h20cruzer Posted February 11, 2019 #753 Share Posted February 11, 2019 Still dying to see more pictures of veranda cabins and public spaces. I'm tired of computer renderings. Bathroom products don't make or break my cruise. Appreciate everyone's input, that's what these boards are about. Norma

It just irks me when people act as if companies owe us. The reality is they are in competition with other lines and if they don't give us what we expect we go elsewhere. If a company can't change to meet the expectation of their customers they go out of business. Just look at JC Penny's, Sears, KMart and Toy's are Us. All use to be GREAT companies but just couldn't change their business model to meet the desire of their customers. 8

Fun Fact: I was a bank branch manager in Manhattan many, many years ago and the original Bigelow Pharmacy was my customer! Love CO Bigelow,...we use it in our Fla place..very refreshing ! Those huge dispensers are very pricey..we buy smaller guest size ones,. Love the scent for the shower gel and lotion. I always bring my own shampoo on board..keritin friendly! The rugs are "dizzingly" hideous..Everything else looks nice..but chairs seem low to the ground....many areas seem to be showing darker in photos than I expected Edited February 11, 2019 by hcat

The carpet pattern is a more traditional print and not in line with the other more artistic contemporary patterns. Additionally, the chairs look older style. Did they not refresh that area? JC Penney should be a warning of changing too quickly, and missing the mark of what your customer base wants. Toys'R'Us couldn't compete with Amazon, and got stuck with isles of unsold Star Wars Toys (also missing the mark in intriguing current children). Mainly, Toys'R'Us was guilty of it's earlier success, and drowned from its own debt of 6.6 Billion from a leveraged buyout. I fail to see how these photos are going to be used to draw in new clientele. We're all bias here though, so maybe it's hard to tell ourselves. I wander what cruisers from MSC, Royal Caribbean, and Princess would say, if pitched these photos? Or even non-cruisers, comparing the 4 lines? That's why it's important to have professional shots done where they control the lighting and every other aspect to represent the space as they want to.

Edit: I'm one of those hotel toiletries hoarders too, and I'm not ashamed to admit it! Guilty as charged 🙂 - we love collecting decent toiletries from our stays as well. Best haul ever, probably our last stay at the MO in HK. Twice a day they gave a full room replacement of about 8 Acqua Di Parma Colonia items - in 4 nights we got about 60 items. Silly little things like the quality of toiletries makes a difference to us, although hopefully we would never be so mad as to pick a hotel based on toiletries . Cheap rubbish toiletries in upmarket hotels always feels like an example of Fur Coat no Knickers - (Wynn hotels Desert Bambu was probably the worst we've had in an upmarket hotel - I think Lather made that stuff). Not a fan of most of the Gilchrist and Soames stuff, we don't bother bringing that back with us.
CLT_Deac Posted February 11, 2019 #768 Share Posted February 11, 2019 I'm excited to see the photos! And I'm sure more will be coming in the next few days. We were on Summit last year and will be again this April (post refurbishment). IMHO, the biggest changes appear to be in the staterooms and Retreat Lounge (Michael's Club). I really like the lighter colors in those spaces. Looking forward to pictures of the new Retreat SunDeck!

I agree about Gilchrist and Soames, but I bring them home anyway. 😕 I love the Malin and Goetz product lines. What's most important to me are the body lotions. If I'm going to be out sunning I'm going to need to moisturize my skin after showering off the sunscreen. I take the little bottles with me to use at the gym after my workout, steam, sauna and shower. Which is actually my routine on a cruiseship too! Rare printingchick Posted February 11, 2019 #771 Share Posted February 11, 2019 I didn't see anything on the Qsine sign identify Le Petit Chef. Does anyone know what's going on with Qsine? I have reservations for my Summit cruise and I was expecting the Revolution to update ALL the Qsine restaurants to feature Le Petit Chef. Thanks!! They are there to make money and they will always choose the path to the higher revenue... rightly so . The omnipresent feeling of extreme entitlement on the guest side is something that also drives me crazy sometimes. I pay for a cruise and I get a cruise. Up until now all of those cruises were great. I don’t need „free“ drinks and all the stuff which seems so important to some. I also do not expect to be treated any better than a first time cruiser who, for the lack of discounts and perks, actually makes the cruise line more money than I do. I am happy if Celebrity makes a good profit. 1. because I am a shareholder and 2. because it enables them to create more nice ships for me to enjoy.

jkgourmet Posted February 11, 2019 #775 Share Posted February 11, 2019 So I'm still looking for a photo of an OV cabin. This was one that MIGHT have changed the most - from a large square shaped window to a large round window. Anybody??????
