Rooms with nothing across the hall

Recommended Posts

I am looking to book a cruise and have it narrowed down to two room choices. The one we want has no connecting door but across the hall there are no rooms. I know in some hallways when there are no rooms they tend to be closets/stairwells for staff working. I don't want to be across from that, but, my TA can't confirm if that is what is on the blank wall or its nothing. The other room is identical, except its a connecting room, and across the hall is other rooms - which is not an issue. I guess my question is, is there any way of finding out what is across the hall from the room we do want - closet, or just a wall? TIA!

I like empty space across from my cabin door.  Does not mean the crew door will be in that area of empty space.  Would not book the connecting cabin as have read some major issues on these boards.  Only book connecting when traveling with friends nest door.

I've done three cruises with connecting doors, and never had a noise issue - not saying there can't be though. Not sure why I am more concerned about it this time. lol.

We're booking Adventure of the Seas, One bedroom Grande Suite.

Sometimes, there is NO closet...just a wall, because there is some sort of space on the other side....like a library, or computer room....We have never been bothered by a storage closet when we've been near or across from one.  I'd rather have that than a connecting cabin.

I'm assuming something on deck 10.....Yes...those are closets.  I wouldn't be afraid of them.  You are likely to hear more from above than across!

...or inside cabins.

If you are on the Adventure of the Seas in a Grand Suite one bedroom on deck 10,  there is a you tube video linked on cruisedeckplans that show cabin 1564 and briefly the passageway outside.  Looks like a cabin steward's supply closet and then several doors.

Okay, so having to look at all decks to find all the grand suites, and then decipher the color scheme, it looks like crewsweeper has the area right.  My guess, just from the orientation of the spaces, and the deck, would be that while there will be a cabin steward linen locker and a service pantry somewhere along that run of cabins between the midships and forward elevators, most of this space will be either guest entertainer cabins or senior officer cabins.

We've always had good luck with booking our JS's across from a blank wall...what may or may not have been on the other side of that wall didn't concern us at all.

Very nice when you have nothing across from you and I also would never book a connecting cabin unless it was going to be occupied by my family member.

We booked a balcony last minute across from a blank wall, sadly it was the storage area for our room steward and oh the noise. I felt really  bad for my BIL who booked in the room right next to it to be close to us.  Lots of banging of glasses, carts, etc.  They were super nice but I will never make that mistake again...unless I really want to go last minute and that is what is left 🙂
