Lady Chew Posted April 16, 2018 #27 Share Posted April 16, 2018 We were on the Eclipse for a month in February, and were very disappointed that we did not have either the coupons or vouchers. That meant you could only go to the Sky Lounge during a fairly limited time and you had to get dressed up a little. You couldn't go in wearing a covered-up bathing suit, or shorts, and you weren't supposed to take drinks out of the lounge (although people did). Since we like to stay out on the pool deck until early evening, we usually didn't have time to get showered & upstairs before the cut-off time. With coupons or vouchers, we could go to the pool bar or Mast bar and get a few bottles of water, a Coke Zero for Mr Chew and a glass of wine for me to take back to my cabin while getting dressed. Oh well, as other have posted, first world problems ... !
Pepsi36 Posted April 16, 2018 #28 Share Posted April 16, 2018 Why do passengers need the Elite Lounge to meet others? Is it forbidden to talk to or meet non Elite or other passengers when not in the Elite Lounge? 🤔 happy cruising 🌊🚢🇺🇸🌅 :D:D:D:DLol, we never made it once to the lounge as the time did not fit in with our plans at all. Either we were on deck or getting ready for the early show.

Oh well, as other have posted, first world problems ... ! Your example is a good one. I suspect that Celebrity will not convert to vouchers on the Sea Pass Card for all cruises. Although it would be an improvement to the program, it is likely to result in more free drinks being distributed. Last January was the first 14 day Eclipse that I can recall that did not use the coupons. The advantage of not having coupons for those of us on a drink package is that the other bars are not as busy from 5-7.
miched Posted April 16, 2018 #31 Share Posted April 16, 2018 What special pin? No special pin but your status is printed on your Sea Pass Card. I always go to Guest Relations and get a new card because the status for some reason is printed larger on the new one and I want others to be able to see it. 🙄🤗 Won’t get into the lanyard discussion. 🤐😱 Happy cruising 🌊🚢🇺🇸🌅
CaribbeanBound Posted April 16, 2018 #32 Share Posted April 16, 2018 We're Elite. I prefer the 5 to 7 lounge for drinks and conversation. The Seapass loading is indeed a good alternative to the coupons. Too bad there is no upgrade on those 3 drinks if you already have a beverage plan. I wonder if they even bother to load 3 drinks onto Seapasses that have the beverage package? Yes, I'll pretend I have an Elite pin too that I proudly brandish while on board. villauk Posted April 16, 2018 #33 Share Posted April 16, 2018 Well, contrary to what some may think, one cannot recognize an Elite member simply by looking at them....unless they are wearing their special pin. I think you are getting mixed up with Royal who do indeed have pins for reaching certain levels (or they used to, together with a certificate). Lately, there does seem to be an abundance of new cruisers to X moving over from Royal (only commenting from reading many of the current posts). Perhaps it’s the LLP influence they are missing ;p? Lastdance Posted April 16, 2018 #35 Share Posted April 16, 2018 There goes that "special elite pin" story once again....I guess if anyone wants one, you will just have to make one and wear it on your cruises if you so choose! Hahahaha! Make sure ELITE is in all caps, so you can shout it out or better yet, get a huge ribbon around your body with elite, maybe king or queen of, written on it! floridatravelersforlife Posted April 16, 2018 #37 Share Posted April 16, 2018 We just got off of the eclipse today and the free drinks were not loaded onto our seapass it was only in the sky lounge. I heard from one of the bartenders that there are 1500 elite on the April 15th transatlantic eclipse cruise so that is most likely the reason the drinks are loaded on the card, they can't just have everyone in the sky lounge. Sent from my iPad using Forums  Thats about half the pax on the ship!!!!
