same. The host at CK can't play "power trips" on us... Oh, wait... that's the only time he can pay power trips on us and treat us as a poor people who are crushing rich ppl's feast but don't belong there. We paid money for our suite for 1 week more than he makes in a month. He can't be the one deciding who is worthy and who is not. I used to work for major airline and the treatment for first, business and economy class was essentially the same, just premium passengers got extra services. The smile and good attitude was for all kind of passengers, including stand-by/staff paid tickets. It is customer service 101 and sadly host at CK was not taught that.

They is a horrible attitude to have to anyone. Being able to spend more money does not make you a better person.

Have the day that you deserve.

I am not the one who started this. The CK host was the one who treated us based on money spent. but who is he to judge us based on money? It goes both ways.

Never paid for a drink in CK as a JS passenger. We were D+ at the time, though. However, I don't think the waitstaff checks or cares.

While in CK when sailing in a Junior suite, I asked for a drink during dinner. ( it was somewhere before 8 o’clock. ). The waiter asked for my Seapass card. He brought me the drink and returned the Seapass. I asked him “since there is nothing to sign, why did you need my Sespass card?” He remarked “I needed it to make sure you had a Diamond voucher left before I brought you the drink.” So, no free drink for d/d+. We didn’t expect a free drink and actually thought the waitstaff took the card and would bring it back with a bar receipt to sign.

I keep reading of people who are in full suites asking if they can bring non-suite guests into the CK, and many times it seems they are told yes.

I wonder if they have priority over the Junior Suites also.:(

I doubt it. JS can bring guests as well.

As it should be. But usually once in the door they don't bother to check.

I'm not entirely sure that's accurate. Can you cite a reference? Would that apply to Sky passengers and Pinnacles? Remember, the CK is not really part of the SL. 😉

What's not accurate? You have posted that as D+ in a JS you were afforded complimentary drinks in CK.

Not sure it had anything to do with D+

I was making sure the others knew it was before I turned PC. 😉

Never once had my card scanned to make sure there were still drinks available like Marci reported

How was that important to know? To me you wanted people to know you got complimentary drinks in CK as D+ in a JS.

No elevator waiting, how is that possible? Do they have the new express buttons? We stay on 17, and there is always elevator waiting.

We were in a GS on Anthem last Sept and went to CK for the first three dinners. Didn't use it for breakfast or lunch. We didn't think it was very special and then decided to go to the specialty restaurants (Wonderland, Jamies and Chops). Finished the cruise going to the MDR and there we were welcomed like royalty - 'where have you been? We are so happy to see you here. Can we bring you some wine? Another dish? Anything else?' Great service in the MDR and the food was good too for the last couple of nights.

edit: it seemed like the MDR head waiter and waiter were very keen to compete on the service front with the other dining options. They were very very nice.

More breakfast

Fresh squeezed OJ is included, but you have to ask. Laura got a BLT every morning. The lettuce was hit or miss since they really don't have it that early. No pics of the BLT, the second photo was eggs Benedict

Suite Lounge breakfast. Sets up around 30 minutes before CK opens. Home of the magical espresso machine.

When we go back on allure i have to remember to ask specifically for fresh squeezed OJ. I wondered why some mornings oj tasted better than the previous day.

Also noticed on the the past 2 weeks on serenade and freedom. OJ in diamond lounge is from concentrate but fresh squeezed OJ is available in concierge lounge.

Was it for something other than beer or wine?

Not sure it’s encouraged to bring in Guests. Having P Status might be helpful. Have you ever been refused guests?

Really haven't asked since we sailed Oasis in spring 2015. I may try on Allure next month. Truthfully I'd rather invite someone to lunch.

What is the date of your HOTS cruise? We are in GS April 7 and before final payment, nothing available on Deck 17. Then a week or two after final payment, there were at least 8 L1 & L2 Suites Open on Deck 7. I tried to upgrade but since we had Casino rates on our original booking, it was going to be $3,500 to upgrade. We passed.

You wonder why NRD came about.
