ronews Posted August 21, 2018 #51 Share Posted August 21, 2018 Drink a ton of beer....Hey at least I am honest? I'm with you on that idea! I do get my walk in on the promenade...from the Mast Bar to the Sunset Bar. There are some stairs so you can work up a thirst. Also Casino Bar for (Saturdays) NCAA Football Sundays NFL. Or last time was March Madness. I meet so many great people on sea days my favorite time in a cruise.
CruisinNewb Posted August 21, 2018 #52 Share Posted August 21, 2018 Sleep in. Wake up with a big plate of Celebrity waffles. x2 (Thank you to Texed for turning me on to those delicious waffles) Although I must admit to doing this every day on board and not just sea days.:) Besides the waffles we love to: Wake up later. Extra time in the gym. Working off the calories from said waffles. Visits to Cafe Al Bacio. Balcony time. Trivia. We are more observers then participants but it is still fun. Visiting the various bars especially our favorite the Martini Bar. We love to chat and make new friends. Lunch in the Oceanview Cafe. More balcony time, perhaps even a nap. We aren't sun worshippers and the poolside drama is one we try to avoid. Occasionally we find a spot away from the pool and enjoy reading or surfing the internet, listening to music or all of the above. I love sea days. Denny01 Posted August 21, 2018 #53 Share Posted August 21, 2018 I sit down the night before with the day’s schedule and mark out all I want to do and join in on, then we sleep in, missing the morning programs I’d checked off on. Then wander the ship and get into a discussion with people or sit in El Bacio with friends, snack, drink good coffees and play cards, or wander the upper decks and miss the mid-day programs I’d checked off on. Then go to the Elite happy hr and have a wine or so, then dinner and talk again and enjoy the balcony at night, and miss the evening programs I’d checked off on.........you get the idea. Sea Days are one of the big reasons I love the ocean cruise. Done land tours and river cruises, and love them, but every day is packed and no leisure days built in unless you cnx a major tour. Enjoy them, but gets full and busy. Den

dgparent Posted August 22, 2018 #57 Share Posted August 22, 2018 I'm with ya! Cocktails, casino and if it's football season NCAA on Sat or NFL on Sunday in Casino Bar. I'm pretty much a degenerate. But it's my vacation.. I meet a lot of great people on sea days. I am with you two, I love beer and sports so much I will even watch soccer as long as the beer is cold. trivia addict Posted August 22, 2018 #58 Share Posted August 22, 2018 CrusinNewb, why only an observer at Trivia? Find a team and give it a try! We have met wonderful friends for the cruise, and often afterwards, by teaming up and playing! If you are on the Equinox this October, you are welcome to join! HappySailer88 Posted August 22, 2018 #60 Share Posted August 22, 2018 Here's a clue: They keep the do not disturb sign on the stateroom door all day;) Hopefully you have the Bev Package, in there that long you will need to keep hydrated;) ;)

We mostly cruise in January so we watch the NFL playoffs on Saturday and Sundays. My husband drinks the beer and I drink the wine and we have a grand old time. Our next one is a 2 week cruise so we should get to see 4 days of games if we are lucky.
Peggy Sue Posted August 23, 2018 #62 Share Posted August 23, 2018 LOVE sea days! Life just slows down and you can drift through the day doing exactly what pleases you. Enjoy the fact that we don't have to make a bed, clean a room, cook a meal, or get ready to go ashore. No agenda, no one demanding our time. Our time is 100% ours. We enjoy taking time for coffee, talking with people, and indulging in one of the delicious pastries (love the lemon tarts) Wonder back to our cabin, enjoy the balcony, take a nap, go for more coffee, sometimes we have sushi for lunch, we read our books, talk walks holding hands and talking with each other ...dreaming about and planning our future vacations. It's surprising, but by the end of the day we are tired! We avoid the pool deck crowds, but there are plenty of nooks and crannies to check out on the ship. mackjack9139 Posted August 24, 2018 #64 Share Posted August 24, 2018 Wake up. Get dressed in gym clothes and get a latte and small pastry from Cafe al Bacio. Consume. Work out in the gym. Rinse off and change into swimsuit and sundress. Go to Oceanview for brunch...or MDR if had slept in and it's already open for lunch. Read poolside and have a drink or two to get loosened up for the poolside modern line dance/Zumba thing! Eat and drink and read more in the sun. Probably go to Trivia around 4. Get changed into evening clothing and meet up for pre-dinner drinks/music. Eat. Find post-dinner drinks/music/entertainment. Maybe head to the disco! (But often times we stay up late dancing the night before a sea day and are pooped at the end of the sea day)

Den My experience on M-Class ships was that it was easy to get a freshly made waffle because there were never any sitting waiting to be taken so the line formed and you got in that line and waited. On my recent Silhouette trip (Dec 2017), I saw waffles that were made and waiting for somebody to take. I didn't know if they had been made 30 minutes ago or 5 minutes ago, but I got one and didn't think they tasted as good as I had remembered. Can you ask the folks behind the counter to make a fresh one for you?

Rare Texed Posted August 25, 2018 #72 Share Posted August 25, 2018 Can you ask the folks behind the counter to make a fresh one for you? Walter, Absolutely! That is the only way I want them. I always make a request to cook them a special way, that way I do not need to eat the ones under the heat lamp. :D
