Evening cocktail hour policy?

As Captain's Club Elite Plus members, we enjoy going to the evening cocktail hour. We will be traveling with a couple on an upcoming cruise who are experienced cruisers, but are first-timers on Celebrity. I'm wondering if there's a way they could accompany us to the cocktail hour? Would they be permitted to attend and buy their own drinks? Could my husband and I each take one person as a guest? I'm not trying to do anything that would be against policy, I'm trying to determine what the policy is.

BBsails...we did a B2B cruise on the Equinox March/April 2018. We met two ladies one evening in the Sky Lounge during the HH. We sat with them for about half an hour. They both were in the same cabin and one was Elite and the other had no tier level status (first ever cruise). The Captain's Club host allowed the Elite member to escort the nonmember each evening. Agree, consult the Captains Club host on the second evening (first evening for the HH). Didn't ask or pay attention to how the drinks were handled for the nonmember.

My MIL was sharing a cabin several years ago with an Elite member, so of course, she was invited to the party. A 3rd non-Elite lady, was traveling with them in her own cabin. The three of them attended every night.

It can happen, but don't count on it (the Elite member was a very charming older lady) :)

There are so many Elite and up in recent years on each cruise and usually cards are checked at the door. The issue is seating . Also making allowances for one person opens it up for others to complain

Two possibilities that might occur on your cruise. 1) Depending on the number of elites, they sometimes partition off a section of the sky lounge for the elites and the rest is open to anyone....purchasing their own drinks. 2) they may issue coupons/tickets for three drinks a night during 5-7 usable at most bars. Generally this is done when there are more elites than they can handle in the sky lounge...but it's happened on other cruises as well, perhaps as a trial or for some unknown reason. If you get coupons, you can certainly drink with your friends at any of the bars and they buy their own drinks (no, you can't share your coupons with someone else).

If neither of the above apply, you can plead your case to the captain's club host(ess).....the "policy" is that only those who are elite and above or those staying in the same cabin with an elite/elite + are welcome at the elite party.

Simple answer is no...They check each card at the entry point. You also cannot take drinks out. If you get the coupons then you can join your friends anywhere but the coupons are for limited # drinks and usage is decided on a cruise by cruise basis,

Any exception devalues the perk...and would crowd the room with ineligible cruisers.

As mentioned, on rare nights they do have non Elites able to be at the paying portion of the bar.,,but unusual.

I don't want to suggest that anyone violate the policy, but our observation, on recent Celebrity cruises is that, the captain's club host(ess) and assistant leave at 7pm when it's no longer necessary to check folks in for the complimentary drinks. If you happen not to have finished your drink or glass of wine, there really is nothing but your conscience stopping you from taking it with you as you go to dinner or wherever.

Being that you are Elite Plus I would think that you sailed enough to know the answer and also appreciate the priviledge that was earned by you and others.

happy cruising 🌊🚢🇺🇸🌅

Yes the simple answer is no. But, if you put one of you in each cabin you should be fine. It works best if the cabins are side by side on a S Class ship. Have the room Stewart open the divider on the balcony. Talk to the Captain Club Host or Hostess. The rules are that the person in your cabin can go to the Elite events with you.

Bottom line, no, you can't bring in your friends to the 5-7pm cocktail lounge.

Not so fast, based on cabin-mate of an Elite getting into the cocktail hour as suggested above and I've experienced when not traveling solo...if both partners are Elite plus and they're opening to switching roommates...." set a course for adventure..."

:-)

Now, that's the exception rather than the rule.

We have been on some sailings on Reflection where the Elite Cocktail Hour is also in the Ensemble Lounge and the Passport Bar in addition to the Sky Lounge. I suppose because the Sky Lounge on that ship is so much smaller. The OP didn’t specify which ship but if sailing on Reflection it would be easy to have your friends join you at the other venues on their own dime.
