Funny the same thing runs through my mind. My wife could never understand why I want to leave to go to the airport hours before a flight. I always say to plan for the unexpected. I don't have a problem sitting and relaxing at the gate.

Same here. I like being at the airport, watching planes come and go, listening to some music, and enjoy the anticipation of the week that is beginning.

My rule is to be in the gate area sitting no less than 1 hour before my flight leaves. I love to just soak everything in that this is the start of something good.

Yup. Dinner is already done, just needs to be heated up when John gets home just before it starts.

Yeah...I plan dinner around the show. I'm shameless.

Will Lexi get the boot or not?

Well that was an interesting ending.

I wish I had room for a 3rd monitor like @harryfat1  There are times I could use a 3rd one.   And bigger ones.  These are 24” and 21”, but larger will not fit.

We've been on an overnight in Kauai, which gave us the opportunity to tour without worrying about missing the ship in the evening.

We found Kauai the most beautiful of the islands we visited during the cruise (overnight in Maui, BI and Kuna).

The Waimea canyon is simply breathtaking.

When we left Kauai, the ship cruised slowly along the Na'apali coast. Again - I'm at loss of words -- sheer beauty.

I may be the only male who has never changed a tire and never pumped gas.

Whenever I'm in NJ I'm always amazed that only a gas station attendant can pump gas.  Driver isn't allowed.

Ckrobyn  - has anyone heard from her?  Now that we have started back cruising, I thought we would see a post.  She was very present on cc pre COVID and submitted quite a lot of live and post cruise reviews.

I was thinking that myself.  Great reviews!

Of course he knows where I am at all times 😀

There you are !  Hope you and your family have been well. You've been missed.  All of your reviews are wonderful and I always enjoy them thoroughly.

There's a limit on how wide your monitor should be when you have 3 of them as the wider you have them, the more you have to whip your neck back and forth when you have info on the far right and far left.

Sometimes you would be working on the far right monitor and a pop up window shows up on the far left and you keep wondering what's going on...

Although a 3rd monitor is good for meetings as you can have one for meetings and two other multi tasking...

With all the talk about tire problems, it remined me of our tire problem on our road trip to Oregon few years ago.  While at the hotel in Portland, saw my tire was flat.  Called AAA and the guy said the steel belt on my tire is starting to protrude out of the tire.  He recommends I get a replacement ASAP before the tire blows.  Yike, that doesn’t sound good.

20160810_111246.thumb.jpg.348e3b6840b9e8b812bff87d985204cb.jpg

He got me enough air for me to limp to the nearest Costco to get a new tire.  Since I got my current set of tires from Costco, they examined my bad tire and said the since the tire is still under warranty, they will give me a brand new replacement for free.  All I had to pay was $1 for the disposal recycling fee as they will even throw in the labor to swap it out.  Super cool! I love Costco.  So if at all possible, get your tires at Costco as the warranty will be honored at all Costco warehouses.

Anyway, as I was looking for these tire pictures, I was going through my Oregon vacation pictures.  Doubtful most people here have been to Oregon so instead of my usual nightly Disney photo uploads that nobody cares about, instead I will share some Oregon pictures that nobody cares about. 😜

I am probably establishing a reputation as a bakery addict here but anyway, here’s a Portland institution – Voodoo Donuts. Maybe these are all tourists that bought into the Hype but how often do you see Disney like line for a Donut shop?

Another thing we like to do is visit as many state capitols as we can every time we go to a new state. That’s another one of the Travel bucket list.  So far we have been to state capitols at CA/HI/AK/WA/OR/NV/AZ/UT/WY and US Capitol in DC. Anyway, on this Oregon trip, we made our way to the Washington State Capitol. Pre Covid, they had daily tours of the Capitol to tell you about the history of the State.

One of Portland most visited spot is the Multnomah’s Fall. Oregon has a lot of water falls and trails.  You can easily spend one plus day exploring the trails and the various waterfalls.

Listed as one of the top 10 Waterfalls in the US:

Another popular Portland site is the International Rose Test Garden.  If you like flowers/roses, this place is for you. It’s on top of the hill overlooking the City and best of all, it’s FREE (Cheapo Dad like that word).  All you need to do is pay meter parking to see the garden.

Heading south along the coast for a little calmer beach activity at Cannon Beach.  Massive rock and flat beach front.  Too cold for swimming even in August but walking along the beach is nice

Good morning everyone.

I thought I was the only one not able to see photos or like.

Last night we had a lovely meal in the restaurant we were in on our anniversary night.

Scallops starters for us both.

Cheese soufflé main for Pauline and beef for me.

Cheeseboard each for Deserts.

Take care everyone.

Graham.

This show sorta centered around "let's tiptoe around Lexi and not make her mad."

This tip toeing around Lexi is annoying. She needs to be put in her place or kicked off the boat. Neirher Kate of Hannah would put up with her. Though I really like Katie, this chief stew.

So, I am guessing you are supernaturally lucky, driving tens of thousands of miles year after year and no sharp objects ever under your wheels.

I didn’t make it until I was 17.  I must have been born under a black cloud.

He lives in NYC. It is probably possible to drive zero miles a year or not even own a car.

Living on gravel I have even had a sharp rock gash a pick-up tire open. Got one the couple miles just in time.

Nice!!  That will also give you plenty of time to shop around for the house you'd like to purchase.

Indeed yes!  Told our happy realtor the same.  Since we know it is just not going to happen this year during the last of the 3 weeks we have left.  Next year we will be settled into this one place, after a 3 week stay on the coast, to do our hunting.  This area is more in line as to where we want to look anyway.

I could live there. Probably couldn't afford it though.

Certainly has been trying to find the right second home, which will probably be a 4-5 month summer thing up here....but it's been tough.   Homes up here are way too overpriced for what you get right now.  Though I am getting constant emails on price drops lately.  I think the conversation with their listing agents have gone like this:  "But you told me I could get this much for my house, and now it's not sold and we are headed into the winter!!!"  😮😉

It's still a "seller's" market right now, even up here, but not nearly as bad as the feeding frenzy in Florida! 😮

Prices are still too high.  My unprofessional guess...the market will turn next year...hopefully more buyer friendly by then.

We were going to get a whole house generator but instead got a 15,000 watt generator.  We had an electrician wire our box so that we can plug it in and not worry about the linemen when the power comes back on.  It is enough to run the refrigerators, air conditioner, lights etc.  If we need to wash clothes we can turn the air conditioner off and run the washer and dryer.  The entire set up didn't cost that much and we didn't have to get a huge propane tank for a whole house one.  My husband usually has at least 60 gal. of gas around which will be enough to last quite awhile.

I don't have one for my house in Florida either...yup..even with being hurricane bullseye state.  😉

What we have is another home to move into that does have a built in generator.  It sits under cover in the RV port, and can travel out of the storm.  😄
