I have to pick up some med refills, so I'll get my flu vaccination today when I do that.  My NP said to go to the pharmacy instead of gettng it from her because it would be cheaper.  Hey, a buck is a buck.

Our county health dept. is also worried.  We had a large uptick for us the last 2 weeks.  All of our traditional annual events for Miners Day (here we cal Labor Day Miners Day in honor of our silver mining heritage) have been cancelled.  Hopefully, not having our parade and 10K and other things will keep people from down in Salt Lake coming up here.  Fingers Crossed!

Brain fog continued today in an unacceptable fashion.  Not only did I forget to close the windows again last night, resulting in 56 degrees when I got up, but I poured GRAPEFRUIT JUICE on top of my cereal!!!!  The juice was in the same spot on the fridge door as where my milk usually is.  I didn't even notice it until I went to take a bite - I thought it looked a little watery for milk.  Only then did I realize it was the juice.  It wasn't too bad with the cereal...

OOTD:  Right now, I have my fleece lounge shirt on and covered in my fleece throw.  Yes, it's cold in the house!  Later, when I go to the pharmacy, I'll switch to my cammo pants and a Tshirt.  My curly/wavy hair looks like a mess 2 days after washing.  I don't want to re-wet it again, so it'll be a selection from my baseball hat collection to cover.

Hi girls, I found out today that my new shower doors will be installed on Monday, Sept 14th......😀. I thought

it was going to be next week but they said they have been backed up. Oh well. It is not like there is a rush

for me on it anyway.

I was looking at my VISA account (I have multiple VISA's) and this one, well, I didn't realize how many rewards

points I had accumulated!  Well, I was researching the rewards and they have a ton of restaurants that you

can eat at with those points!  From Seasons 52 to Cheesecake Factory to Carrabba's to LongHorn's.....(that is

just a few). So I decided to use up some of my points and will be getting free meals with them😀  I submitted

the stuff on line and will be getting gift cards to each place within the next week or so.  Really a pleasant

surprise😀

I'll get my flu shot on Sep 22 at work. I had my annual physical today and my doc offered, but I deferred. He wasn't too worried about my Quarantine fifteen--said a lot of folks had gained some. He did stress that the flu shot would be important this year. I think they took all of my blood (five tubes).

I followed my physical with the dentist. I live 45 minutes away from both, so it was awesome to be able to both the same day.

Then I went shopping. Baby gifts at TJ Maxx and crafts at Michaels. I love making things with my vinyl cutting machine.

Finished the day with Tequila sunrises.

OOTD: Sundress from Old Navy. Hubby acts like he's never seen it before *every* time I wear it and loves the way it looks. The heat index was supposed to be near 108, so I dressed appropriately.

OMG, the heat (and humidity) has been incredible in the SE these past few days. I had to do some things in the yard on Monday and it was exhausting -- waaay beyond what it should have been given the actual work. I thought I was just being a wimp, but then my son today had the same experience.

Wake me up when fall is here.

We finally got a break in the heat. It’s 48 outside & I have doors & windows open!  Feels wonderful (right now). Going back up to 90s for weekend & the forecasters are saying 39 on Monday with likely snow showers at our elevation (we’re 6800’) for Tuesday   Crazy, crazy weather, fits the year

Good morning girls🙂

I have a confession to make....I went to the Cheesecake Factory for lunch yesterday and after eating a good salad

(they have an awesome Cobb salad), I was very bad and had a piece of cheesecake for dessert😮 And yes, my sugar

number was high this morning😮.....had to be from that cake and I should have expected it.   I guess nothing terrible

is going to happen to me except I know I don't feel real good for doing it....it tasted good but maybe not as good

as I thought it would be and not feeling great about eating it. Sort of like, "why did I even do that"?......if that makes

any sense. Probably making too much of a piece of cake.............

