ToothDoc78 Posted November 21, 2017 #1 Share Posted November 21, 2017 I'm torn when vacationing between wanting to be pampered to the max and getting a great deal... sometimes it's possible to get both! What's the best deal you've gotten on any RCI cruise within the past year and what was your secret (which sale, C&A discount, local rate, casino credit, etc. if known)? Any particular time of year or time out from sailing that seems to be the best to look for? My current best deals: 2/8/18 Brilliance of the Seas 4 night Western Caribbean (Tampa) - With casino discount certificates ($1500 total) and casino rate, DH and I got Grand Suite for free! Just paid $271 for taxes/port fees and gratuities! Yay!! 8/24/18 Adventure of the Seas 7 night Canada/New England (Newark) - For family of 4 (kids will be 9 and 11), paid $6,022 including gratuities for Owner's Suite! Used $1,000 off for casino discount certificates, plus kids sail free promo and BOGO 50% off. Had originally booked a Grand Suite at $5750 but then they started the kids sail free promo which allowed the upgrade to Owners Suite for only $250. Excited since this will be our first time in this type of suite. Feel free to share your deals and tips!
Giantfan13 Posted November 21, 2017 #2 Share Posted November 21, 2017 We have gotten great deals this year. We just got off the Jewel of the Sea, 13 day TA. Inside cabin cost us about $1300 with a $200 OBC. Next is the Grandeur, 9 day sailing mid Feb, again, inside cabin, $429 with $100 OBC. And to top it off, we booked the Rhapsody for Dec 2018, 14 day TA for about $1200 still staying inside. At these rates, we will sail anywhere, it doesn't matter where or which ship. Rare lazydayz Posted November 21, 2017 #3 Share Posted November 21, 2017 Nice rates. We have a four night on Brillance coming up in January in a balcony for less than $140 for both of us. Casino deal, just paid taxes and fees. During Spring break, five nights for four of us in Jr. Suite on the Navigator for $1700.
mugtech Posted November 21, 2017 #4 Share Posted November 21, 2017 Best deals are booking TA and TP cruises that get canceled, resulting in full refunds plus credits to other future cruises. Had one of each, saved over $1,000 on other cruises.
Ashland Posted November 21, 2017 #5 Share Posted November 21, 2017 Our best deal this past year was actually on HOTS when the bookings first opened (and then a couple of sales that RCI forgot to disallow HOTS)..we booked 4 cabins for us and family. Our Boardwalk cabins (last four aft on deck #9): Doubles = $1790.00 Triples = $2599.00 Good deal for me since I was the one paying ;)
STANMELB Posted November 21, 2017 #6 Share Posted November 21, 2017 March 2017. Owners Suite Oasis, $3049 for 2.
champagne123 Posted November 21, 2017 #7 Share Posted November 21, 2017 We never book inside cabins, but when I saw a 12 night on the Grandeur for $644pp, I thought ...WHAT? $50 per night per person???? JUMPED ON IT. I can deal without a balcony for that price. :):):)
LilBlackDress Posted November 21, 2017 #8 Share Posted November 21, 2017 Our best deal was HOTS, same as Ashland. I originally booked it in April of 2015 when it became available. In June they had the 30/30/30 special which saved us a lil bit plus getting more OBC from both RC and my TA. Bottom line we had the 1 bedroom AquaTheater Suite on deck 11 for just a tad over 5k (total for 2 people) with almost 1k in OBC and my stepson was in a Central Park Balcony for $1750 with $250 OBC Deal of a lifetime... I can't even dream about an ATS at the rates they are now, lowest I have seen is over 10k for 2 people!!
