Hi all,

i have an opportunity to upgrade to a CLS (ocean view)on my cruise in Nov.  I wanted to know those of you who have been in CLS’, was more movement in the back of the ship, more noise or anything I need to be wary of?  I’m a light sleeper and want to make sure it’s quiet at night.

let me know your experiences please.  Happy Cruising!

I don't think I've felt any more movement on the bigger ships, even being up there in a CLS. I will say, our first one was facing the back on the mini golf side and sometimes the music was loud from the flowrider, but during the day only. I never had any sound issues at night. I think the hallways by the CLS are much less chaotic, quieter, and don't have kids running back and forth. Go for it but beware, you may never want to go back to anything else! 😉

Just got off of Symphony in a CL (oceanview). No major movement even though we were traveling at top speed for almost the entire trip. The 17th floor is amazing and it’s nice to have CK and the lounge 30 seconds away.

It is absolutely wonderful on deck 17.....Very private, and very quite with no random foot traffic in the hallway.   Also being the bed is on 18 with no one above, its pretty awesome.   Below is our cabin on the Harmony a few weeks ago, it was such a great experience.

We were in one on the Oasis in August.  I know we were moderately rocking and rolling one night because the velcro on the closet door didn't hold and it was slide, bang, repeat as the door slid open and then slammed shut.

But we didn't really feel anything while laying in bed. I finally got up and put a bandaid on the door to hold it shut.  Thanks to this board, I had a small first aid kit with me and the bandaids came in handy 🤩.

Loved it so much we are booked in a CL again for our next cruise. Not sure I can ever not be in one. Loved the feeling of space, the quiet and the convenience.  Lounge right there and Windjammer one set of stairs right underneath if we wanted to grab something small.

Go for it. Then you can claim sub par service and get a nice FCC. 🤣

You come across as one of those people that books suites and has an email written with preplanned complaints months before your cruise just ready to click send the day you come home.

Pot.....meet kettle.

We love the CLS and have stayed in them repeatedly.

Once the only problem we had with noise is we were sailing thru rough waters one night and as I was waiting for all the consumed alcohol to put me to sleep I kept hearing the wire hangers tinging in the closet.............almost as painful as a dripping fawcett......so not wanting to get out of my comfy spot I asked (told) DH to fix it.

He did.

In the morning all the bad hangers were resting soundly on the downstairs carpet.

Other than that we experienced no excessive nuisance noise.

Enjoy, we did.

Safe travels.

We loved our CL on 17 on Allure and would do it again and again if we hit Powerball money. Good times.

Sub par service complainers (that travel first or business class internationally) make me laugh.  The funniest part is that they come here and complain ad nauseam even after getting their FCC.  They don’t remember that couple that was banned from all RCC products for doing just that. Imagine what it feels like to be banned from cruise lines you feel are below you.

Poor analogy.

My comment to Ann, was an inside joke based on an unsubstantiated rumor from last year's President's cruise.

Going to be in our third aft facing CL in a couple of weeks.  Nothing like it IMO.  One tip that I haven't read on here.  You are directly above the Windjammer so the elevator tends to stop on 16 all the time, and people pile on, many with their plates of food that they take back from their room.  Not that big of a deal, but we learned to take the stairs to 16 and walk across the pool deck to the forward elevators whenever possible and if we knew we were ending up towards the front.

Otherwise the CL makes the cruise for us, and the rear facing balconies make for great people watching and you have your ocean views as well.

We love the art facing CLS also.  Favorite is 1730 on Oasis and Allure.

I should have taken John's advice and wrote a complaint about noise directly above us for a couple nights during our 2017 halloween cruise.  Found out from stateroom attendant that Halloween decorations were stored above our cabin.  Maybe I would have gotten some FCC 😈  for being woken up at 3am a couple of times.

Actually I stand by the fact that my comment was well timed & well played.

Sorry you don’t feel that way but in all honesty I don’t care what other people do, complain, wear, tip etc...it doesn’t affect me so why should I?

😃

That is good to know, thanks!
