Are my ears burning ?

Just come back from holiday in both senses of the word ! Nice of everyone ( well some, anyway !) to worry about me, but obviously I could not respond. And thanks Avril, my Mum is fine, although not keen on the current weather, as it curtails her socialising !

In the real world,  we have just returned from three warm sunny weeks (well, a couple of showers) in lovely Playa Blanca, Lanzarote.

Enjoyed lots of the three  "esses"  - sun, sea and that thing that us old un's are never meant to admit to enjoying, but when you have had a glass or two of wine for lunch, and your inhibitions have gone, why not indulge in that secret pleasure - siesta !

Speak more in due course.

Have just been over to visit Mum, it's her 90th birthday today. From there I went up to Tesco as they have beef and lamb at half price and wine is also on offer ( 6 bottles or more with 25% off). It was chaos. I had to go as my discount has been increased by Tesco to 20% for a few days as it's Christmas, so it would be silly not to stock up - wouldn't it?!!😆

Well that's a relief.😊

I'm glad your Mum's alright wowzz, it was the only thing I could think of that could be wrong.

Enjoy the rest of your holiday.

A certain old misery guts up here who doesn,t like anyone enjoying themselves doesn’t allow discounts on alchol. It’s really annoying when the supermarkets are advertising these discounts but we don’t get them.

If I lived nearer the border I might be tempered to do a raid but alas too far so the petrol would probably be as much as the discount

Enjoy your wine, and your lamb. Nice to get a bargain.

Do you mean like pineapples and pampas grass????😇

Avril

Exactly, Avril. Though I’m now even more worried about the pampas grass we had at the last house! I’ll be looking that one up shortly. We set fire to it in the traditional way and nearly took the house with it. Maybe that sent out yet another signal.

I’m now looking carefully at our outside Christmas lights in case they’re flashing morse code!

Having read through the earlier post on here I have just googled "Wowzz" and being vertically challenged I  am almost tempted to place an order for some of those shoes.   I remember the 70s when I wore platform shoes  and I also remember  my dad's comments to my sisters and  about "Those ridiculous things on your feet"

I  also have un -fond memories of a pair of leather platform boots I bought  in the 70's.

I bought some Segs to protect the soles and heels from wearing .

All was well until one evening I came out of college and ran over the road to avoid traffic

and onto a downhill sloped road . To my horror I could not stop and went skating down

the pavement stood upright with sparks flying from under my boots , A few pedestrians

and their kids thought I was great and gave me a cheer and asked if I would do it again .

I declined and could not wait to get home and remove the Segs from my boots .

Young and on a learning curve ,or should I say slope, that- Slopes, Segs and Boots ..

do not mix :classic_blush: Loved my boots though 😂

In almost 3 years on this forum and the time while lurking, you have made me laugh. You're a real funny fella kalos, but this post cracked me up. I can't get the image out of my mind, of you in those boots, skating down the pavement with sparks flying. I laughed so much I couldn't stop and tears were streaming down my face. I'm at it again now just typing this.🤣
