New Casino Prime Member - Questions

Got back from the Oasis norovirus 2019 cruise last week and I"m Signature. I got my cruise certificate for free balcony, but this is the first I'm hearing about getting ANY cruise less than 8 days. Just asked my wife if we wanted to change our March Break trip with the kids snowboarding in Mt Tremblant, Quebec, to a short cruise instead. So now we're going to book 4 night western on Independence.

 

I spend a bit of time on the slots, but I also play crabs and BlackJack. Obviously every pull can be accounted for very easily on a slot machine and the points awarded accordingly based on the wager. I usually spend $4 - $8 a spin. At a BJ table, I joked to the dealer that she was going too fast, and if she's getting paid by the hand. She says, well they count how many hands she deals. Next time you're there take a look. There are sensors on the Insurance line where the cards are laid out. Once you're seated, your seapass is entered in the system. Each hand is counted as the cards are dealt. The points are determined by your average bet. Usually the pit boss goes around with a clipboard and records your average bet. This is a much better system than land casinos where it's based on time. Some people just sit there and play a few hands, sit around grab a drink chat a bit. If you do that here, you earn nothing. As soon as you skip a bet, you'll see them turn you off on the keypad next to the tray. 

 

But yes, you can easily see your slot points from the machine, but you need to ask the host to add up your points to see the table points. One more interesting thing I also learned, you can use your slot points towards your onboard account on the last night. I normally just redeem it for more play, but I suppose it's the same.

That makes sense. They take your win/loss ratio into account. Even if you didn't spend a lot of time at the casino, but you took a beating, they'll consider that and give you a $$$ off a future cruise. Example was my brother on the Oasis, got sick on 3rd day from the outbreak. Wasn't able to return to the casino. When I picked up my certificate I asked the host about my brother. She looked him up and said, she'll give him $200 off a future cruise, but when he calls CR, ask them to check his win/loss ratio and they may be able to give him more.

I am on Ovation now from Sydney and the sign in the Casino says it's 4000 points for the free instant one now, hopefully that's not fleetwide. I know in the Asian ones it is a lot higher than the 2400 that was originally required.

BTW, that 85% payback is not individual, it's overall.  So when a $10K jackpot get's hit, one person does very well and a whole bunch lose almost everything.  At least that's my understanding. 

Our group got balcony  oceanview cabins 😊 on Symphony for April 2020. For 1050.00 plus 150 obc. Just have to book early and have a great TA.

I wasn't aware until reading this thread that OBC was awarded in the casino. I play exclusively table games, and almost always at the lowest minimums offered, but I'm in there for 2-3 hours a day. Might that warrant me a small bit of OBC? If so, who should I be talking to once on board?

I am a Prime member and get email offers for a free cruise regularly.  The last 3 cruises I have taken have been free inside cabins.  I travel solo and they give me double C&A points as if I had paid the single rate.  It's wonderful!  I have no idea how they calculate the points.  I play tables mostly, but also slots. I spend a lot of time in the casino and usually play the minimum bet.  Lately, it's been $10 on the tables.  I love getting the free drinks.  I just got an offer for a free inside cabin on a 7 day Med cruise out of Rome.  I booked immediately.  Can't wait for that cruise!!  Will be on Adventure 1/27.

We are usually Carnival and Princess cruisers, but have recently branched out to RCCL.  I am a slot player, DH plays mostly tables.  On Carnival and Princess I get the better offers, but have had zilch from RCCL.  DH has received many offers from Casino Royale, but nothing impressive.  I was wondering if I was missed in the system somehow.  On Carnival and Princess once you put your card in a slot they know who I am and my offers start soon after I return home.  I play a lot in the casino, so something seems off.  We are on Harmony soon.  What do you suggest I do to verify my account is being properly annotated?

You could call Casino Royale and verify the details.  Did you reach 2,500 points on your last cruise?  If so, you are likely in line for some offers.

Thanks. I don't remember my points. I'm pretty sure that I am not at the "free cruise" level, but I would have expected some offers along the lines of my DH. I will call Casino Royale.  RCCL definitely runs their program differently and I just haven't cruised enough with them to understand the program.

Just off the phone with Casino Royale staff.  I had a couple of numbers on the website that I had not received any details on.  I gave her the numbers and she immediately emailed me the information on the cruises that were available.

I was able to book a balcony on a 9 day cruise next fall, yeah!!!

I've just had a look at that site and aside from my Annual Cruise Benefit I've now been given an 'Instand Rewards Certificate' for $400.  I'll be calling them later but has anyone had any success combining them,  I'm planning on upgrading my annual one to a balcony, so if I could use the $400 for that, it would be perfect.

These certificates cannot be combined. The only casino certificates that can be combined are couples’ certificates earned on the same cruise.

In theory that works, but you are accumulating points much slower at tables than she would be at slots. Table games are earning you points on your average wager based on 10 minute increments, where as slots are measured on each pull.

Before you start gambling introduce yourself to casino host so they can keep track of your table play.  Then last night of cruise revisit the host to see if you earned enough points for a certificate.  

Slots earn the fastest reward in points.
