champagne123 Posted October 29, 2017 #26 Share Posted October 29, 2017 Why not? Sorry Merion Mom...love and respect all of you posts and if I remember correctly, you love the Anthem. I really have too many complaints to list. As I have posted before, we were there when it first changed over from the rotating dining rooms ...Service was terrible. Could not even get a glass of wine with our dinner. On the pool deck..NO service what so ever. We had to get our own cocktails every single time. Just off of Celebrity Equinox. OMG....impeccable service. Never ONCE did we have to go get our own cocktails. At dinner......wine was AUTOMATICALLY filled, without even asking. This is the same company.....why such a huge difference?
DaniDanielle Posted October 29, 2017 #27 Share Posted October 29, 2017 Good question. I have to say our last Anthem trip was in January and it was great. They went overboard for my birthday! Sent from my iPad using Forums

Mom2labs Posted October 29, 2017 Author #29 Share Posted October 29, 2017 I want to believe it will get better because I really want to enjoy the rest of the cruise. Relax and enjoy. The Anthem is a beautiful ship.
chrisby Posted October 29, 2017 #31 Share Posted October 29, 2017 I've noticed this from time to time but it's never bothered either of us, it gets cleaned up eventually. We tend to be pretty laid back on a cruise and don't sweat the small stuff. Never hurts to tell Guest Services though. gaylemh Posted October 29, 2017 #32 Share Posted October 29, 2017 Four times on the Anthem? Can you tell me why please? I've sailed on her 12 times, with many more booked through 2019. A big reason is it's less than an hour to the port. I must be incredibility lucky as I've never had any of the problems I read about. Never had a problem with the original Dynamic Dining, until they added the rotational, and the worst that happened is we had to wait 10 minutes for a table. Love the Music Hall. Love 270, Love the solarium. Never had a problem finding a deck chair. Love WWRY and Spectras and still go on each sailing. Most of all I love all the solo cruisers I meet and have sailed with some of them many, many times. To me that's what makes a cruise - the people I meet, and yes most of them are from NY and NJ. I just got off yesterday, and there were some dishes on the tables in 270, but they were cleaned off within a reasonable amount of time. I didn't go to the Cafe or Sorrentos. The WJ tables were cleaned before I even finished chewing my food. There were men walking around decks 14 and 15 picking up all the glasses/dishes all the time. Maybe they were short staffed because of the weather on this cruise. Seasick crew. I live at the beach at the Jersey Shore and the ocean was wild last night and today. Pratique Posted October 29, 2017 #34 Share Posted October 29, 2017 I like to think that she would appreciate a solution, and was not "just venting." I like how you put “just venting” in quotes even though I never wrote “just.” It seemed like you were probing the reasonableness of the OP’s concern and I didn’t understand why. It should make no difference what day or meal - the ship should be kept clean, agreed? Sent from my iPhone using Forums
Mom2labs Posted October 29, 2017 Author #35 Share Posted October 29, 2017 I was hesitant to post but it just irked me so much, I’ve been on 2 prior RCCL in 12 mos and no such issues. I was excited for this one. As for cleaning up quickly not happening was by the same area over an hour later and no change. I like Royal very much and will go again but maybe not on Anthem if it doesn’t improve. Just stating observations on this journey so far, it hasn’t been equivalent to my last two sailings. scottygirl Posted October 29, 2017 #36 Share Posted October 29, 2017 Not sure why everyone gets their knickers in a twist when people criticize the Anthem. We went on a 5 day Bermuda last summer and although we had a good time it was probably my least favorite ship/cruise that I have been on. To each his own. I am sooo happy you enjoy the Anthem. You certainly must after cruising her 12 times. As I have said numerous times.... we must have just picked the wrong week. The change over was a major factor last year. I am sure she has improved greatly since then. 😊
Rare wilmingtech Posted October 29, 2017 #38 Share Posted October 29, 2017 Watching from the outside as we are on the Anthem in December and really looking forward to it. I too am wondering if the ship is dirty because of the weather and waves? We were on the Freedom in March and hit some pretty big seas. I got sick, My brother got sick, his daughter got sick and we never get sick :) The hallways all smelled awful and there were dishes everywhere. 2 days later we were in PR and the ship was spic and span and even had a "new ship smell". It was like night and day. Would be interesting to see what happens by tomorrow afternoon when you all are getting ready to leave Cape Canaveral. Another thing may be that the Anthem just switched routes and this is the first trip on the Fl/Coco/Nassau route and the staffing and schedules may have been changed up. -Sean
Merion_Mom Posted October 29, 2017 #39 Share Posted October 29, 2017 You want to know what bothers me on the Anthem? The area is called the Royal Esplanade, not the Royal Promenade. But they still named it the Cafe Promenade!!!!! [emoji15][emoji15][emoji15][emoji6][emoji1][emoji1] Sent from my iPhone using Forums

Rare whitshel Posted October 30, 2017 #41 Share Posted October 30, 2017 Kinda funny about peoples perspectives This just posted from "argyllsocks" just a couple posts down from you The Ship Anthem is abeautiful ship with a lot of different things to do. Easily has the most things I have ever seen on a ship – bumper cars, circus, iFly, flowrider, NorthStar observation pod, arcade, casino…the list goes on and on. We both enjoyed the Northstar and the bumper cars! The ship is in great shape and we found the common areas were well maintained and clean. How things change in a matter of hours. Hmmmmm....I may have to book a cruse on Anthem just to see whats up!!

Rare wilmingtech Posted October 30, 2017 #44 Share Posted October 30, 2017 DaniDanielle and I are boarding on 11/11, we will check it out and report back.;pI'm sure it's just because of the weather they are in. Going through 30-40mph winds and 12 foot seas and will get worse before midnight. I'm sure the dishes will clear up with the weather. -Sean Sent from my SM-N950U using Tapatalk
Ashland Posted October 30, 2017 #45 Share Posted October 30, 2017 Just off Anthem last Saturday. We didn't notice anything as bad as the OP is seeing...The only place we noticed dirty dishes sitting around was 270 and felt it would have been nice to have a trash can and perhaps a place to put your dirty dishes.....Just my opinion but this venue wasn't really set up for eating and I think that's the problem....I guess I was expecting something more along the line of Park Cafe. But I do agree people need to clean up after themselves a bit better in venue's like this with mixed use.

Merion_Mom Posted October 30, 2017 #47 Share Posted October 30, 2017 Since I first stepped onto a cruise ship, I have wished for a place to bus my own dishes in the buffet. I prefer to take care of myself and not leave a mess behind. But the cruise line has decided that this is NOT how they are going to operate, so we are stuck. :)

renza Posted October 30, 2017 #49 Share Posted October 30, 2017 We are booked on anthem for May, I am worried we are making a mistake now. We have cruised oasis, allure, and harmony being we live only 40 min from Fort Lauderdale. We decided to try anthem and go to nyc for 3-4 nights too. I sure hope it’s not that bad.
