leight Posted October 25, 2019 #1 Share Posted October 25, 2019 Taking the Navigator 2/24-2/28 and got notice that Nassau was switched from day 2 to day 4 to accommodate Allures issues. There will now be 5 ships in port. Definitely not doing an excursion, but thought to walk to Greycliffe - which is obviously a big tourist stop. Will the port be too crowded with that many ships in port?

leight Posted October 25, 2019 Author #3 Share Posted October 25, 2019 To be able to walk around popular tourist attractions like Greycliffe. We didn't want an excursion, but o thought we would walk to the Manor look around and shop. But if we would get turned away from walking around Greycliffe because they have so many tours scheduled we will just stay on the ship.
Clarea Posted October 25, 2019 #4 Share Posted October 25, 2019 You would have no problem walking to Greycliffe. I would contact Greycliffe directly for tour scheduling info.

Cruiser24 Posted October 25, 2019 #8 Share Posted October 25, 2019 When we were in Nassau in August, there were six ships in port. We got off the ship but turned around and got right back on. It was so crowded you could hardly move. Five doesn’t seem much better.

DeeDee316 Posted October 27, 2019 #10 Share Posted October 27, 2019 Went last August and there were 5 in port. It was busy but ok. We went to the Blue Lagoon and it was easy and so beautiful!
Rare Tapi Posted October 27, 2019 #11 Share Posted October 27, 2019 There were 5 ships in town the last time I went to Nassau. We decided to rented a boat for the day. Here are some photos of us fighting the crowds: 1
MLBFan24 Posted October 27, 2019 #12 Share Posted October 27, 2019 (edited) I was in Nassau with Allure in June, when there were six ships at port. Allure was delayed getting people off the ship and I estimate about 20K+ people around the port. It was crazy. shipgeeks Posted October 27, 2019 #13 Share Posted October 27, 2019 Five or more ships in port there is fairly standard.

Well, they do here in my section of Florida, but they didn't where I grew up on eastern Long Island. In any case, with that many ships in port, be prepared for a line to regain entry to the port area. Nassau is a port where one must have a photo ID to regain entry and the port authorities do carefully look at each ID, no hold up and wave through. The line can be long when a big ship is leaving port and all the passengers are trying to get back before sail away.

Big_G Posted October 27, 2019 #16 Share Posted October 27, 2019 We've never been there when there wasn't at least 5 ships. It might be their daily average.