Rare cruisestitch Posted April 16, 2018 Author #38 Share Posted April 16, 2018 Yes, that’s what we have....an over abundance of Elite, Elite Plus and even 27 Zeniths. There are two Captain’s Club Hostesses. There are not very many people with included drinks packages and not very many with purchased ones either so the various venues where the 3 preloaded drinks could be enjoyed were very busy tonight. eileenover Posted April 17, 2018 #40 Share Posted April 17, 2018 Okay, so if we're suite and elite should we get our drinks in Michael's Club and get our coupons to use in bars around the ship? Also, are we barred from the elite get-togethers?
davekathy Posted April 17, 2018 #41 Share Posted April 17, 2018 Okay, so if we're suite and elite should we get our drinks in Michael's Club and get our coupons to use in bars around the ship? Also, are we barred from the elite get-togethers? You're not just limited to Michaels's Club. No drink coupons. Also not all sailings have drinks loaded on your Seapass card. We did a B2B cruise on the Equinox March of this year and drinks were not loaded on our Seapass cards for either cruise. Depends on the number of Elite and Elite plus for that cruise. No you are not barred from attending the Elite gatherings in the Sky lounge or whatever the name of the lounge is called on the ship you are cruising on. Rare cruisestitch Posted April 17, 2018 Author #42 Share Posted April 17, 2018 Eileen, of course you aren’t “barred” from Elite events. Don’t make things more complicated than necessary, All day long you can get drinks in Michael’s Club (suite perk) From 5-7 if you want to you can go to the Elite cocktail party where one of three scenarios will be in play. If not too many Elites, it will be in Sky Lounge from 5-7, If more, they could issue you coupons for 3 drinks per night to be used between 5-7 and specific bars. If even more, they could load your Seapass card with three drinks per night, to be enjoyed between 5 and 7 again at specific locations, Eventually option two will disappear as the coupon system becomes obsolete. Rare cruisestitch Posted April 30, 2018 Author #44 Share Posted April 30, 2018 Further updates. There was no Senior Officer’s party. Those who would normally be invited but who aren’t yet Elite received three paper coupons valid for one night only, presumably in replacement of the drinks they would have received had there been a senior officers party. gold1953 Posted May 1, 2018 #45 Share Posted May 1, 2018 Just got off as well. They opened the Sky Lounge for us at 4:30 each day. We were the only ones there the first day until almost 5 pm. We could also get our free drinks in the dining room until 7 pm. The only place not included was the World Bar. According to Catherine the cc. host she was the only one. They did have help at the door to the lounge at elite breakfast. We heard bitching people as they liked to share their coupons. We liked the system very much. Both Tuscan and Quisine were open for elite breakfast

We liked the system very much. Both Tuscan and Quisine were open for elite breakfast It was the same on the Silhouette TA. The lounge opened at 4:30 and was quite crowded most evenings. We usually had our third drink either in the MDR or the theatre. The wine, both Merlot and Sauvignon Blanc, was significantly better in the MDR than the lounge and our server was generous with top ups! There was not much in the way of checking at the Elite breakfast, and what there was was after we had served ourselves at the buffet but before we sat down. We did see one couple escorted out, but not sure why. They were not too happy. Sheila
Rare cruisestitch Posted May 1, 2018 Author #47 Share Posted May 1, 2018 Now on the first European cruise, same situation.... drinks are loaded onto cards, redeemable at many venues including dining room and Cafe al Bacio. No Senior Officers’ Party. Also they are selling the coffee cards again, so that wasn’t just a transatlantic thing.
CruisingChick Posted May 1, 2018 #48 Share Posted May 1, 2018 Is the reason they are not holding the Senior Officer's Cocktail party because there are too many Select and up Captain's Club members? That's one thing I do like to attend is the Sr. Officer's party. We typically don't go to the Captain's Club Celebration any longer as on the cruises we have taken it's held around 1 pm, sometimes even earlier. Kiwifromkiev Posted May 1, 2018 #50 Share Posted May 1, 2018 Well, contrary to what some may think, one cannot recognize an Elite member simply by looking at them....unless they are wearing their special pin. But why does one need to recognise an Elite member??? I connect with people I like, not because of their status. The whole thing reeks with snobbism dare I say!
