Rare A&L_Ont Posted January 27, 2019 Author #76 Share Posted January 27, 2019 Christmas and my birthday brought me a couple of new items. I promise not to lose this one in the Caribbean Sea, at least not this week. 😉 1
Rare A&L_Ont Posted January 27, 2019 Author #77 Share Posted January 27, 2019 (edited) A few pics outside. They are getting ready for the Marathon tomorrow. Streets will be shut and the masses will be running. Kudos to them. Our Marathon will be can we get to the ship in good time. The route. I’m glad we aren’t getting off the ship tomorrow, with an early morning flight. They are already closing streets tonight. Creating some backlog. and a couple pics of out the window. Mal Posted January 27, 2019 #79 Share Posted January 27, 2019 Room looks really nice. Glad we aren't disembarking in the morning and trying to make a 9:30 am flight like we usually do. (Yes, we're those people...talk about stress). Room service looks good, but it's not Gilbert's! Have a great sailaway. Mal

We are currently sitting in the Concereige Lounge on the 36th floor waiting for our room to be ready. We arrived at 4:40 pm and check in is at 4pm. It is now 6:55pm and our room is still not ready. They also have no idea to when it will be ready. With the Marathon going on there is not availability of rooms either. This is our first visit to this highly rated hotel and needless to say we have not been impressed. We had to cancel a dinner reservation for the Yardbird at 6:30 pm and we have had to cancel another reservation we made for a different location for 7pm. Totally unacceptable. I really don’t know what else to say, than you take your chances if you book here. After all it’s not we showed up at noon looking for an early check in. Maybe there are to many upper tier loyalty members there.🤔😉🤣
Rare A&L_Ont Posted January 27, 2019 Author #81 Share Posted January 27, 2019 So that’s almost it for the night. Final bits that matter. Our itinerary for the week. Our home for the week, a familiar place. If you are on board, stop by and say hello.

It was good but we were really looking forward to The Yardbird. 13 minutes ago, John&LaLa said: Maybe there are to many upper tier loyalty members there.🤔😉🤣 LOL, now that made me laugh. It was actually fairly quiet and we were there from 4:50 to 7:30. I’m not sure how people do it in the SL all week. Rare A&L_Ont Posted January 27, 2019 Author #83 Share Posted January 27, 2019 And now for the last post for the night, in honour of the regretfully retired CC member Cruise Life Rick, I present tomorrow’s OFOTD. It’s for the ultimate germaphobe. 1

PhoenixCruiser Posted January 27, 2019 #85 Share Posted January 27, 2019 The room looks fantastic and the bathroom looks like the Marriott in downtown Chicago. Loved that hotel. I was wondering what loft you had this trip and since it was just the two of you - you surprised me [emoji16]Sent from my SM-N950U using Tapatalk

Cabin service is probably better. Decisions, decisions....

Rare A&L_Ont Posted January 27, 2019 Author #91 Share Posted January 27, 2019 Laying in bed in Miami on cruise morning is the same as laying in bed in Fort Lauderdale. Painfully slow. 4

It would have been much better if you were staying north of the port, at least those roads open by 10. I'm not sure how you get there from your location until after lunch. We ran into the Marathon, last year, but we were fortunate enough to have been staying north of the port (just by dumb luck). Anther strike against your hotel. renza Posted January 27, 2019 #99 Share Posted January 27, 2019 Sorry for the rain. We r loving it. I live in palm beach county. It has been way to dry, so finally we get a day of rain. Happy sailing. Thank you for the live report. Going on oasis next month and symphony in June.
bigjcruiser Posted January 27, 2019 #100 Share Posted January 27, 2019 Following as we are on Allure in April doing the same route (not in a suite though!). We are also staying in the same hotel, also booked with points, would you still recommend despite the wait? We are flying in from the UK that day so wouldn't want to be hanging around waiting for the room. Hope you have a lovely trip, looking forward to hearing all about it!
