They definitely know where and when to find you. He's a handsome chap, but I still love that little ragamuffin you found, or rather found you, last time. Caullkhead Posted September 26, 2023 #50478 Share Posted September 26, 2023 Just been catching up, having been cruising to the IOW for a week. Nice to see my mum & sister, had some nice meals out (& a couple of not so great) and lots of cake. Got a few walks in later in the week in between the wind & rain. Sorry to hear some of you are poorly or have been so! Take care.

Rare Eddie99 Posted September 26, 2023 #50480 Share Posted September 26, 2023 We woke up to heavy rain (on the caravan roof) but it’s turned into a nice sunny day. Very windy though, as it gears up for storm Agnes (I think it’s Agnes - certainly starts with an A). The current trajectory seems to be missing the south coast, so 🤞 that’s right. If your in her path tomorrow I hope it’s not too bad for you. We’ve returned home back to bricks and mortar, ‘til the weekend anyway. I had book club this afternoon and it’s the group walk tomorrow, weather permitting That’s a nice little dog Brian - are you sure you wouldn’t like to take him home? He wouldn’t take much space in the car!

grapau27 Posted September 27, 2023 #50482 Share Posted September 27, 2023 Good morning. It is 11°C and partly cloudy here. I hope everyone is well. Storm Agnes later sounds nasty especially up the west coast so stay safe friends.
Caullkhead Posted September 27, 2023 #50483 Share Posted September 27, 2023 Good morning! Wind not too bad here so far & only a bit of drizzle. Braving the elements in a bit to meet my friend. We might journey in B & M Penzance, or just charity shop & coffee in st Just. We’ll decide when she picks me up. 😆. Have a good day everyone.

purplesea Posted September 27, 2023 #50485 Share Posted September 27, 2023 Morning everyone, Feeling a bit better today but still not up to sorting out the washing and packing for next week. I've received an email this morning informing me that one of our trains to Gatwick has been cancelled🙄Just what I need!😡 My car has gone in for it's MOT, so fingers crossed it doesn't turn out to be too expensive! Stay safe. Pam
Peanut006 Posted September 27, 2023 #50486 Share Posted September 27, 2023 Morning everyone, it’s dull and breezy here today. Just dropped my car in for an MOT and then bern for my Covid booster jab, had the flu jab last week. Had Pfizer this time, not had that before. Not doing much rest of the day, I have got a pile of filing/ sorting paper work so I might make the effort with that. Its supposed ti get very windy here by lunchtime so the garden will look a mess again when the leaves and apples start falling off. Have a good day everyone and take care Michelle
Rare Eglesbrech Posted September 27, 2023 #50487 Share Posted September 27, 2023 We already have trees and bushes uprooted by the wind in the fields near us and the full force is not due until later today. There is a beautiful old Rowan tree which was in full berry literally cracked out at the roots. All the chestnuts are off as well, the youngsters are having a great time collecting them. OH has tied up the bins and removed anything that the wind could catch. Hope everyone stays safe, well and weathers the storm.

mrsgoggins Posted September 27, 2023 #50489 Share Posted September 27, 2023 I'm at the hospital, having what I hope to be my final visit since having a shoulder replacement just over a year ago 🤞. On the way home I'm calling in at the Honda dealer to arrange collection of my new car; which I expect to be the last one I ever purchase - we keep cars a long time 😉 Then it's home to batten down the hatches in preparation for the expected high winds later in the day.

Same here, we are scheduled to get the winds this afternoon and evening but it doesn't look too bad, I have put the garden furniture away to be safe plus don't envisage getting a lot more use out of it until spring. Mrs YP and myself are fully jabbed up now for covid and flu.
kalos Posted September 27, 2023 #50493 Share Posted September 27, 2023 A bit busy here ,most of the new boiler job finished but it needs a 20mm feed instead of 15mm. Then (All newspaper headline, look away ) Five week ago Mrs had a problem ,so rang Drs who decided on specialist seeing her and she got phone call last night. I took her in this morning for day surgery . This is our NHS at it's best no private appointment . I will bring her home later today. After that I join a few of you with the cars MOT ,ours will go in tomorrow . Have a nice day everyone .🙂
grapau27 Posted September 27, 2023 #50494 Share Posted September 27, 2023 Good afternoon. Paulines brothers car was in for an MOT so we picked him up at the garage and we had a tour of some of our beach resorts for 2 and a half hours before taking him back to the garage.

Rare Eddie99 Posted September 27, 2023 #50497 Share Posted September 27, 2023 Morning - oops, it’s Afternoon! I think Storm Agnes is going to miss us. We were able to do our Wednesday walk in fairly decent temperature & perfectly dry. I was comfortable with a short-sleeved T-shirt. It’s not excessively windy either. We were a fairly small group today - 9 humans and 3 dogs. I hope everyone stays safe and doesn’t suffer from the weather
kalos Posted September 27, 2023 #50498 Share Posted September 27, 2023 I hope it stays reasonably calm or decides to abandon its visit . Learnt a while back never to take things for granted made sure there's room in the garden for any surprise visitors such as trampolines, plastic green houses etc🙃 Got our phones fully charged and now charging up our Lancaster solar USB camping table lamp . Money well spent as when it's on standby , we use it as a night lite ,just outside the bathroom, saves putting a light on in the small hours .
Rare Eddie99 Posted September 27, 2023 #50499 Share Posted September 27, 2023 We’ve got a similar emergency light. Not a table lamp - more a nightlight, motion sensitive thing, that plugs directly into a socket. Sits there minding its own business unless the power fails, when it switches on. Can leave it in the socket or take it off the stand, when it becomes a powerful torch As you say, it’s reassuring Let’s hope neither of us, nor anyone else, needs to use them today