Lois, all things in moderation. Don’t feel guilty. Try the cheesecake flavored yogurt, supposed to be good. I’ve not tried it as I don’t care for cheesecake...now a brownie or a piece of pie

Hi Melody, I know you are right......honestly, I would have been better off with a drink LOL...a beer or glass of wine.

The amount of sugar and carbs in that one slice had to be off the charts😲

Oh, I saw on the other thread where you had Chico's Off The Rack website.......thanks for that

information!.  I found 2 tops--- 5.00 each!  Ordered them this morning.  We have a Chico's Outlet

about 25 minutes south of me which I have shopped at for many years. I love  their stuff😃

Once in awhile, it is ok to have something like that!  Life is too short not to have the cheesecake, just not every week or month!😂😂

Big day for me, dentist checkup, so hair down, makeup, and green tshirt with beige capris.  My new t shirt came in the mail yesterday but I won’t post a picture since it would be political🙄 and I could not wear it to the dentist as I make it a point not to do anything political when someone is scraping my teeth or using needles!😂. I plan to wear it when I go for my walk, see if I get any comments.

I was able to read all my blood results online, but I got a message from my NP yesterday.  She said all is good except for my glucose (no surprise).  I did write her back to let her know that I had been doing prednisone for quite a while there this summer.  At least the last 2 days have been on the high side of "normal" so I'm OK with that for now.

My pharmacist asked me to wait 2 weeks for the flu shot.  He wants me to take the high-dose one due to my age and co-morbidities.  He was still waiting for it to come in.  And, he said he should have his Medicare Part B contract finalized next week - that would make the shot MUCH less expensive - cash price is $75!!!   I can wait.

I went to the State Store in search of Snoop Dog.  No joy.  Looks like the State has only ordered the red, dark red, and a chard.  Sigh.  I may have to plan my camping road trip to be sure to pass by Las Vegas so I can stop at Earls Discount Liquor!   So, I picked up another bottle of the red.  And, I did not have to wait in line to get in the store!  That hasn't happened for awhile.

Sherri - you have my interest piqued about the Tshirt.  Any way you can give  hint?   Is it going to be the talk of Brevard County?   I'd be afraid to wear my LLAMA shirt down there, especially in Coco Beach!

Lois - it's OK to indulge once in awhile.  Even my nutritionist said so.  You know you're going to do it so don't get too upset by it.   You just have to choose wisely!

Nothing going on today.  It was cool again overnight.  But, I remembered to close the windows, so it was a nice 61 in the house this morning.  Brain fog struck again - I totally forgot to make my coffee.  I didn't remember until I was finished with my cereal (at least I put milk in today instead of grapefruit juice).   I'm looking forward to Saturday night.  Our Olympic Park up here (where the ski jumps and bobsled track are) is doing weekend "drive in" movies in the parking lot.  You use your radio to get the sound.  You can stay in your car or sit in the area given to you next to your car.   Saturday night is "Monty Python and the Holy Grail," a classic. I figured it would be a fun and safe night for me.

Thanks for all the replies🙂

Ok, had my Dr appt at the Kidney Specialist and she said I look fine.   The Ultra sound came back ok although she did

say a small cyst is showing up on one of my kidneys but nothing  for me to worry about.  My next appt is in 3

months and before I go to that one I have to go to Quest for more labs (of course).......and the uranalysis

is even a larger sample for that one.  A plastic container has to be filled up.....24 hours worth.  I picked that up

after the Dr appt. All about keeping those kidneys functioning properly.

Kat, good news about the blood work. As for the high dose flu vaccine, it always goes fast  so good that you are keeping tabs on it at your pharmacy. Could be that you won’t pay anything with Medicare.

Lois, Good news about your kidney scan! I think all of us have those regrets when we eat something that we know we shouldn’t. I’m not diabetic but I still have to watch what I eat especially now! On the other hand, if we always deprive ourselves of treats I think it leads to binging because we get desperate.

