A nice chip butty on a brown bread cake /bap (or whatever name) coated in

brown sauce and ketchup with a smothering of English mustard  !

Now that's what I call a real taste sensation :classic_love:

Ps If my Cardio team are reading this I did not write the above comment :classic_unsure:

Seabrook for us as well. I liked mine on a Sandwich Spread sandwich, if you know what I mean. We eat very few crisps now, but sometimes still spoil ourselves.

I'm glad it's staying fine for you. We're in the middle of the weirdest weather here. Sun, heavy rain, and a thunderstorm all in a space of 10 mins. Oh, the sun has just come out again.😏

Avril

The rain has been so heavy we had a river running down our street , the gully's could not cope.

I used to like Seabrook's but if and when I rarely have a bag of crisp it's Smiths for me so I can

dispose of the little blue bag of salt .

It has been 14°C and cloudy with intermittent rain.

We have been to the Lake District 240 miles round trip.

We passed Lake Ullswater then went over Kirkstone Pass to Lake Windermere.

We had lunch at the Laura Ashley Bellsfield hotel in Bowness then walked around there for 2 hours before a brief stop in Grasmere then up to Keswick for an hour before driving home.

We buy Seabrook unsalted.

Avril I see you have the ex Corrie actress Tracy Brabin as your mayor! It amuses me the press still refer to her as ‘ex Corrie’ as she left in the 90’s!

Lovely Graham, you do get about! We’re not far from Windermere on my July holiday, can you recommend lunch at that hotel?

Loveley pictures Graham.  Try the Black Bull in Coniston next you're in the Lake District.  A long time since I've been there so can't comment on the food, but it has a strong connection to Donald Campbell.  Lots of pics on the wall, as well of Anthony Hopkins when "Across The Lake" was filmed in Coniston.

Definitely.

We both got Prawn sandwiches with a side of chips but they have a great choice of starters mains and deserts.

We were there a couple of weeks ago and I got fish and chips (photo).

The views are fantastic overlooking Lake Windermere.

You can park in the hotel car park and register the number plate at reception then you can walk around Lake Windermere and Bowness and leave your car at the hotel.

Thanks.

It's been 55 years since I was last at Coniston.

I'm not really up on local politics Sue, but isn't she West Yorkshire Mayor?  Dan Jarvis is the Mayor for South Yorkshire and if memory serves, he's 3 years into a 4 year term.🤔I could be wrong, it has been known😉

You are right Avril, Tracy Brabin is our Mayor in West Yorkshire, she will have to stand down as an MP. I am not big into politics but general consensus is that she has done well and won by over 100,000 votes.

Errm, where's Selbourne and Harry?

Our Harry, not the heron🙂

I did wonder. There was another one, can't remember who. Used phrases like deeply unpopular. I think he meant staycation cruises 🤣. Chatting about cruises , lunch, jabs, shoes etc is much more enjoyable. We both had our second jabs on Friday. Nursey said only a week with the AZ jab. Not invincible yet, but nearly , nearly🤣

To my mind, if they do a good job and earn folks trust, the colour of their rossete don't matter.

I wonder just how qualified for the job she is, she did have a brief spell as shadow culture secretary under Corbyn, but then demoted by Starmer to shadow culture minister, not really a strong resume for a top regional mayor.

Morning everyone, a lovely morning here, blue skies but a bit breezy.

We had our 2nd Covid jabs on Sunday, I have been fine but hubby has been ill and had to ring in sick at work yesterday. He slept all day but I am pleased to say he feels better today but not 100% yet.
Nothing much organised for today except going to gym.
Booked a table for next Monday lunchtime to take my mum out, it will be the first lunch out since last July.
Have a good day everyone

Good morning to everyone nice blue skies here and peaceful for a little while before the builders get her at 7.45 , I’ve parked my car on the road this morning to stop them parking across my driveway let’s see what happens when I go shopping and hospital appointment.

Jane I hope you had a good day yesterday back at work after your fall and they looked after you .
