OK, I just have to ask.  What the heck are "nice dress shorts"?

not cargo shorts … not athletic shorts for starters

maybe something that a nice country club would allow on the golf course - now some of those places are really strict about attire ...

definitely not "Jorts"

Guess not jeans with ragged edges. I have  Really nice shorts, not called dress shorts. They are wrinkle free polyester pressed with creases. Still not considered dress shorts. They look like polyester dress pants cut short. Very comfortable also. Would not wear them to the evening MDR.

That is a great question.

But a better question is...if the Patter states “No Shorts “ why do people feel they should wear shorts?

I have this in beige & blue. Suit comprised of jacket & shorts. If I can wear it to conservative office, it's ok

I don't know.  I was just curious someone would have "dress shorts".  And, I assumed we were talking about men.  But I guess I"ve learned that starched and pressed polyester slacks hemmed above the knee are considered dress shorts.  Perhaps worn with silk stockings and buckle shoes.  Haha

For Breakfast and for Lunch, I have worn shorts into the Dinning room without a problem.  I have not worn shorts into the dinning room for dinner though.

The same here.   I have never understood why folks get so worked up about what folks choose to wear.

And you determine this how?

Very simple observation.

If you look at the photo of the black shorts you will see  that they are bunching up at the crotch and waist, the right leg hole is narrower than the left, etc.

It’s not that others attire bothers people.

I'll ask my question again. With all of the dining options on board, why do people want to wear shorts in the MDR when the Patter states “No Shorts “?
