We just checked in to our hotel in Hollywood, and all I can say is, “WOW”!

Casa Pellegrino is wonderful. We were met by the owner’s son, who welcomed us with some of his mother’s homemade limoncello. They also knew we were celebrating our 20th anniversary, and decorated the room a bit for us. They are highly rated on all of the major sites, and they only have 10 or 12 rooms, so don’t delay booking if you’re the slightest bit interested. This hotel is not just an investment for them, it’s their child, and it shows in how they run things and how they treat their guests.

Well, let me be the first to welcome you to Ft. Lauderdale!   I got in about two hours ago and have already visited Starbucks and walked the 17th Street bridge to get a look at the USS Paul Ignatius -- she's being christened tomorrow morning, the newest Arleigh-Burke-class guided missile destroyer.

LOL- wish the christening was on sunday, just saying! Still that's exciting! I'll take a look at her tomorrow AM. We're bushed, long day of travels, still glad we're in the same timezone. Checked into the Renaissance at the Port and walked to kelly's landing for dinner. Sat the bar, they have a really fun bartender, and, their seafood is awesome!  Decent selection of craft beer as well (I always, they only need one good beer. See y'all onboard tomorrow, Outrigger?

Meat & cheese, fruit, and 2 waters were included.....and let’s not forget the homemade limoncello shots at check-in.

They just brought over the family’s wood burning pizza oven from Italy and have installed it in the piazza. Hopefully they’ll have it fired up the next time we stay with them.

The word of the day is “HUMID”

LOL - too say the least, just got back form our walk up to the top of the bridge and Publix for tonic & wine.

Photo of the lines to the Commissioning earlier, and our home for the next 2 weeks!

Boarding was a breeze! At the last minute our Ocean Ready app showed that we were not ready! Good thing we had taken pictures of the pass. We were all checked in within 5 minutes. Would have been less but they had to go get our medallions. Hopefully they will start shipping to Canada. Went to the line for Elite and Platinum. Thought we would have to wait but boarded right away. I was worried that they would “coral” us to the dining areas, but no, we went right to our cabin. Had lunch at buffet which was virtually deserted and now ready to relax 😎

.

Boarding started at 11, rooms were ready at 1.

I wish I could say that check-in was a breeze, but it was a bit of a cluster at first. We popped into the Coral Dining Room for lunch, and our waiter who was just back from vacation, hadn’t found his groove yet. With an empty dining room, it took him fifteen minutes before he approached any tables in his section. Now that the ship is filling up, I’m sure he’s kicked into high gear. There was a nice card from Princess wishing us a happy anniversary, and the flowers I ordered look great

I love limoncello!  What a treat at check-in!!  Will have to keep this place in mind for our next pre-cruise stay <g>.  Have a wonderful cruise!!  That's a great itinerary, a lot of which we've done by car and by ship.

Found it! Now if I can just forget where 😁 FWIW: If you have left over punches from old cards they do NOT add them to the medallion.  It's the same process as b4

A request please if it is convenient and you think of it.  We are on the CB Canada/New England cruise in September that includes Newport.  We can't make up our minds what to do there but considering the land/sea excursion. I would really like to see the Clingstone House on the Rocks and wonder if you will cruise by it going into port where the ship will anchor.  No sense going on the sea cruise excursion if the same thing can be seen from the ship.  Thanks a bunch.  Bon Voyage everyone and wish you calm seas and blue skies.  I will love watching the ship leaving Ft Lauderdale today knowing we will soon be on it.

Sandy
