"Prime " is right on your seapass card now..no need to ask for a sticker.

...unless it isn't.  On one of our recent cruises (can't remember which ship) for some reason my husband's Seapass card had "Prime" on it but mine didn't.  He got a welcome letter from the Casino Host but I didn't.  When we went to the casino, the host told me that he didn't show me as Prime.  Somehow they had created a second account for me but the Host finally got it all straightened out and said he successfully merged the 2 accounts.  I am very dubious about this.  Once RC creates 2 accounts for you for ANYthing it is usually a Charlie Foxtrot. That's why I am keeping very close watch on my points.

Tables is much harder to get to prime so we normally stick to machines. We got to 2800 points in one cruise (2500 is prime) doing 2-3 hours per day with slots minimum bet $5 a spin.

So how much did it cost you in casino losses?

It all depends on how lucky you are My wife rarely spends more than 3 or 4 hundred dollars on a cruise. But has earned as much as 1200 points during a 7 night cruise. It's calculated on how much you put through the machine not how much you put in it.

We are both Prime and receive free drinks in the casino and each get a free cruise for 2, up to 8 nights inside cabin. Holidays excluded.

So I called CR again today and they assured me I only need another 54 points to become Prime and then we have April 2019 until March of 2020 to pick an inside cabin and complete  any cruise up to 8 days excluding holidays. Looks like we will be doing the two night Mariner in Feb. Should I wait and see what kind of certificate I receive in January for the cruise I just finished before booking the two nighter. My certificate is for $250. Would I possibly get a better one in January since I'm so close to Prime?

Where do you find out the different casino levels such as Prime and Signature or whatever there is and perks?  We usually cruise Carnival and they don't have casino levels but do have different offers, which lately are not that good, so we are thinking of switching to RCCL to see if we can get better comps.

I read somewhere that you get 1 point for every $5 you spin. Is that accurate?

That is correct

So if it takes 2500 points to make Prime status, that's 2500 spins at $5 per spin, for a total of $12,500 wagered.

Let's assume an 85% average payback on the slots, (which could be high), which would give you a 15% loss, or $1875.

That's $500 more than I paid for a balcony on my upcoming Adventure cruise.

But,

What if you are on a run. Where you are playing, but not losing?

When Laura boarded Rhapsody yesterday no prime on her sea pass, but she did have the welcome letter.

1) You can't get a $1,375 balcony cabin on Symphony 😉

2) Drinks in the casino are free 🍺 For a year.

3) They probably had fun doing it 😎

4) They earned a certificate for close to $500 on a future cruise

BTW, that 85% payback is not individual, it's overall.  So when a $10K jackpot get's hit, one person does very well and a whole bunch lose almost everything.  At least that's my understanding.

You actually get 2 free cruises for 2500 points.  One instant certificate for an inside cabin on select cruises, and you also become prime, and get another free cruise 8 nights or less in an inside cabin during the next cruise year. You also get free drinks and a discount on internet.

What is the cert worth if you choose the cruise?

I had this issue when I first found out that I was prime and was trying to back track my points starting 1 April 2018.  At first the rep could only tell me my points from my last cruise but after refusing to accept just that she eventually got a supervisor to unlock something in their system so she could give me ship by ship my points from 1 Apr on.

Hi,

Is there anywhere on CasinoRoyale website where you can see your points?  Or do you have to call them only?  We are on Jewel right now & turned Prime.  Host says he can't give us print out of our points history - we just want to be sure before we leave ship that our numbers jive.

Thanks!

No place currently on line to see your points.  Only Casino Royale or Casino Host, Manager, or some Pit Bosses can verbally give you the number.

Thanks.  We ended up asking Concierge for help to call Casino Royale.  We are on Jewel now.  Casino host was able to show us our points but needed to confirm.  Asked for something in writing but they won't provide anything.  Not a very transparent system.

I am not much of a gambler and I used a Casino Royal voucher for $100 OBC on our Freedom Christmas cruise.  Dumb question, is the OBC all you get or is there something more for using the voucher (status, benefits)?

I never saw an OBC voucher from the casino.  All my dollar off certificates were for dollars off a cruise, not OBC.

  • 1 month later...

We just got off  Harmony on 1/13 and both got Prime, he got a certificate for a free balcony cabin and I got one for an ocean view we both also get the yearly free cruise.  Now to figure out how and when to use them.  We would like to take our 3 teen boys on the Harmony this summer and would like to book 2 balcony cabins so will call to see if we can do that and how much it will be to upgrade room & add people.  Should we expect to start getting casino offers via email or snail mail from now on?
