Alaska Live, July 17th - 27th. Just the tip of the iceberg.

Great job on the review, Andrew! Love the ship pics and food porn. We're on the northbound Radiance in 33 days, and our cabin is just down the hall from yours, 1034. Our land tour is on our own, as we'll take the train north to Fairbanks to visit our daughter.

We are approaching the inlet for Hubbard Glacier.

Camera mounts are ready. Batteries are charged. The naturalist is on board. The sun has come out after this picture was taken.

Just want to chime in and say I'm loving your review. Hubby and I cruised three years in a row to Alaska and we still want to go back soon! We always sail in early/mid September and LOVE the weather - cool mornings and warm afternoons. This Floridian would go to Alaska in a heartbeat.

Also, for those who are interested in the Aurora Borealis. I saved this website to my favorites and checked it practically everyday leading up to our cruises. It gives you the probability of seeing the lights in the area where you are sailing. That being said, it shows how far down the Northern Lights could "likely" be seen. Other factors such as cloud cover, city lights, time of sunset, etc. can interfere with visibility.

We saw the Northern Lights as far south as Juneau on September 12th a few years back. They were a little faint, but I was still in awe.

Thank you very much for posting the cabin and ship pictures, Andrew! That is one incredible cabin! I could certainly get used to cruising in that kind of style!

I am really enjoying the Alaska pictures! I appreciate the time you are taking during your vacation to share them with us!

For those looking for episodes of Northern Exposure I bet you can get box sets on Amazon. I have the first season at home on the soon to be antiquated DVD, which was once available for purchase at Best Buy.

One of our stops today, Talkeetna, is the town that Roslyn was based upon.

My alarm just went off. It’s shower time.

You can also often get them (or request them) free at your local library. I just watched Season 1 and 2.

The stateroom looks very nice. Some posts said the ship was run down but by the looks of your pictures she looks very good. Did you eat in the main dining room? Food looked very tasty too. Love the info!

Today they hosted a suite brunch and we attended. It isn’t normally our type of thing but they did have food. We got to meet the Hotel Director Philip. He asked Owen if he needed anything and Owen chimed that he’d like a strawberry daiquiri, virgin obviously, and the wheels were put into motion. LOL, no one else got any special order in the drink department. Minutes later the Food and Beverage Manager showed up with Owen’s drink. One high five later Owen was sipping it up. The food was great and for an event that really isn’t my type of thing it was a lot of fun.

We also made it to the MDR tonight. We haven’t been there for over 4 years and the first comment from our waiter was, we missed you. Was that for last night, or the last four years?

We got the Royal treatment. The food was good, not excellent but they are cooking for the masses not a couple dozen. It was presented well, hot, tasty and the menu had good selection. They offered and had escargot. The head waiter stopped in and lowered the electronic blinds, on everyone, when the ladies had said the sun was in their eyes.

Owen had the burger and the rest of us had the pork shank. I’d post photos except they aren’t loading. The one I really wanted to post was of the raisin that was found in the slice of bread. I’m not making this up, honestly.

And then there was the glacier. You know, Hubbard. She didn’t leave us disappointed either. An hour before we sailed in the channel the sun broke and let’s just say it was awesome. It was 56F and no clouds. Jeans and a T-shirt for me. Shot over 200 photos, ran time lapse and my GoPro. I’m going to say goodnight early and sort through them. If wifi is better later I might post a few pics. It’s going to be tough to choose.

There’s that raisin I told you about, in a piece of bread. Dates at Giovanni’s is bad enough, but really who would do such a thing to bread. They shall be put off in Juneau tomorrow.

Just wanted to thank you for taking the time out from your cruise to post updates. Out of my 17 cruises the Alaska one was my 2nd favorite (nothing can top a first cruise right?). I lived on my balcony and saw so much wildlife go by, including whales. Not to mention all the waterfalls and icebergs, which I became obsessed with photographing. Enjoy your cruise and thanks for the updates.

Live from the balcony right now. Sun is shining and it’s cool in just boxer shorts. Tip for the southerners, don’t go on you balcony in just boxers.

LOL, no pictures as the wifi is not cooperating. ;)

Y'all have a fantabulous day and don't forget to get some hot cocoa on the deck while enjoying the glaciers!!!!;p[emoji41]:*

LOL, I think you must mean a Long Island ice tea. It going to close to 80F here today. Sunscreen and swimsuits.

Damn it, Explorer is going to be docked beside us with her seducing flow rider. Maybe I can get a visitors pass. Just one hour to myself is all I need.

Emmy thanks for the PZTV welcome pics. That also reminds me, don’t go on the balcony in boxers. Also thank-you for help in answering my questions the last few months.

Gotta love the Suite Brunch, sure makes you feel special. We even commented on the dishes and they sent us back to our cabin with a plateful of more stuff! They practically forced it on us.

The little potatoes with beef tenderloin on top was amazing. That could be a meal on its own.

I am so enjoying your posts. I leave on the radiance on August 17th and am so excited.

I am more than happy to bring you and the rest along virtually.