Sherri, isn’t it something that we now find dressing up for things like doctor appointments to be significant when it was never that way before all of this? At least that is what’s happening for me.

PurpleHays, , that was quite a day you had-just like the good old days! I have no idea what a vinyl cutting machine is. What can you make with it?

cruisemom, PurpleHays and others with awful weather, I’m right there with you! Very high temps predicted for this weekend. Wish Melody could share some of her great weather with all of us who need it.

Yesterday we met friends for coffee at an outdoor cafe. We put 3 tables together with one couple at either end! Good distancing but as I looked around we were the only group really spacing out like that.  So I did “dress up” and put on make up. Second time this week-woohoo!

It is just a t shirt endorsing 2 candidates, I ordered it from Amazon.  Not to be political😂 but what I really like is the slogan underneath the 2 names which says “Make America Think Again”.  My  husband says I’ll probably get shot wearing it in Brevard County.

Yes, definitely watch out in Brevard County!!!  Sheriff Ivey's crew may pull you over!!!   I believe I know that shirt.   If you drive by a restaurant or bar and don't see masks, keep driving!

Cruisemom: I made TJ's shrimp burger again for dinner tonight.  I put that Pineapple Salsa on it.  It was really good on it.  That salsa goes on my regular buy list now.

I may go for another drive tomorrow, just to get out and about.  Later!

You are right about the sheriff😂.

I wish we had a Trader Joe’s closer to us, the nearest one is in Orlando.  I may have to plan another trip over.

Sally, it makes for an interesting marriage when you don’t agree politically. We have had 47 years of voting disagreements but this year, we are in agreement!

Another big day requiring makeup and earrings! Husband and I went to a Publix for flu shots😂.  There was no one ahead of us but after we filled out the paperwork, 4 people walked in.

OOTH was denim capris with a pink striped gap t and flip flops.  And a pink flowered Johnny was mask😂

Have you seen any of Sheriff Ivey's posts?  He has one he does that's like "Wheel of Fortune" except it's called something like "Wheel of Felons."  The stereotypical Southern Sheriff.  Bless his heart.

I have to come up with a plan for my luge display at the front of my house.  It's an old doubles luge that the Brazilian team used in the 2002 Winter Olympics. I "inherited" it - I was storing it and some other things for them.  They disbanded and never came back.  Their federation went with just bobsled and never asked for the luge again.  Oh well, it's an interesting piece and relative to the area and our Olympic heritage.   During the summer, I had some flowers in there.  I have to keep doing something or else the HOA comes by and says it's an "eyesore."  I already built a podium for it to lay on instead of wrapped tires.  I use it for my Christmas Cow or Santa.  I'm thinking for Fall I'm going to make a dig at the HOA and find a few political signs and a display on the luge, and put my classic Pink Flamingos as the background.  Maybe get some bunting and put around the bottom edge of the podium.   It might be my weekend project!!

OOTD: I think it's going to be my cammo pants and a Tshirt.  I'm going to take that little drive this afternoon.

So happy to have a three-day weekend -- or am I?  Probably will have to work on Monday anyway... :classic_dry:

I am about to go stir crazy. Email from our site head today said we won't be headed back to work (in office) anytime soon, and then this afternoon I got a robo-text from the county CEO warning everyone not to do anything crazy over the holiday weekend (you know, like leave one's house....:classic_wacko:)

It's too hot to eat outside, and we don't have a grill anyway. Does anyone have any ideas on something, anything, safe and fun to do other than stay home, clean house, pay bills and go work??? Seriously, I need some suggestions!

image.png.c2f295da32d11699278dc648c6d27b01.png

Sure, but make that Rome instead.  :classic_angry:

Hi Cynthia, good morning (((((((hug))))))))sending you a virtual one this morning.  I can't think of anything really.........

you said something fun without leaving the house?  I was going to say you could go to a movie (theaters have

opened this weekend)....wear your mask and go escape at the movies. But if you don't want to leave your home

that may not work............
