Peeps - remember the sun screen.!

Saw my specialist this week, and she tutted considerably when she saw my sun damaged visage!

Your early retirement to Spain Wowzz?

Several of my US cc friends have reported the same due to living in hot and sunny States in America.

My OH finished her cream treatment on her face. She then noticed a little patch of dry skin on her chin,so decided to start another 3 weeks with the leftover cream.OMG it came up like a 2inch welt. It's going down now but trying to get a follow up for the specialist to check them all out. They don't do follow ups now unless you ask.Cheers,Brian.

PANIC! - Here I was in Costa and could not use the NHS test and trace app to check in. I kept getting the message 'Sorry, your phone does not support venue check-in. So half an hour on line did not provide a solution, hence the panic. Then I realised, I was folding the cover of my nice leather phone cover back over the camera. Doh! a senior moment :classic_blush:

You're not the first to have done that Dave, and you definitely won't be the last🤣

I've done it more that once😏

Yup,Spain was the problem. Tried to keep the sun cream regime up during  the summer months, but probably dropped my guard in the spring and autumn.

We have taken a little trip out to our favourite wine warehouse this afternoon and restocked so are good for a few weeks now.  It was a pleasure to go somewhere where we were the only customers in the place so we didn't feel like we needed to rush to get away from people.🍷

Sounds like my day today too except the bbq, that’s tmoro.
The hotels are busy and the main shopping street looked busier than normal yesterday. Pictures were posted last night on a local site of busy motorways coming our way.

Daughter and grandchildren are coming tmoro and staying over which we are looking forward to.

Going to an outdoor Cher tribute tonight at Lowther Hall, bring your picnic chairs, picnic & prosecco type evening. What a nice change it will be to do something different

Have a lovely bank holiday everyone

Michelle

Sounds fun! Have a lovely evening.

I think I’m the only one in my group of friends who puts sun cream on in the garden. Since I turned 50 my face goes very red if I don’t when it used to gradually go brown!

Well John has been battling with hedge today! Very dull and overcast this morning but the sun is finally out!
This is the state we found in the middle of the hedge this morning and this is the pile John pulled out where the neighbour had put up a sort of fence and pushed the hedge into our garden!

I apply sunscreen even when I'm just going in the garden too Sue.

I have a few sun/age spots on my face and don't want any more. In the summer months I use a daily moisturiser with SPF 30 too.

It can even go back to getting sunburnt as a child and teenager as in my OH,s case.

Good heavens Sue, they've given you a right old mess to get rid of.  Thank goodness we've had the same lovely neighbours for 40 years.

We had a trip up to  Gretna Green today where it was 25°C and sunny.

The outlets are getting a lot of building work done on them plus there are several closed stores.

There was a wedding at the Old Blacksmiths shop at Gretna Green today.

Afterwards we had lunch at a garden centre and saw some gorgeous rabbits for sale.

Wise....even in May the sun can do a lot of damage.

Funny old country. We just got back from a week in Cornwall. The first half sunscreen would have been washed off by the rain, second week factor 30. Dorset in 3 weeks, who knows 🤣.

Same here, I have bottle in the shed in case I need to top during a day of gardening. When I used to play cricket I was one of the few players who used to put sun cream on before going out on the field. Used to see many a lobster face then.

My wide says she used to go through more sun cream between December & April when she worked in the French Alps, then in the whole of the summer here or overseas, a combination of clear skies, thinner air and reflection off the snow, many a first time skier came back with a very red face the first day on the slopes.

Apropos of nothing, we went for a stroll along the river Trent, and had a lunch time pint in the village pub. There was a Rolls Royce Cullinan in the car park.  ( No, I didn't know the name of it either until I looked jt up on Google).

"What do you think of that? "  I asked my wife. "Looks like a cross between a taxi and a hearse " she said.

Just looked up the price - £276,000 before personal additions!

I suppose if you can afford it, you don't really think about the price like us mere mortals!
