We had a quick lunch yesterday that I saw on Instagram, it was diced crumpets in a dish, cover with baked beans, chopped bacon and sprinkled with cheese then baked till hot - it was surprisingly yummy! Bit like a pasta bake. Edited March 8, 2023 by Waju fat fingers!

I usually use four leeks but you can judge by the size of your dish. I use six slices of bread and and butter. Make sure the leeks are well drained and put between the bread with plenty of cheese on top It cooks best in a shallow dish

I don't like regular tea either unless it is very weak my sister says my idea of tea is to wave a teabag over the cup. I always take a box of my favourite fruit teas with me when we go away. I’m a black Americano girl but it drives me mad when some places bring me milk or say ‘do you want milk with that’ No! Americano means black coffee anyway so it annoys me I have to say ‘black Americano’! My rant for the day 😀

Snow Hill Posted March 8, 2023 #43640 Share Posted March 8, 2023 Good evening, it has been snowing here for most of the, it started to stick early on then the ground temperature rose and it melted, but since 4pm it’s been snowing steadily and is stick on the footpaths, roads and grass. About an hour ago grittier went past, but traffic is light this not mixing the salt with the snow. We are forecast to have heavy snow overnight, so who knows what it will be like in the morning, the perils of living on a hill. Decorator is due to finish tomorrow, he should get here as he drives a 4x4 pickup.

Therefore no need to ask for it black. Sometimes baristas are not really that au fait with the various types of coffee nomenclature. I like a strong coffee, but with some milk, so order an Americano with skimmed milk ( looking after my physique !) on the side. I fully undersrand your rant.

Providing you didn't make an ass of yourself and it tasted nice 🤣 I just had to look donkey up in Italian and see the language, just like Portuguese has it's own male /female word pronunciations, ie do and dah on the end of a word. So I can see how easy it is to mix your lingos up

I am not sure that blaming baristas is fair. When I order an americano and am asked whether I want milk, I often remark that americano is a black milk less coffee. They usually sigh slightly and assure me that they know that but I would be surprised by how many people who, when given their black americano, take one look at it and ask for the milk as though it should be completely obvious to everyone that it should contain milk.
