SuitesRbest Posted March 15, 2020 #1 Share Posted March 15, 2020 Was at the in-laws today and seen the Pacific Dawn slowly heading out front just off Morton Island, where is it going? No passengers on board are they just going to float around out at sea or heading to a port somewhere ??? More to the fact where are all these ships going to wait out these pause's... Correct, But there is a lot ships just sitting around and I only suspect not many ports to have ships sitting on them.
Roger88 Posted March 15, 2020 #8 Share Posted March 15, 2020 If I am not mistaken there should be an app where you can see all the routes of both ships and airplanes. They have to send their coordinates every hour or smth. If I find it I will leave a comment here. But in any case most likely they sail to the ports that still open. If its carribean it will sail to states , if its Europe then it might be porta in Scandinavia or islabds in Mideterenean

SuitesRbest Posted March 15, 2020 Author #10 Share Posted March 15, 2020 I think near ALL cruise lines are self suspended/Paused? I will stand corrected if not,,..
CupcakeSusie Posted March 15, 2020 #11 Share Posted March 15, 2020 I’m not sure ScoMo thought that one through thoroughly. Just like he didn’t think through his advice for school teachers to just tell students to stay 1.5m apart so they follow social distancing rules. Good luck kindergarten teachers!

The_Big_M Posted March 15, 2020 #14 Share Posted March 15, 2020 There'll be enough docks for ships locally. They don't have to passenger facilities.
Docker123 Posted March 15, 2020 #15 Share Posted March 15, 2020 There is around 20 deep water anchorage points in Port Phillip Bay. So room for lots of boats bobbing along. Plenty of service vessels available for supplies.
Porky55 Posted March 15, 2020 #16 Share Posted March 15, 2020 (edited) Gee guys, there are other deep water ports around our coast, not just Sydney, Melbourne and Brisbane. There’s, Newcastle, and up north Gladstone and of course Fremantle. So that’s three more at least. SA has a few deep water working ports - I’m sure they would share in times of need. That Chinese one in Darwin would’ve been nice 🤔 Rose Edited March 15, 2020 by Porky55
Rare MicCanberra Posted March 15, 2020 #17 Share Posted March 15, 2020 If only these ships had anchors then they could just be off the coast in any slightly protected bay anywhere.

ozziepost Posted March 18, 2020 #25 Share Posted March 18, 2020 There is a couple of anchorages they could use in Corio Bay plus they could refuel at the refinery pier if needed. It would certainly be nice to see a couple of them anchored off the Geelong foreshore.