cruising grandma Posted November 21, 2017 #9 Share Posted November 21, 2017 We had our complimentary Pinnacle cruise in July in a D2 ocean view balcony on Harmony; only paid port charges, taxes and gratuities.:D Then, in September on Allure shortened cruise because of hurricane, received four night cruise free with OBC and half off next cruise.:D Now cruising Transatlantic on Brilliance in a balcony on deck ten....under $1400 for two 2 week cruise Barcelona to Tampa.:D Love Transatlantics, and gaining hours cruising back from Europe! CruisingNole Posted November 21, 2017 #10 Share Posted November 21, 2017 I booked Oasis 7 night sailing 12/17/17 somewhat last-minute, about 1 month in advance. With taxes and what not included, $1700 for a ocean view balcony for 2 adults. I thought that was a good deal based on some of the other prices I had monitoring, but after reading some of the comments on this post, maybe it wasn't such a good deal. LOL. Live and learn! I could have saved $400 or so by booking an indoor, but after doing indoor on Allure several years ago and experiencing unexpected claustrophobia, I swore off inside cabins for good, regardless of price. The discomfort just wasn't worth a steep discount (for me). The whole waking up and not knowing whether or not it was daytime or still nighttime without having to look at a clock irked me as well. Rare wilmingtech Posted November 21, 2017 #11 Share Posted November 21, 2017 We struggle to get great pricing because we have 4 kids. Only 2 are 12 and under and this will be our last year for KSF as one of them turns 13 this summer. Those 2 extra kids typically mean we have to pay for an additional room regardless. On our March cruise we got a 2 bedroom Family Oceanview on Freedom for 3600.00 for an 8 day (inclusive of taxes not grats) with 300$ obc for the 6 of us. Great room and thought it was a great deal but after reading some of these I am starting to wonder ;). Our cruise coming up this December we got into 2 balconies on Anthem for all 6 of us for 4200.00 for an 8 day (inclusive of taxes not grats) with 650$ of OBC. If it was just Wifey and I and we had the same budget we'd almost be Diamond by now ;) -Sean Sent from my SM-N950U using Tapatalk

Was able to call and get it switched to a JS guarantee and also got $100 OBC, November 2nd.
Smyles Posted November 21, 2017 #15 Share Posted November 21, 2017 7 Night Eastern Caribbean on Harmony in Feb 2018. We have a 10th floor, 2nd from end boardwalk balcony for the 3 of us, $2500CAD ($1950US) including taxes and fees. Was a balcony guarantee, kids sale free and 50% off second guest. Cigar King Posted November 21, 2017 #16 Share Posted November 21, 2017 Royal pays me to go on cruises. It's all inclusive, so I don't need to pay for anything, drinks, spa, the who shebang. I'd go more often, but, I get taxed on the full list price, and the taxes are killing me. ;-)
accio_7 Posted November 21, 2017 #17 Share Posted November 21, 2017 I got a decent price for my upcoming 8 night Eastern Caribbean December 8th, 2018 solo cruise on Adventure of the Seas this past August. $951 Canadian for a studio, going to keep monitoring the price until final payment next summer :)
flowerone Posted November 21, 2017 #18 Share Posted November 21, 2017 I got a great rate for February 18, 2018, Oasis of the Seas, Boardwalk Balcony, which I booked the end of May 2017, for a total of $1800 which included all taxes and fees for a party of two. OBC $50. Today that rate is $3000. Used agency with no down payment. They do make you pay your final payment ten days before the cruiseline requires it
tigers317 Posted November 21, 2017 #19 Share Posted November 21, 2017 I am getting on Independence on Monday for a 6 day cruise and we got it for $175 per person for an interior room. We got $100 obc and free internet.
njm5378 Posted November 21, 2017 #20 Share Posted November 21, 2017 Royal Suite on Navigator 9 night ABC for $7k for the 4 of us. Also ended up with $900 obc after there was an issue with our free grats (Thank you resolutions dept). We booked as soon as the itinerary was released. Currently and Owners Suite is almost double what we paid. Last October we sailed on Oasis in AS 11330. Paid $5900 for the 4 of us. Also an early booking. Rare John&LaLa Posted November 21, 2017 #21 Share Posted November 21, 2017 Best deals are booking TA and TP cruises that get canceled, resulting in full refunds plus credits to other future cruises. Had one of each, saved over $1,000 on other cruises. Yep, Mariner fiasco brought our 13 night Singapore to Dubai JS to $1644 all in for both of us with $200 OBC and free tips for one of us. I could have dropped it another $737 if I applied the FCC from the cancelled TA. But that would be a hardship on my TA, I might lose the $100 agency discount and those free tips. So I'll use that on something else. The cheapest is still the Oasis 4 day Irma cruise. $138 total for a hump JS after refundable obc and FCC. Plus 21 C&A points, and $100 original obc. So I guess it was really $38 Sent from my HTC One_M8 using Forums mobile app
Mikew0805 Posted November 21, 2017 #22 Share Posted November 21, 2017 We booked our Hawaii cruise 17 months early, and got an extended balcony forward on deck 7. We paid a total of $1675 for two for the 15 nights in 2007.

jeditden Posted November 21, 2017 #25 Share Posted November 21, 2017 $299/pp for 7 nights Valentine's Day week on Rhapsody, Western Caribbean. Also got $25 credit from Royal, and $25 from TA. Sure it was an interior room, but I'm not that picky.
