Rare Lois R Posted October 25, 2020 #2077 Share Posted October 25, 2020 Hi girls, good morning.........Sharon, the dip is wonderful for veggies/pita chips, etc........ You know during a general election only about 60% of the people vote......there are people who are eligible who NEVER vote☹️ From what I have been seeing/reading, hoping for a much larger % this time around!!!! Early voting shows nearly 55 million people have already voted!

Trader Joe's is a drive for me so I don't go there . I do go to a store called Fresh Market . It is such a nice store . I always leave with a few items and a huge bill. I do most of my shopping at Publix. There is a face book group for Covid long timers . It is sad that so many people are having continual problems from Covid . You should try Aldi. Owned by the same people as TJ's. They have some of the same things, just under different labels. Survivor Corps is the FB group I belong to. Over 100,000 members, some survivors, some family members of those who passed. Some of us particpated in a study of symptoms with Indiana University. Since we can't get a lot of information from the medical community yet, we help each other with what we've done for a particular symptom. It helps many to just know they aren't alone, that what is happening isn't "in their head." It's especially hard, IMHO, for those of us who were the early infected, in that time period between December and March, when the US did nothing. It's a major fight with medical providers to believe us and to put on our charts that we are "presumptive" COVID. Off my soapbox.

I have one about 20 minutes away but the Publix I shop at is much closer. But I do like Fresh Market as well. As for those long haulers? Kat, I hope your eye clears up. I’ve heard about those who continue to have all sorts of problems long after they thought they were over the virus. It’s so sad. Lois, glad you found some good stuff at TJ’s. I’m going to look for that Everything Bagel Yogurt Dip. Hoping it will be good for dipping veggies into. I’ve had the root vegetable “fries” and they good. I remember shopping at a Publix just before a cruise. It was across from our hotel and we bought wine and something for dinner when we saw what a nice selection of ready prepared foods they had. As for voting, it will be interesting to learn the voting percentage for this election. Should be quite high based on all the early voters. Sharon If you can't find the dip itself, grab a bottle of the Everything But the Bagel seasoning and make it yourself. That seasoning is also really good on bacon!!! I've had my arm ache and a half-dollar-size bruise, but I've had nothing with yearly flu shots. Same with getting blood drawn - sometimes it's perfect, sometimes I get bruises. Dodgers - sucks. It's 2-2, right?
slidergirl Posted October 25, 2020 Author #2086 Share Posted October 25, 2020 Ugh. It's snowing today and it's sticking. So much for a drive down the mountain... Sorry for the plethora of posts today - I was just taking them as I saw them. I've got some tasks to do in the house, so I guess I will get to them today. Now that I'm going back to work sometime the end of November, I have a definite date to stop being a lazy soul. I need to get my "work clothes" back out and see if the Quarintine 10 has affected my ability to wear them in public!!! I did order another Pryanana Wrap from Athleta on Friday. I was waiting to see if I was going to work again before I put out the money for it. It's a perfect topper for where I work. I wear leggings 90% of the time there, so the wrap is long enough to hide my butt. Plus, it looks really nice. I had the dark gray heather - I bought the light gray heather. If I ever get out and travel somewhere where more than camping clothes are required, either of those wraps will make a perfect travel accessory. OOTD: since it's crappy outside and my heater is going to keep the house at 66 (yes, 66 - I run warm and this house retains heat really well), it's the new trusty camo joggers and my Zion Natonal Park long sleeve Tshirt. P.S. Below Deck marathon continues on BRAVO. If you're jonesing for some ocean action, it's at least a little fantasy. I dream of being rude to Kate...

I am not shocked about much.......I understand some folks think their vote doesn't count or they think it takes too long for things to change but I will say, I do think every vote counts.. Raleigh/Cary have several, all at least 30 minutes away. Durham (where we live) has none. We also don't have Lowe's Foods, but we do have a Whole Foods. Chapel Hill (15 or so minutes away) has a TJs, as does Raleigh. None are convenient. We voted the 15th, the day early voting opened. I wanted to get it done before we went on vacation. Went to the usual place--it's usually busy, but the line was 1/3 of a mile long. In 30 minutes, we moved less than 50 feet. A poll worker told us there was a polling station about a mile away with no line, so most of the end of the line went there. It took about 35 minutes. News reports put us at 11% of voters voting the first day. I need to check updated numbers (see vacation). Our polling station made national news for the long lines, but when they showed it, it was far shorter than when we went. I was impressed to see that most were wearing masks (and even covering both mouth *and* nose). I did have to ask the guy behind us in the first line to back up because he kept coming closer as he was talking.

Last week I Zoomed with my 94 year old aunt who is a loooooong time Dodgers fan. She was ready to watch the game in her Dodgers shirt and hat. No mistake who she cheered for! purduemom1 Posted October 27, 2020 #2093 Share Posted October 27, 2020 Yesterday was a really great day. Our son, who we haven’t seen since March, (lives in Minneapolis) finished a 3 day trip at LAX on Saturday night, dropped his deadhead home, rented a car and drove here to see us. Normally he would stay with us but he didn’t want to take any chances and stayed in a hotel. We spent the day and evening outside, distancing and wearing masks. He flew home after breakfast this morning. It was so different from all his other visits before Covid. We are so hoping that this virus is under better control by next spring when our first grandchild arrives! Sharon

Keksie Posted October 27, 2020 #2095 Share Posted October 27, 2020 Had a lot of fun yesterday. My son came up with a box of doughnuts and then he and I took off for Mississippi to visit one of the casinos in Biloxi. He came out ahead and I came out almost even. We had a good lunch and a lot of fun. My husband and I are off to early vote today and then to the store for provisions in case it gets stormy this week. Keksie Posted October 27, 2020 #2097 Share Posted October 27, 2020 We drove. It is only about a 1.5 hr. drive. We left here at 9, got there at 10:30, gambled, ate and left at 4 and I was home by 5:30. My son lives and hour away so he still had to drive home. The casino got busier as the day went on but not like it was before. They have a lot of the slots shut down for distancing. If there are 4 machines in a row they will have the middle two turned off. Everyone wore a mask. We went to Beau Rivage. I live fairly close to Atmore, Alabama and we may go there next month. I didn't look at the table games closely but they looked like the chairs were spaced apart.
