I don't flaunt my C&A Status

Recommended Posts

First of all, I'm Platinum with Royal Caribbean. (Takes a bow, followed by mandatory applause and champagne toast.) However, I was hoping that there would be a condensed version of this thread for Platinum cruisers and above. Please provide at my convenience. Thank you. And thank me for thanking you. You're welcome. Well, maybe you're welcome. Depends on how thankful you are for me thanking you. Platinum dreams to all!!!

P.S.: I'm certain someone who is Diamond will come in here and try to outdo me, but for now I have the spotlight. And I'm enjoying all of my fabulous perks that go along with it. Perks many others don't have. Bet you wish you were like me. HA! PLATINUM CLUB BABY!!!! YESSSSSSSSSSSSS!!!

Wishful thinking.

Sure, I can definitely see that now.

It just seems like it wouldn't cost Royal THAT much more to grant one's new status during the qualifying cruise, and it would (to borrow a hackneyed phrase) "enhance the customer experience." :)

But hey, it's apparently not that big a deal to most. It will be a while before my next upgrade on Royal and at least I'll know not to expect it too early.

I'm just glad they credit my account for a charter booking...then again, for the price WE pay....

Marketing has a lot to do with it. Just makes you want to get on that next cruise booking all the sooner. ;)

I really don't pay any attention to my C and A status, though I knew it was above gold. My sister just turned Diamond +, and reading this thread got me curious though. Turns out I am only 2 cruises from Diamond, would be there during 2018. I guess then I can start with the demands......lol

Most folks pay attention to their C&A status anytime they book a cruise...since it is asked for during the booking process, and also impacts the price. Otherwise...not so much...

No need to demand....your perks are happily waiting for you to use!

Enjoy your new perks level!

Asked for? Must be pax booked with a TA?

Your C&A number is a data field you provide during the booking process right on the Royal Caribbean site, along with your resident state, military status (if any), and senior citizen eligibility. Any one of those can impact the price when booking.

Nothing new...but just pointing out that C&A status is considered during the online booking process. TA's also ask for it for the same reason.

I usually book the Casino Royale and get the casino rate, so they just pull up my information by my name.

Thanks, and of course that would make sense, that you would have to give (or remind) your TA of your C&A number...which will save you a bunch of money as I already know (and enjoy ;)) on balcony discounts.

I book direct online with the C&A number already in my profile.

Yeah...that works too. Our info is also pre-loaded...but for many others they still have to enter in the number.

Unfortunately, we have skipped the 4-5 Casino Royale invites we're received since they don't seem to align to the ships or destinations we prefer. Maybe sometime they will, but not so far.

As a side note...we've cruised with a ton of great people that we've met for the first time. Many were Emerald, Diamond, and up.

The nice part was that none of them ever brought up their status. The only time a hint of status came up might have been in discussing deals they go or promo perks...but no mention of actual status.
